For those who think that these commandos are pretty shitty or how they make commandos look bad you have to remember that they just got out of a crash landing so it's most likely plausible that their armor was damaged each of them have scratches and dents in the army so that would probably explain why they were able to be gone down so easily because they have no shields
That and they were most likely in the Katarn Mark 1 armor, as this happened early in the war, the armor could take blaster and lazer rounds very well, the cannons on droid starfighter would win on a direct hit. The later Mark 3 Katarn armor could stop a light cannon round, and take a direct grenade hit, with a clone jumping directly on top of a grenade. Clone commandos were ridiculously tough, but still flesh and blood.
I think we just don’t see it as the same scale battle as one another. My perception is immediately upon exiting hyperspace they were set upon by an entire fleet. Just one droid control ship has 139,000 battle droids, 1500 troop carriers, 1500 vulture droids and 6000 tanks. We see one droid control ship AND a capital ship. The capital ship has 1,500,000 droids and so many starfighters it doesn’t even quantify. So in essence this platoon of clone commandos went against a possible force of more than 1,600,000 droids, completed their objective and atleast one made it back to Coruscant. So in the right perspective what they accomplished was a miracle with or without any armor deficiencies.
I like to think this is why Yoda went out of his way to get clones to humanise themselves. Like in the series when he's telling the clones, "To the force, very different you all look." or something like that. Because he wants them to be more than blindly loyal weapons. That's probably the point. It was a reference to a real-life region and city. It's like if they added a planet called Virginia and its capital city was Richmond.
@@HolyknightVader999 I'd think starting to build and army of their own to assist the clones and hopefully gain a strong enough army to potentially defend against a possible betrayal would be a good start. Of course actually doing that is a whole different story, considering the logistics, economy and just general time and resources they would need to do all that, and the millions of other things that could go wrong. Really, just using an entire army of soldiers who's origins aren't fully understood and who may very well be traitors that severely outnumber you and could destroy you if they felt like it wasn't a good idea to begin with, but sadly the Jedi just weren't fully prepared for all out warfare because...well at that point they were pretty confident in their own abilities and strenght, arrogant even. At least most of them were, so they kind of had to accept the clones even if it wasn't the best idea.
@@Malenrick Yeah but id imagine Palpatine would see this happening and initiate order 66 sooner. However, I remember seeing a comic where he was testing it during the clone wars, so mabye they would have had time.
I think the original EU cannon of the clones already knowing about order 66 in the form of a contingency plan made the plot a lot more deep than the chip explanation.
well there was that scene in one of the first episodes that Yoda taught the clones about how different they are from each other, reminded them how different they are. The point is that Yoda is wise, and senses great disturbances with each clone, but they're are good clones. so most of them have betrayed the jedi during Order 66 but not the entire clone army. Rex, Wolfe, Gregg and possibly more still new what kind of orders they were given and still carried some out BUT when Rex recognised that former Jedi master Krell, was giving out orders that even the clones recognised that there were better plans than leading the troopers into battle and sacrificing some lives. So arrested him and another cline who thought "Good soldiers follow orders", the point is not all the clones troopers are as bad as they seem.
I fuckin love this comic, when I was younger I owned a physical copy and I read it all the time! Now all I have left to remember it by is the commando clone trooper that came with it .
This isn't a suprise, Yoda never really liked the Clone Troopers anyway, like Master Rahm Kota. Rahm Kota never like the Clone Troopers and saw them as nothing but "silhouettes", and he instead seeked real human beings who actually thinks (no offense to Captain Rex). And remind you, this was before order 66, before TFU game. P.S And the Jedi knew order 66.
@Adam and Eve That's why I said, Humans would actually think like a soldier like what you said about the Clones, but theirs a total difference between the two.
@Adam and Eve idk about the mandalorian part, it's true he beat the living force out of 5 jedi with his hands but Madalore the ultimate held his own against Revan. And in my book revan equal... A lot of jedi and sith but more than 5 for sure
@Adam and Eve idk if Jango could do as good as mandalore the ultimate against Revan. Mandalore fought revan in close combat, constantly striking to counter the use of force power by revan. (hard to focus on the force, when you have a 6.4 mandalorian trying to bach your skull open). You're right I have no doubt Jango is better with a blaster than MTU but I doubt it would be the best approach against Revan. (allowing Revan to use the force in a fight isn't the best idea of all time, the guy was so force thirsty he had multiple master jedi has a padawan.)
Oviedo and Aviles are the names of two capital cities of Asturias, a region in the northern Spain. Their pronunciation in Spanish sounds great for the Star Wars universe
Nice to see more love for the Tales comics, even if a lot of them are either non-canon (Skippy the Force-sensitive droid, for one, although it's actually an inspiring tall tale in Legends lore) or semi-canon (the George R. Binks storyline might have actually happened in a different form in actual lore, in my opinion). Also, Oviedo was most likely killed by Palpatine there.
This was a great comic. You could get it with the 2 action figure comic pack. This one came with action figures of Rc-28-8 and a super battle droid, i still have them and the comic!
I always wondered, when and how did Darth Sidious put the "order 66" command into the clones? Did he pay off the kaminoans or was it something he got jango to do for him?
The inhibitor chips were necessary for the clone wars and therefore current canon interpretation of the clones. They are portrayed as loyal to the republic but ultimately more loyal to their brothers and fellow soldiers, which include the jedi. They would not have carried out order 66 as shown in revenge of the Sith I like to think of the old legends clones and current canon clones as seperate characters. Both are similar yet different interpretations of a slave army that unfortunately cannot coexist
I imagine the moment Commander Gree and that clone scout stepped behind Yoda and before he decapitated them both, Yoda remembered Theta Twenty-Eight Eight saying "As you wish, sir."
I feel this story kind of undermines the small moments during the first episode of season 1 of Clone Wars. Yoda said the Clones that went with him that all were different in the Force and he treated them like individuals and not as monsters. In contrast, he trusted his men to fight with him and stopped to ease them.
As another comment said, this could be another reason why yoda was so adamant about making the clones feel like unique individuals, because otherwise they are just soulless killing machines.
That's not part of Legends continuity, this was written way before the Clone War TV series, lookup The Clone Wars multimedia project and you will understand
This reminds me of how Jedi Master Rahm Kota didn’t trust the clones at all and went on to build his own army of regular Human soldiers

Jedi may have even been worse, they knew what they were doing and went along anyway leading to most of their deaths. It would be interesting to see a video of all the similarities between a clone and Jedi. Take away force abilities and the first handful of years of a Jedi´s life and your left with two very similar individuals.
Yeah, at least in legends (I don't know if it's canon anymore) the sith were a force sensitive species, and the Jedi of the old republic slaughtered them to extinction because they used the dark side
well not all of the jedi choose to be slaves for the senate some even refused to join the active war which would lead to their survival (Master Zao being one of them)
I love your work by the way, keep it up.
I very much appreciate that Robert. It is great to hear that you are enjoying the videos!
You're very welcome, the quality of your work has been going up steadily for the last couple of years, even somebody brain-slugged would enjoy your work or rather at least the slug would.
@@starwarsreadingclub When I saw Mace I was inspired to ask this question: On a semi related note, could Lord Vader use the Infinity Gauntlet? He is the Chosen One after all, and technically the Gems could have changed hands many times. Given that the stones could have come to The Galaxy Of Old. The question is would Vader search for it to save Padme?
This story shows Yoda probably sensed 66 coming. And it probably helped him be ready on the Wookie home world when his own force turned on him
Good of Yoda to share his distrust with his fellow Jedi. Warning them to be on guard will most certainly be helpful later on, if the clone troopers suddenly turn on them.
love the clone wars stories. its one part of the extended universe that i am enamored with and i hope Disney doesn't rip it away from Canon.
George Lucas approved all the clone wars related stories right?
Star Wars Comic Packs Tales #22
I have this pack, the blank clone commandos are pretty rare.
This story is one of my favorites! It is also the first Star Wars comic ive read
This video was great! Very concise, you didn’t do that repeat thing you did on a lot of videos. Great interesting story too.
That would explain how Yoda survived Order 66.
I forget where I saw the comic but I love the little comedy bit when there's a few troops walking with some jedi asking what Order they're on and they reply various numbers between 62 and 65
I have this comic! You got it with a commando figure YEARS ago. The comic was pretty awesome, if just a but short.
Can you do Boshek? He was a low level force sensitive smuggler who beat Han's record.
WHAT!? Blasphemy!
@@EchthelionII well in legends he was going brag to Han before greedo got there.
@@emmanuelmorris7653 Did he die, or what happened to him, and what (if any) book/s is he in?
He is live in legends he did some for the rebels and was on improving his force abilities, it improved to the point he could read minds. Unfortunately I can't think of comics he was in.
@@emmanuelmorris7653 What about books?
Yoda decapping 3 clones in 1 swoop is in my top 3 SW scenes. Great video!

Yooooo! This is fron the Star Wars Tales comic from dark horse!! I have this. I loved this series.
Wait wait wait...there's a Legends system named after my home region in northern Spain (Asturias) where Clone Commandos had to protect a guy named after the capital city (Oviedo)?
That's probably the point. It was a reference to a real-life region and city. It's like if they added a planet called Virginia and its capital city was Richmond.
But in typical Jedi fashion did nothing of substance about it.
What could they do? Fire their own army while quintillions of droids came for them?
Found yet another great Star Wars channel. UNLIMITED POWERRRRRRRR
"They are professional soldiers trained to fight and die if necessary in the war against the separatists." (Colonel)
4:33 “…Died to sudden respiratory faliures”
Like getting force choked to death, perhaps?
Oh I remember that comic when I was way younger. Never thought about this at all.
Mace Windu looks like he’s about to wax his entire body again
Asturias is my province and its capital its Oviedo XD. Im from Spain.
well there was that scene in one of the first episodes that Yoda taught the clones about how different they are from each other, reminded them how different they are.
@Adam and Eve When disney retcons jango as actually being mandalorian
*Visible Disgust*
I came here to hear "Video ex-po-saaay" wasn't disapointed. Love it, just like the videos.
I knew this would be good . I don't know why I keep passing on the suggestion list.
Oh man I had that comic, it came with a commando and super battle droid figure. I must've read it a dozen times
Oviedo and Aviles are the names of two capital cities of Asturias, a region in the northern Spain. Their pronunciation in Spanish sounds great for the Star Wars universe
"if not for meee....for sudden respiratory issues!"
"For many, blind obedience, or selfless duty, may be sufficient, but never for all."
Oviedo is the capital of Asturias in earth.
Im from Asturias
I only watch these to hear the blue guy say
"In this video expose"
RC10-80? Who the heck. I missed something. :D

I’m not a fan of how Samuel L. Jackson is drawn in the comics.

Lmao I saw it right after seeing this comment
Goddamn these vids are so good, I just love how you talk about the comics
did you know that oviedo and asturias are places in Spain?
I kept waiting for the “if not for me” but it just kept going to social media and patreons
I wonder how he felt about the clones during his mission with three clones on the moon of Rugosa when he was sent to negotiate with the Toydarians?
Yoda is a savage!!
I left a like for *RC-1080*
Nice to see Legends content as always
Trust you not your master does
Lol
Oviedo is the capital City of Asturias, an Spanish region.
Very non Star Wars name, if you ask me.
I always wondered, when and how did Darth Sidious put the "order 66" command into the clones? Did he pay off the kaminoans or was it something he got jango to do for him?
Old on the repsone but star wars the clone wars expanded on how that was possible
This is why I think the inhibitor chips were stupid.
The inhibitor chips were necessary for the clone wars and therefore current canon interpretation of the clones. They are portrayed as loyal to the republic but ultimately more loyal to their brothers and fellow soldiers, which include the jedi. They would not have carried out order 66 as shown in revenge of the Sith
I like to think of the old legends clones and current canon clones as seperate characters. Both are similar yet different interpretations of a slave army that unfortunately cannot coexist
Ah yes, Space-Colonel Sanders the separatist...
That would explain why my 5 Dollar Fillup tasted a little too much like secession yesterday

Oviedo pronounces O-vi-A-d-o as separate letters almost.
