Out of all the recent changes on Princess Cruises, which one rocked your boat the most? 🛳👀 Thinking of flirting with a new cruise line, or are you still playing footsie under the table with Princess? Let's get naughty: spill the sea-tea in the comments, and let's find out where our loyalties truly lie! 👇💬
On our 7 Cruises we have only cruised on Princess. We do not want to change cruise lines, but my new philosophy is to try and have the best cruise at the least cost. I have booked Standard Fare since we do not drink, picking up our Medallions at the Port, bringing my own Starbucks Via instant coffee, and not eating any food that is not included in the fare. We have looked at other Stateroom options that have saved us hundreds of dollars without impacting our cruise experience. Call me CHEAP, but we will have almost as much fun saving money as we will cruising! Princess will not be getting any more money then is absolutely necessary for us to have a great cruise!
Harry, your philosophy is spot-on! 🛳️💸 Why spend more when you can have a fabulous cruise experience for less? You're clearly a pro at making the most out of the Standard Fare, and those cost-cutting hacks like bringing your own Starbucks Via and opting for budget-friendly staterooms are gold! 🌟 Look, there's a fine line between being "cheap" and being "financially astute"-and it sounds like you're firmly in the latter camp. After all, the fun of a cruise isn't measured in dollars spent but in memories made. And if Princess isn't taking notes on how to keep cruisers like you happy without breaking the bank, they're missing out big time. 🚢💡 Thanks for sharing your wisdom! Safe sailing and savvy saving! 🌊🍹
Princess does still offer the breakfast card service. You fill out the card and hang it on your door and they’ll deliver breakfast the next morning. This does not cost five dollars the five dollars is activated only when you use your phone to call room service.
You're absolutely right, Christine! Princess still has the breakfast card service in place. For a continental breakfast delivered right to your stateroom, simply fill out the breakfast card found in your stateroom portfolio or the one placed on your pillow at night. Hang it on your door, and your breakfast will be delivered at your chosen time the next morning. This service is complimentary and doesn't come with the $5.00 charge. It's only when you dial Room Service directly from your stateroom phone for other items that the fee applies. Enjoy your morning meal and happy cruising! 🛳️🥐🍳🍉
Sailed 23 times on Princes and have paid for a back to back cruise to South America this Nov.This will be our last time cruising. Changing items after we've already paid is not right.
🛳️ 23 sailings on Princess-now that's commitment! Changing the rules in the middle of the game, especially after you've paid, is like buying an all-inclusive vacation only to find out the 'all' has suddenly become 'some'. It's a bait-and-switch no one asked for. 🎣💔 We hope Princess is tuning in because this isn't just rocking the boat; it's tipping it over for loyal cruisers like you. 🌊🛳️ Thanks for weighing in! Your experience speaks volumes, and it's the kind of feedback that can make waves in the cruising community. 😊💬
Here are some tips: the room service often never arrives or arrives late, the OceanNow does not work, takes a long time for delivery or ends up in you room, and Alfredo’s and other specialty dining is not that great; so package people may be disappointed. I challenge anyone to spend $60 a day, everyday. The packages are not worth it, no matter how you spin it. Pay as you go and I bet your bill will be less than total package price for your cruise. My personal package includes tips, sanctuary, one excursion and a massage❤
For me and my hubby, the package is worth it. Drinking mock tails, cocktails, daiquiri, smoothies, specialty coffee and soda throughout the day for 2 people add up. Without the package I would have to limit myself. I don’t want to limit myself while on vacation. We don’t do excursions. The ship itself is our destination. So having the Premium which includes unlimited dining and speciality dining, Wi-Fi. photo package, gratuities, plus unlimited premium desserts is a no brained for us. ,
I kinda agree, some people drink and for them it’s worth it. I pay for my gratuities before I board, I don’t want the internet, I also go to the Sanctuary that’s an easy charge for me. I do order room service a bit but nothing I can’t handle. I’m not a big drinker. I also put money on my account before boarding, plus I pre pay the steakhouse dinner all before boarding. The plus package like you , isn’t worth it to me. Some they enjoy, so it’s cool, we all find our grove.
Last cruise i will be taking. Switching to all inclusive which have done before and it is much less hassle. Was planning a cruise for club members which will now change to all inclusive for 40 members with partners.
What upset me is that we have 20 days back to back cruises coming up in November on Majestic Princess which we booked in September 2022 under the old Plus package so we get none of the new benefits unless we pay $600 Au to upgrade. No way am I going to pay that! If our Plus was accepted then, as we are technically on two cruises, we could have had four complimentary meals at Alfredos but now we have zero unless we pay! I am disappointed that people like us who had already booked Plus and paid for our cruise in full did not get automatically upgraded.
I can feel the waves of frustration from here, Anne, and rightfully so! Booking a cruise should feel like a dreamy escape plan, not a calculus problem. 20 days on the Majestic Princess sounds absolutely epic! But hitting a snag with the old Plus package? Not so majestic. 🚢 If you booked under the old system, it does sting that you're missing out on those Alfredo's meals unless you fork out that extra $600 AU. Honestly, I share your sentiment. Princess should have thrown a lifeline to loyal cruisers like you, especially when changes affect existing bookings. Here's hoping they catch wind of these concerns and toss a few bonus perks to those caught in the transition wave. Cheers to you, and may your voyage still be filled with unforgettable moments (and perhaps a sneaky slice or two)! 🍕🥂🌊

I’m an Australia taking my first cruise with Princess shortly. This will be a cruise leaving from and returning to an Australian port with very few Americans aboard. If there is an empty Green Lane, while the rest of us fully Ocean-Ready pax are stuck in a slow Blue Lane, it will be my first and last cruise with Princess. I will be looking for a cruise line that does not practice discrimination by nationality.
Hey there! 🇦🇺 We totally hear you. If the Green Lane is emptier than a kangaroo's pouch during a drought, while the rest of the fully Ocean-Ready crew is left in the Blue, that's a rough start for sure. Discrimination by nationality? Not on anyone's watch! Let's hope Princess catches wind of this sentiment and makes necessary adjustments. If not, there's a sea full of other cruise lines ready to roll out the red carpet for everyone, equally. Cheers for speaking up, and here's hoping your maiden voyage has more highs than lows. 🚢🥂 Keep us posted on your experience!
@@sailors365 I certainly will do. I have friends who are taking their family on a Melbourne/Melbourne cruise to New Zealand in November, it will be interesting to see how they make out. It doesn’t seem reasonable to me that Princess can’t distribute the medallions world-wide. They will be made in China or Korea or similar, so why not have the manufacturer ship them direct to district offices around the world for local distribution if international postage is too hard for them to work out? I have looked up the technology the medallions use, and it is identical to the technology in phones, laptops, tablets, fitness trackers, bag trackers, etc, so there is nothing in them that is restricted by any country for inclusion in regular mail. It does rather lead one to conclude that either they just can’t be bothered to figure it out, or they are deliberately favouring Americans, (and apparently soon, Canadians).
@@brujonpatrick4779 We are all in the Blue Lane, not being Americans. I’m sailing late January, though there are quite a few departures from Melbourne between then and now. I’m planning on really enjoying this cruise, (once past the embarkation) but I’m not expecting to find myself down at the next-cruise signup desk. Also, one hopes they are able to get rid of the gastro problems of this week.
I leave from Sydney and return, I havn't struck any problems, as long as your paperwork is correct, we were onboard by 11.20am. I used to be in Elite line , non existent now, but still managed, easier enough. Dropped our hand luggage in stateroom as it was ready for us, and then headed to have a bite to eat at the international cafe. All good!
😅so exaggerated! We just got off an Alaska cruise. It was only a few minutes wait in the blue line as Canadians couldn’t get their medallions shipped. That has now changed and Princess will ship them to Canada as well as USA. Breakfast in your room is included from the card you fill out. I would pay the $15.00 to get unlimited room service. I agree they should grandfather people who booked prior to the new fees being announced. Being aware of the charges avoids sticker shock at the end - just budget for what extras you want and then enjoy your cruise!
An Alaskan cruise? Sounds chilly and thrilling! 🛳️🏔️ Glad to hear the Blue Line didn’t keep you in the cold for long. And yes, those medallions are finally flying over to Canada. 🍁 Breakfast in bed? Always a win. 🍳 But let's be honest, those changes from Princess are a bit of a curveball for some. We're just here to give folks a heads up. 😉 Cheers for weighing in, Marie. @@mariebrooks875 just so you know, I was on a Princess cruise out of Vancouver last month and my medallion was mailed to my home with no issues. I was cleared for the green lane, so I have no idea what this video is talking about.. I am Canadian and live near Vancouver port
We are first time cruisers. Grand Princess. Melbourne-NZ-Melbourne, 14 days. Jeeez I am worried after what I have been reading about Princess. I am also confused regarding the food arrangements and the packages. It all looks good when booking however there is plenty of fine print after they have your money. Also the Grand Princess has some ordinary publicity in Australian waters right now. Our cruise is days away. Oh well too late now.
First-time cruising is always an adventure, and it's totally normal to have those pre-cruise jitters. Princess Cruises can offer a grand time, but you're right about the devil being in the details. Deciphering the food options and packages on board can sometimes feel like trying to solve a puzzle - it's all about finding the right pieces that fit your taste and budget. Here's a quick tip: give the standard offerings a try first, and then decide if you want to upgrade to any of those tantalizing packages. Remember, sometimes the best experiences don't come with a price tag. Regarding the Grand Princess, every ship has its ups and downs. Go in with an open mind and a spirit for adventure! Who knows? This trip might just surprise you in the best possible way. And hey, if it doesn't, you've got a boatload of stories to tell. Bon voyage, and don't forget to pack that sense of humor - it's the best travel companion you can have! 😄🛳️🌟
Even with the Plus package, no matter your cruise is 7 days or 30 days, you will only get 2 casual dinings at any one time cruising ( could be a 100 days world cruise too )
Right! Whether we're lounging for a week or playing sailor for a month, we only get two casual dining experiences with the Plus package!! Sounds like Princess is giving us the appetizer treatment, even on the main course of a 100-day world cruise! 🍽️ I mean, come on, Princess - even Cinderella got more than two nights out! 😭
@@MaxGrey03 - The Princess Plus package includes 2 Casual Dining meals. It will be an out-of-pocket expense if you choose to dine more than that. However, if you have onboard credit, it will be applied!
Yes I think that needs to be changed, not fair for the longer trips, if its more than fifteen days it should be doubled, like its not that much cost to them, the pizza was free before anyway. The Alfredos pizza restaurant hasnt got a great choice of things the menu anyway. Lacking variety. No lasagna or garlic bread. They used to have a nice entree not any more, a mimosa salad, was a llittle boring. So probably won't eat there again
We will cruise this last time with Princess in a (Club)class now reserve class suite with basic drink and data package, no plus pkg, but we won’t be cruising again with them. We will see what Carnival the parent company is charging and we may stop cruising with them either. I think they don’t see that they aren’t they only vacation options and they have gone way too far! Bless you ocean travelers 🧳
Sounds like you're going out with a bang on Princess with that Club Class suite, Anna! 🥂 But we totally get where you're coming from. It's essential for cruise lines to remember they're not the only fish in the sea, especially when it comes to vacation options. Carnival might be the big parent, but every child's got its quirks, right? 😜 Hoping your cruise is nothing short of fabulous, and wherever the tides take you next, keep those vacation vibes strong! 🚢🍹 Cheers to all the adventures ahead, on land or sea! 🌍🧳
Carnival just keeps sailing very old ships that were refurbished, but the price doesn't reflect that. For an Alaskan sailing, their prices were just over RC, just under Princess and about the same as Norwegian. I'm not against older ships by any means, but the price should reflect that!
So I understand the pizza charge, I even understand the room service charge. Except is that 5.00 going to server, or do I tip on top of that? I don’t mind tipping room service person. If you order off the app are you still charged the 5.00, same for drink order to location or cabin. I don’t like the 14.99 activation charge. A bit tacky. Princess needs to see the outcry RCL passengers are having. Also Carnival has more complimentary food options. Princess does have a nice room service menus option. Great video. Does Princess see this?
Hey George! 👋 With the Princess Plus or Premiere package, you sidestep those room service fees unless you've got a hankering for something off the non-complimentary menu. Sailing on the Standard fare? That $5.00 fee comes into play when you dial room service from the stateroom phone. And if you're thinking of using the app to bypass the phone? Just factor in the one-time activation fee of $14.99. Princess better get their act together and sharpish. I mean, they did toss a few enticing morsels into the room service menu, like that tempting $5.00 Big Chocolate Chip Cookie and the luxurious $9.00 "Lobster Tail, 6-7oz". Cheers for the feedback, and let's be real - if Princess isn't watching our channel by now, they're missing out on some golden insights (and maybe a chuckle or two)! 😜
Ah, the bait and switch-a classic move that no one's a fan of. It's always a bummer when a brand doesn't live up to expectations. Your feedback is like gold to the cruising community, and if Princess isn't taking notes, they should be. 📝 Thanks for sharing, and here's to smoother sailings on different seas. 🍹🚢
I see all ships are up to gouging its cruislings, we just have to like it or lump it, for 2 or so years stuck in the ocean waiting for covid to end they are making a way to increase their profits. I still love cruising and after 23, and we're not planning on giving up just yet.
I just got off a cruise and our premier didn’t work they wanted to charge $14.99 called our plan the “old plan”. The place was empty and to add to frustration our app showed we both had two meals to be used 🤯🤯. First and last trip more cruising options out there . We were very disappointed. They should’ve grandfathered people in. Less frustrated travelers and chaos for the employees. I feel bad I know it wasn’t their fault. People boom based on amenities do better Princess! The guest services line was insane.
Hey @LakeLifeHiggins! 🌊 It sounds like you hit some turbulent waters with that "old plan" mix-up. No one should be navigating through such confusion, especially when you're aiming for smooth sailing on a cruise. 😅 It's definitely frustrating when tech doesn't align with your expectations, and we hear you on the importance of grandfathering loyal customers in. I'm truly sorry your maiden voyage with Princess felt like you were swimming against the current. 🚢💔 Thanks for sharing your experience; it's valuable feedback like this that can help usher in smoother seas for future passengers. And fingers crossed that Princess is tuning in and taking notes. Cheers to better cruising adventures ahead, wherever they may be! 🍹🌅
sailing from the UK everyone will be in the Blue Lane as Princess don't post the Medallion to any addresses in the UK,,, ( I think they are just starting to post to Canadian Addresses). so even as Elite Members you will have to go through the Blue Lane when sailing out of the UK
Hey Mick! 🇬🇧 So the Brits get the royal treatment, but not the speedy Medallion delivery? Quite the plot twist, isn't it? While Canada starts to feel the Medallion love from September 25th, 2023, us UK folks might as well pop the kettle on and brace for the Blue Lane blues. Until then, we'll keep calm and cruise on, even if it's from the Blue Lane. 🚢🍹 Cheers, mate!
The Medallion's finally stretching its legs to Canada, eh? Seems like it took a scenic route, Brian. 😂 And word on the deck is that by 2024, it'll be making some waves in Australia and Europe. Let's hope Princess keeps up the pace! 🙌
Lester from Queensland, Australia princess has now taken the delights away that was the very reason we go on the cruise, this is easily fix, princess will not see us again, there are other cruise line that are behaving them selfs, they will see us more often..playing around with the reasons cruisers go on these cruises, not so much to look forward too, very disappointing .
Hey Lester from Queensland! 🇦🇺 It's a bummer hearing that some of the delightful touches that made Princess stand out for you are now missing. Cruising should be all about those unique experiences and little luxuries, right? We totally get the urge to explore other cruise lines that are keeping the charm alive. While we're always rooting for Princess to up their game, it's crucial for cruisers like you to vote with their feet (or should we say, sea legs?). Thanks for weighing in, and here's to finding that perfect cruise experience, wherever it might be. 🍹🚢 Cheers!
Hi , am i right in thinking that if you use the app or state room tv for room service , once you have activated the 14.99 fee you don't have to pay again , in other words the $5 delivery fee ? Many thanks.
You're correct in your thinking, Neil! If you order via the app or your stateroom TV, you'll be charged a one-time access fee of $14.99 for the Delivery Service Access for OceanNow. Once this fee is activated, you won't have to pay it again for the duration of your voyage, and it covers unlimited ordering. However, if you're ordering through the in-room phone for food and beverage, sundries, or retail items, there's a $5 delivery charge even if you've already paid the OceanNow access fee. The good news is, if you're on the Princess Plus or Princess Premier packages, both these fees are waived. Hope that clears things up! Enjoy your cruise! 🛳️✨
@@sailors365 That's great , thanks for the info, we are on the old princess plus package and only paid $40 a day when we booked so won't get the new privileges , so will just pay as we go , not worth paying to upgrade we do think .
Package deals cater to drinkers the rest of us just pay more. Thumbs down to Princess I’m on to Celebrity for my first cruise in Oct after 12 Princess trips. Wont say never but getting to 15 fo free laundry and discounts on over priced excursions doesn’t cut it.
It's a shame when loyal sailors feel the need to jump ship. I get where you're coming from, and while the package deals might seem like a happy hour endless loop for some, it's clear they don't float everyone's boat. 🍹⚓ Switching to Celebrity for a fresh wave of experiences sounds like an adventure! But hey, if Princess ever decides to up their game and win back hearts, our channel will be the first to spill the beans. Bon voyage on your October cruise, and remember: the ocean's vast, and there's a cruise line for every taste! 🚢
You're welcome, Millicent! 🥂 Glad you found the guide useful. If you have any more questions or need further clarity, don't hesitate to ask. After all, we're all in the same boat here-figuratively and sometimes literally! 🚢 Cheers to your next sailing adventure! 🍹
Seems that way, doesn't it? 🤨 Going Premier might cushion some of those new charges, but it's clear Princess is navigating us towards a more 'premium' experience. Whether that's worth the price of admission, well... that's the million-dollar cruise question. What are your thoughts on these new waves they're making? 🚢💸
This new president needs to have a box put on his and get somebody new in there. He is slowing taking away things and charging more. We are not happy with him. I feel bad for him if he is ever seeing off a boat we are on. I am going to inform him that his new ideas to increase revenue for share holders is making every one mad.
We tried alfredos, they tried to charge us for one of the free ones, did finally sorted it out, but Pizza isn't my favourite meal even though we have the plus deal. Neither did we like the fancy whippy icecream, can only handle one per cruise, very sickly with the toppings. Ours is having the cocktails at 22.00 each dosen't take long to cover the cost of pkg, plus medallion internet.we make sdure weget our monies worth.

@@mariebrooks875 just so you know, I was on a Princess cruise out of Vancouver last month and my medallion was mailed to my home with no issues. I was cleared for the green lane, so I have no idea what this video is talking about.. I am Canadian and live near Vancouver port
Good 👍
We are first time cruisers.
Is it capped at 2 or just 2 free ones before you have to pay additional?
One correction. Plus passengers will get two casual dining meals included. Plus, have unlimited.
are the 2 casual dining meals per day or just 2 meals per package?
Would be interesting to see the breakdown of cruisers on Princess. Percentage that falls in each? STD/plus/premier
Absolutely, Scott! 📊🛳️ We'll definitely look into it for a future video. Thanks for the suggestion! 👍💡 Keep those ideas coming, and happy cruising! 🌊🥂
The $14.99 charge applies to Alfredo's too.
Looks like that pizzeria is tossing more than just dough these days, Barbara!
Hoping your cruise is nothing short of fabulous, and wherever the tides take you next, keep those vacation vibes strong!
Last time for us😢😢
Oh no, we're truly sorry to hear that! 😔 May we ask what led to this decision? Your feedback can help many in the community. 🛳️💬💙
Do not like bait and switch scams. We learn our lessons. Will not be cruising Princess again.
They just announced that Canadian passengers can now have their medallions shipped to their residence prior to their trip. $15 USD
Yes, this is BIG news and a great reminder, Bruce! 🙌❤️
If you pay the $14.99 for the app, are all food deliveries free after that point, including deliveries to your room?
Correct! The only caveat is if you order through the phone in your cabin. That will incur a $5.00 charge.
Inclusive with plus pkg.
Not sure if we will get the Medallions shipped to us in Australia have had the plus pkg. on last two cruises.🤞🏼
All cruise lines are raising prices. Just read about the restaurants on Royal Caribbean.
I just got off a cruise and our premier didn’t work they wanted to charge $14.99 called our plan the “old plan”. The place was empty and to add to frustration our app showed we both had two meals to be used 🤯🤯. First and last trip more cruising options out there
When did you book your cruise?
sailing from the UK everyone will be in the Blue Lane as Princess don't post the Medallion to any addresses in the UK,,, ( I think they are just starting to post to Canadian Addresses). so even as Elite Members you will have to go through the Blue Lane when sailing out of the UK
As of the 25th of September 2023, the Medallion will be able to be shipped to Canada. That is for Plus & Premium guests.
I will not cruise with Princess again.
Thank you very much for gaiding me
You're welcome, Millicent! 🥂 Glad you found the guide useful. If you have any more questions or need further clarity, don't hesitate to ask. After all, we're all in the same boat here-figuratively and sometimes literally! 🚢 Cheers to your next sailing adventure! 🍹
Then going premier will really be more worth it now …
Seems that way, doesn't it?
