    The 2021 model update (G22 - Coupe, G23 - Cabriolet, G26 - 4 door coupe) brought around HUGE design changes and questions about style choices. Will BMW's new 4-Series go down as a hit or a miss?

      Hi Francisco, Thank you for your comment!
      I actually agree with you. The design (like it's often the case with BMW designs) has really grown on me over time, and at this point, the smaller grills are starting to look dated in comparison!
      Now the rear end, that's a different story. That is just completely uninspired (in my opinion :) )

    What do you think about this car against the A5 cabriolet?

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I haven't had a chance to drive a recent A5 Cab, but my overall take between Audi and BMW is this: BMWs tend to be better looking on the outside and be a little more sporty and fun to drive. But the Audis are clear winners on their interior designs and their tech. Few cars can match the gorgeous cabins that Audi puts out. To me, it's more of a lifestyle and image choice. Both companies put out excellent cars, and for most, I think it's simply a decision of which car they relate more to. You really can't go wrong with either!

    Hello, may I ask some quick expert and non-biased opinion pls? Im deciding between this BMW vs Tesla. For use in city and occasional long drive

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a very big question with a lot of things to consider. The biggest being if you want a convertible or not.
      For me, if we were comparing the coupe or sedan of the 4 series with the Tesla, I would pick the Tesla all day long. I just love the experience you get from their cars, and I think BMWs have changed towards being cheaper and more gimmicky from what they used to be. They just don’t feel as special to me anymore.
      But - there is one thing you can’t get from Tesla, and that’s a convertible. If you are a convertible person (not everyone is), that open air feeling is more important than almost anything else.
      They are both great cars and you can’t really go wrong with either, but they are also so different that I think you need to test drive both - or maybe even rent one of each for a few days to see what living with them is like.

    • @rizman6053
      @rizman6053 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cadreamdrives thanks so much, i know my question is just too broad and not apple to apple comparison, sorry. Convertible is not something Im dying to have, but I like it (maybe will use it once in a while). I like this bmw specific model as it look young and sporty and more exclusive (in my view), not too many people driving it in my city compared to Tesla (which is everywhere). I like tesla for the technology, fuel efficiency, and the design also I like (although I like this bmw design more).
      I’m single, the most i will have is 1 passenger, purpose of driving is more casual/go around the city (not daily commuting) and maybe sometimes go for a road trip to neighboring countries in Europe when the weather is nice.

    Since my wife got a dog, I have to switch from a MB SLC roadster to a 4 seater…. So, with a dog on the back seat, I don’t see how I would use the back seat wind deflector. How windy does it gets on the highway at 70 mph?

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re right, the wind deflector wouldn’t be an option with your dog in the back. At 70mph, there is a fair amount of wind - and more so in the back seat. It’s not crazy unpleasant, but it’s enough to where I close the top in most cases when I do freeway driving. The 430 is among the better cars when it comes to buffeting, but freeway driving is just not great in convertibles.

      I completely agree - which is why you don’t see a plate on the front of my car 😄. CA (and maybe other states too) actually allow a plate that’s like a wrap now. That helps a lot. Drilling into the bumper to mount a plate doesn’t feel right either!

  • @nycupperes

    Soft top with a FUGLY TALL STOP 🛑 sign grill is a deal killer. Bring back the hard top convertibles and normal looking kidney grill. Probably the reason the older hard tops are selling at such huge premium. Also looks like the leg room is shorter.

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The new 4-series design is definitely polarizing. For, I've actually taken a liking to the new design. Initially, it was off-putting to me, but as time has passed, I'm liking it more. Same thing with the soft top. I was partial to the hardtop before, but the new top is so good that I don't miss the old hardtop - and I appreciate having the full trunk available - regardless of the position of the top.
      Having both a 2018 and a 2021 430i convertible, my feelings about them have definitely changed over time. Initially, I was partial to the older car, but now I prefer the newer model. There are a LOT of differences and improvements, and I believe legroom is more abundant in the newer car. It definitely feels bigger when you sit in it. Overall, I'm now loving the new 430 - with the exception of the boring looking taillights and the awful computer screen, that replaced the beautiful gauges from the past.

      @cadreamdrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I completely agree - it's quite awful. It really has ZERO BMW feel to it. I think they were preparing for the way the gauges are going to look on the all-electric cars, but the style is completely out of place here.
      You definitely can't go wrong with your X4M40i!

    • @RO-cf3lz
      @RO-cf3lz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I happen to realky like the taillights. The front grill I like more and more everyday I drive my m440i convertible with white exterior and red interior. I really don't need all the h.p. but it is there should I want to use it. However, cruising is my thing, but the govt mandated start /stop I really dislike. To disengage, around town I use "sport". If there is a will there is a way. To circumvent periodically, I switch to manual mode. This car isn't for everybody but the engine and transmission are perfect as far as I'm concerned. Oh, the troll critics we all laugh & ignore, but negative people don't have anything good to say about anything. Life is GOOD and all about "CHOICE" and taste.😊

      @cadreamdrives  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Patrick, Thank you for your comment!
      I'm really torn on the issue of the top. Since I have both models, I know them both well. Initially, I was partial to the hardtop as well, for all of the obvious reasons. But after living with the new soft top for more than a year, I'm no longer so sure. The new top is not like old soft tops. It is of much higher quality, and it has rigid panels inside of it to ensure more headroom in the cabin. It also opens and closes much, much faster, and you can operate it while driving (up to 30mph or so), which is a huge benefit. But the biggest plus is how much less room it takes up. You can still get suitcases into the truck with the top open. That was never possible with the old top.
      The new top is also virtually as quite as the old top, and it's highly insulated, so no difference there either. The actually did a great job with the new top!
      As for the looks, that will always be subjective. I favor the new look now, but the classic look will certainly always be beautiful as well!
