Oh wow how amazing to see both nests. My blue tit began building her nest on 13/03/24 after sleeping in it nightly since early Jan!! We have 8 eggs as of this morning 11/04/24. She has however been brooding the eggs since egg 6 (09/04/24) so im not entirely hopeful they'll all hatch. Last year we had eggs laid from today, 11/04/23 and she laid 10, 9 hatched and all 9 fledged healthfully, even when we lost mum bird at day 10 😮😭 daddy bird stepped up and managed it solo. Im in Surrey and have a nest box camera 🤗🥚🐦🪺
I was wondering what a blue tit nest would look like not in a nest box. From what you said it sounds like tree hollows are preferred sites? Could you show an example or describe a possible ideal natural location in your next video? I am curious.
