Ah Wrens! So that's the name of the tiny birds I hear all the time. Since I moved I've always heard wrens in the morning. There's 2 big trees near my house covered in a small flock of these little dude's. Would always hear wood pigeons and collared doves in the morning at my old house. As well as the occasional jackdaw and a variety of smaller birds. (Wrens, robins, house sparrows, etc). And would always hear a Great Tit in the morning, when staying round my Nan's. Hearing it now brings back memories, it's sort of a painful happy feeling. House sparrows and robins (I'd hear robins especially often in small forests) I'd hear everywhere. As well as blackbirds. As well as occasional magpie parties half way through the day, a little gang of the cheeky guys was bullying a squirrel one time, opened my door super loud and they scattered and left it alone.
@@alanj9391 that would be the blackbird. :D Blackbirds often start their morning chatter around 3m in late spring/summer and among all sounds is the only one that wakes me up without enraging me, lol. ( bird songs in general)
Such a simple and effective video...not loud and person led, just the bird speaking for themselves. Often, simple and quiet it best. Thank you for bringing us this.
One year at my Mother's old house years ago, she went to water a hanging-basket over the front door, saw a nest in there with eggs so decided to leave it. They hatched, (it was a Spotted Fly-Catcher and we could see the babies from the step) and we were fortunate enough to see one of them take it's first flight. It only went a couple of yards before landing, but we were really excited by this. Soon after, they all moved out. It was cool.
This is quite spectacular! What an incredible amount of work went into this video to capture the fabulous pictures and the superb sound. We have had most of these birds in our garden but, as we live in London, I can't usually recognise their calls. Thank you so much. One to keep and refer to. It is also lovely to see their markings at close range.

Never ceases to amaze me too. Its all to do with the birds syrinx, located at the base of a bird's trachea, which is surrounded by an air sac. The two work together to produce and amplify the bird's song.

This is some of the best footage and sound recording of our native UK garden birds that I've seen anywhere, not just on TH-cam, congratulations! A brilliant concise run through of everything I see in my own garden (except noisy parrots swapped for your greenfinches!) in West London, and all perfectly captured and edited. I had to replay it all over again with the sound turned up. A very professional job, the BBC would be proud!
I have been getting into birds this past year and have a few feeders in my garden. Showing the male and females has helped me immensely. A very good video, Thanks 🐦
My first time on this side of TH-cam, as for the first time, I’ve now taken a moment to listen to my surroundings in the morning and it’s such a blissful and relaxing experience hearing all these bird sounds.
I heard a song outside my window this morning, it sounded beautiful and I actually began listening to the different bird calls, it’s easy to dismiss but they are so wonderful! Il be making an effort not only to listen to them from now on but to actively distinguish each bird call, the beauty of nature is right next to us if we only look 👀 ❤
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching this amazing video. So much so that I’ve subscribed and given you a thumbs up too. Please stay safe and well too
All of these birds are beautiful, whether it be their gorgeous serenades, their round, fluffy cuteness, their incredible intelligence, or their intriguingly intricate patterns. My personal favourites in this video include: Robin, Blackbird, Blue Tit, Wren, Long-tailed Tit, Pied Wagtail, House Sparrow, Magpie, and Collared Dove; But all birds shown here, there and everywhere on the internet, on photos, or spotted in real life are equally amazing in their own ways.

God blesses us with these beautiful creatures. Thank you so much for your wonderful video. We have lots of house sparrows in our garden, and these great little characters will never be taken foregranted.
Thanks for the your wonderful description my neighbour has his garden set up to feed the birds and he has all sorts of beautiful birds coming back every year as we are lucky to live in the country side in Scotland and the little birds all nest and breed in the trees just next to my back garden i love watching the little birds coming back every year now i know there breeds im going to enjoy watching them more 😁
Glad you enjoyed the video. By coincidence I was watching a video about birds in Canada the other day - loved the Northern Cardinal and Downy Woodpecker in particular and didn't know you had house sparrows too!
Thanks for this video, should be compulsory for it to be shown in schools as most adults I know can't identify even a sparrow. The birdsong is very useful too, glad to have found your channel & have subscribed.
At the age of 53 I've suddenly started paying attention to birdsong when I'm out walking. Perhaps it's a sign of getting old 😂 Is it a language? An announcement of identity and intent? Who's saying what to whom? It's becoming of great interest to the nerd in me 🤓 This video is going to be an invaluable little tool for me this summer, thank you for making and sharing 🤩
Lots of interesting questions there :) I was watching a video by BioBush about his predictions for 2070 and he suggests we will understand by then what birds are saying in their songs. He also predicts that in birds like parrots and ravens we will discover language and that through computer translation we may be able to communicate in their language. All quite mind blowing! In the meantime, good luck with your own endeavours and glad you found the video helpful.
@@MyBirdingYear One of the craziest things is that birds evolved from dinosaurs. They're so "highly" evolved, yet their form of communication seems so different to ours. Thanks again 🤩👍
Lovely! As a newcomer to the UK, I'm trying to learn to identity the visitors to our garden. Id like to start feeding birds too to attract more of them.
That was fantastic, a joy to enjoy a video without clanging music and voiceover. Wonderful to appreciate the sound, quietness and pause in birdsong. Thank you.
A very good and informative video. In fact I just shared it with my daughter who lives in the U.K. for the grandchildren’s general education. Thank you so much.
Wow, quite a variety of birds, some familiar but many new to me, since i live in Southern California, a world away. Well done video. Thanks for sharing.
Collard dove, the sound of my childhood in Hove East Sussex by Hove Park at my Nonna and Nonno’s house. So nostalgic. If I lay in bed on a hot day and close my eyes I can be taken right back to a little bedroom there. Some nice moments.
This is perfect for a complete novice. I set out to find out what the most common song I can hear is. Turns out it is wrens 😊. We get lots of parakeets too but everyone knows what they sound like around here. Noisy buggers!
Glad you found it helpful and great that you've hear wrens frequently - such a beautiful song. Don't have many parakeets where I am but I've got a group of juvenile magpies who visit the garden regularly - I would apply your description of parakeets equally to them 😊
Thank you for this. I moved to a rural location 8 weeks ago and am fortunate to have a tangled woodland at the back of my flat. I put food out for the birds and other wildlife every day and have seen most of these plus a greater spotted woodpecker and siskin. Also 4 grey squirrels so have set up a squirrel hotel for them so they stop taking all the food on the bird feeders. At night I have foxes and hedgehogs as well as stray cats. I feed them all. I feed any hungry creature that comes to my door. Previous tenant must have fed them to as they come right up to the patio doors looking for food if the feeders are empty LOL. They give so much pleasure.

Never seen one before, and not seen since. Great video! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed watching and always great to hear about the birds that visit gardens. Hopefully the goldfinch will be back soon!
I think it's been a couple years since we had any green finches in the garden, but thoroughly enjoy seeing all the others.
Hope they come back soon and glad you enjoyed the video
God blesses us with these beautiful creatures. Thank you so much for your wonderful video. We have lots of house sparrows in our garden, and these great little characters will never be taken foregranted.
Awesome video. Bird songs fill me with happiness and a sense of calmness. Thank you for making this ❤
You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching!
Thanks for the your wonderful description my neighbour has his garden set up to feed the birds and he has all sorts of beautiful birds coming back every year as we are lucky to live in the country side in Scotland and the little birds all nest and breed in the trees just next to my back garden i love watching the little birds coming back every year now i know there breeds im going to enjoy watching them more 😁
Thank you, that's such a nice comment to read. Glad the video was helpful and thanks for watching!
I love the birds...
Amazing video...
Thank you for sharing !
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
Enjoyed your video. I live in Canada 🇨🇦 and don't have most of these species. It was fun to see these birds in your area.
Glad you enjoyed the video. By coincidence I was watching a video about birds in Canada the other day - loved the Northern Cardinal and Downy Woodpecker in particular and didn't know you had house sparrows too!
Wonderful! Just what I was looking for in order to learn more about our feathered friends. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
What a lovely watch. This has prompted me to be more interested in the birds that visit my garden. Thanks.
That's wonderful to hear. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!
Thanks for this video, should be compulsory for it to be shown in schools as most adults I know can't identify even a sparrow.
The birdsong is very useful too, glad to have found your channel & have subscribed.
Thank you for your video of birds in an English garden. Most enjoyable.
At the age of 53 I've suddenly started paying attention to birdsong when I'm out walking. Perhaps it's a sign of getting old 😂
Is it a language? An announcement of identity and intent? Who's saying what to whom? It's becoming of great interest to the nerd in me 🤓
This video is going to be an invaluable little tool for me this summer, thank you for making and sharing 🤩
Just beautiful, it is a lovely term " feathered friends" they provide so much pleasure. Thank you for your great video.
They do! Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching.
Lovely! As a newcomer to the UK, I'm trying to learn to identity the visitors to our garden. Id like to start feeding birds too to attract more of them.
Glad the video was helpful. It does depend where you are in the UK but these are most of the more common garden visitors. Thanks for watching!
@@MyBirdingYear we're in Carlisle, Cumbria. I've started identifying several birds now and aim to get that bird feeder up soon ☺️
Welcome to the UK Anne! I hope you enjoy the birds here 😌❤️
2:29 Oh my gosh! The red admiral too!! This video is excellent :)
Thank you! I was very lucky to have the Red Admiral fly into the scene :)
@@MyBirdingYear It’s the most beautiful footage!
Superb quality footage of these birds!
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!
That was fantastic, a joy to enjoy a video without clanging music and voiceover. Wonderful to appreciate the sound, quietness and pause in birdsong. Thank you.
Beautifully filmed. Thanks a million for the names as well. They're the same birds seen in Ireland! Fantastic sound as well.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video.
A very good and informative video. In fact I just shared it with my daughter who lives in the U.K. for the grandchildren’s general education. Thank you so much.
Your welcome, glad you enjoyed the video
Wow, quite a variety of birds, some familiar but many new to me, since i live in Southern California, a world away. Well done video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching.
Collard dove, the sound of my childhood in Hove East Sussex by Hove Park at my Nonna and Nonno’s house.
So nostalgic.
If I lay in bed on a hot day and close my eyes I can be taken right back to a little bedroom there.
Some nice moments.
Nothing like a magpie to ruin my relaxing morning in the garden listening to sweet bird song 😅
At least now i can identify which sounds are coming from which bird and recognise more birds.
Thank you for this lovely video
Glad you found it helpful and thank you for watching
Very good shots with the voices of birds!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching.
Lovely birds and photography. A breakfast treat for me. Thank you.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video.
What a superb video! Clear, informative & so beautiful to watch. I've learnt so much.....
Glad it was helpful and thank you for watching.
Fabulous guide - love the fact I can also hear the songs !! Just what I was looking for !!
Glad it was helpful and thank you for watching!
Don't have many parakeets where I am but I've got a group of juvenile magpies who visit the garden regularly - I would apply your description of parakeets equally to them 😊
Wonderful. Really lifts my spirits seeing and hearing these and other birds.
Glad you enjoyed the video, they have the same effect on me
Many thanks for creating and posting, wonderful
You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
That sounds wonderful - what an amazing variety of wildlife you're seeing. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching.
61 years old and I know something more than what kfc looks like!
Much appreciated.
You're very welcome, glad you found the video useful. Thanks for watching!
What a brilliant video. Beautifully shot and edited Helped us identify what was in our garden. Thanks for your hard work and patience.
Thank you for your kind comment, glad it was helpful.
