You say we are stifffing them behind the scenes. THAT'S NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY! it's the cruise companies responsibility! Tips were for servers back in the early 1800's that were not paid a wage. Now days cops give you a speeding ticket for 5 over and they want a TIP! it's become REDICULOUS!

Tips are only for restaurant servers that's it everyone else gets paid a wage from the cruise ship company.

If they want to take my money whenever they want then it's NOT A TIP it's robbery with a smile They should add all this to the price. So we will just decide whether or not to take the ride on the pirate ship!

On my last cruise in mid-2024, I made my own luggage tags by taking a screenshot of the boarding pass in the Princess smartphone app and combining it with information from the printable luggage tag in the smartphone app. It showed my name, booking number, cruise dates, stateroom number, deck name, embarkation port code, cargo door code, ship name, deck number and deck name, stateroom number and boarding pass QR code. On the flip side it had my name, street address, home phone number and cell phone number and a QR code of my contact information in vCard format. I printed them in the size of a credit card (3.37 x 2.125 inches) so that they would fit into vinyl ID badge holders and secured them to the luggage handles and to my luggage cart with clear vinyl plastic "worm" loop luggage tag straps. The tags all held up well during the trip. It sounds complicated, but once it is set up in software on a personal computer, it is easy to edit and update.

We tried alfredos, they tried to charge us for one of the free ones, did finally sorted it out, but Pizza isn't my favourite meal even though we have the plus deal. Neither did we like the fancy whippy icecream, can only handle one per cruise, very sickly with the toppings. Ours is having the cocktails at 22.00 each dosen't take long to cover the cost of pkg, plus medallion internet.we make sdure weget our monies worth.

I havn't travelled Europe on ships but I think Australia is more relaxed with what you can wear in the dining room, no thongs or shorts after 5. Just try and look neat, no holes in jeans. And covered arms, no t-shirts preferably a polo with a collar. Go up to food court if you can't be bothered to dress to standards required.

Cruising has changed in the last 20 yrs, You wouldn't have got in on formal Nights without a jacket, Our first cruise we watched how people had dressed so next cruise, we had dressed appropriately, I think since Covid, the standards have since been relaxed, we still make an effort. Depending on if winter clothes are required, not as much luggage room. So next cruise only 11 days tropical Qld, so more choices packed. Can't wait.!

We will be on the Regal Princess on November 17th!! We are excited!

I don’t tip unless you are going out of your way to help me. Otherwise you are just doing your job! I don’t wanna hear a sad story about you don’t make enough money. If that’s the case then go find a better job that pays better. I work in the public industry and I don’t expect a tip for doing what I have to do to make my customers happy. If I get a tip out of that then great. But if I don’t then great as well. It doesn’t change my job description and what I have to do

I bid $135 more than the minimum for an upgrade from an ocean view to a balcony. I placed the bid a month and a half ago. I’m going on a 12 day cruise to the Panama Canal on Oct 31. I figured if I bid a little more my chances might be better. My cruise is in 40 days and I still haven’t heard from them. The anticipation is driving me nuts. My travel advisor says that sometimes it can take as long as embarkation day. I’m hoping to hear from them soon or at the very least get a nice surprise when we board the ship.

My husband and I are about to do this for his parents, next week on the Royal Princess. What I'd love to know, Is where we go to put the ashes into the sea. I would hate to be throwing the urn overboard, as opposed to gently placing it in the water. Have any idea?

12 cruises with my CPAP and I have always used bottled drinking water only. No distilled water. Never had a problem of any kind. I was told by a factory rep that drinking water would be fine for a few days. and it has always worked for me. I have two cruises coming up this fall and I don't plan to worry about distilled water. You might look into that. Thanks

Don’t bid more for an upgrade than you would pay for the upgraded stateroom if you booked it originally. Do the math BEFORE you bid.

Don’t really get this by Princess. Every dinner includes desert.

We have a mini suite on our next cruise booked so I might try to bid for a full suite with a minimum bid and see what happens

So far we have always got the top grade we bid for when we have tried it. Went from inside room to double balcony. I don’t usually bid the minimum though but just below the good range

$60 per day mid level | x 2 people | 7 day cruise would have cost me $840. Tips I'd pay anyway. Internet I bought 2 days worth cost me $30. It cost $15 one time to have room service and medallion location delivery after that it was included the hole trip. We bought $80 worth of drinks mostly coffee house drinks and two alcohol drinks. I don't get the new deserts because I enjoy dining room deserts. So it made no sense for me. I spent $125 + tips for what would have been $840.

I have to laugh. How cruise lines are squeezing out of passengers every dollar they can for things that are ABSOLUTELY no cost to the cruise line…..just by changing the name(s) of the item.

The vegan options for Princess cruises looks great on their menu but disgusting on the plate ! Nothing looked as what was shown on this video. #SamiKohen; it was an unforgettable experience alright. One night (as offered on the menu) I was fed carrots for the main meal...CARROTS !!! Nothing else and the "chermoula" sauce that was not even blended so I given a plateful of carrots swimming in oil and garlic. I returned it begging for at least tofu added to the carrots. The "linguini with walnut sauce" was a red sauce with whole walnuts added on top as a garnish. Plant based lasagna was a plate full of sliced vegetables with no pasta. ( I was told later by the chef that there was vegan cheese on board but was uncertain why the lasagna was prepared that way) The buddha bowl was not a buddha bowl as it had no grains. I was presented a 1/2 slice of avocado and two pieces of sweet potato on a plate. I am serious as I have the photos as proof. The desserts were the only thing that looked appealing. I hope you have a better experience. I refused to eat from the "vegan" menu and was glad that the dining room has a great chef to specially prepare my meals or I would starve. That all looks delicious! Unfortunately I’m on your ship right now and accessing vegan food has been super difficult. The staff confuse it with gluten free, they can’t find the menus, and it has significantly delayed all of our meals. My “sandwich” yesterday came as cooked lettuce and tomato with no bread.

You would spend a lot more than $149 per person t the actual Magic Castle, which is an amazing experience by the ways. I would pay it.

The cruise lines are masters of psychological manipulation to better their bottom line. This also includes using customers to subsidize staff costs on the back end instead of the front end. They pool the gratuity fees to provide a target compensation range and they know the percentage of people who will take those fees off over large numbers of travelers and they have this all factored in potentially from the day you book. If you tip the crew directly you put more money in their pockets but you also impact how much other travelers pay. So it’s not how much you care about the crew but how much you care about your fellow traveler subsidizing your vacation.

Don’t bother. They have no flavor at all! Waste of calories.

I had no clue...but very happy to hear this. It sounds lovely. (I am currently chipping away at my bucket list with cruise after cruise. I wouldn't know where I would prefer.... New Zealand? Norway? The South Pacific? They all hold incredible memories.

We were on this cruise as well. It was total confusion in respect to the player meet and greets. Last minute notifications, long lines waiting. No rhyme or reason to the schedules. Players just as confused as the fans. Spent a small fortune and got to meet only about 27 of the 36 players there. Also missed out on many events. Of course we never got a chance to meet Marino. Can the fans build a class action suit against the travel agency?
