- In this video it's time to say goodbye to Jambo. I sailed with her more than 40,000 nm and we experienced a lot. But we are already looking ahead again and have a new boat, an Amel Mango. Her name is Comeback and of course we show the first pictures from on board.

You opted for a livaboard, that could have anything your home is required to have ! "Come Back" seemed to be an high-end boat at her date of construction, built by a sailor for sailors. Full-skeg. three watertight compartments and even a spare sail (😂) after all of your experiences feels, as if you did the right decission.A more modern version of an Amel, and thus far more expensive, would be a Kraken yacht.

Congrats on the new boat Martin, she looks very well maintained. I was only thinking about how daring you were to take a production cruiser with a fin rudder on such long ocean passages, well I can see that a lesson was learned.
I wonder if you had been in a twin rudder boat would the impact have lessened and less catastrophic.

Martin, first & foremost, I did not know you encountered such a disaster. That must have been truly frightening. The most important thing is that you could tell the story. I have been watching your channel for a few years now & I have missed a few episodes due to working in a different country. Your new vessel looks absolutely beautiful & she looks very well built with all that you need for extended periods at sea. Martin, so sorry 😢 to hear about Jambo sinking and your near death experience. You are living proof of good planning, being cautious w/ equipment, experience, and lots of luck!! Most of us would have decided “dry land is best from here on”! I’m sure you are planning it, but if not, you should definitely do a video series on all the good that lead to your survival and all the things you will do differently knowing what you went through. Also, I presume insurance paid up, and doing a video on the entire process w/ all the pro vs cons of the process would be nice as 99.9% of us would likely never have to deal w/ that but would be glad to do it right from the beginning in case. Very nice choice. You know the incredible cruising that Delos has done. I had 46’ ketch. I loved it. I had a Perkins 4-236, a great engine. It was a 1972 boat and engine that is still crossing oceans. Sounds like your sinking went about as good as it could. You are well organized. You will need to be with all that boat to maintain. I will continue following you as I have for years now. Sail on.
