That’s the thing, Menno talks about how “feelings” are an important factor to curb the obesity epidemic, but boneheads like you will take away the opposite message
@@eugenelevin9809 Oh no! I didn't repeat Menno's message and stated my own opinion, therefore I'm a 'bonehead' according to the mighty fanboy Eugene. Lol, have a word with yourself.
@@Fatfrogsrock reality > feelings has become a dog whistle for people who disregard the fact that feelings affect reality in a quantifiable way. I constantly keep telling Menno that the way he presents data on this topic attracts idiots like you. He doesn’t seem to understand that his way of presenting facts may be a net negative for the obesity epidemic.
Obesity has been so mistreated, misunderstood and fat shamed into submission. But it shouldn’t be. I am lucky enough to have went through Mennos courses(The Best! The only thing that actually seems to have given me a solid direction, and methods of results.) And I live in the land of fat people(guess where). Abs are not the goal here. Outrunning fatness is our goal. That’s my into, now let’s talk. I like how Menno used mind set framing to warn about “A Fatal Illusion”(chapter tittle in Mennos book) which is just a suggestion sort of thing. Framing in your mind that you are broken is a horrible way to undermine your efforts toward normalcy(aka unfattening oneself). We should make an effort to have positive body outlook NMW. So we feel that we are competent in achieving our goals. Also, so we do not validate and justify obesity. I have been, it is very uncomfortable. Clothes do not even fit well. Seriously though! I have to add. I am not criticizing, just adding. No one is going deny the link obesity has on pathology. But Menno is rite. Obesity is related to disease, not a disease in itself. Obesity is not a behavioral issue(behavior is the cure). It is not a metabolic issue for mostly everyone. It is an environment problem. We never have before had an obesity epidemic until industrialized civilization. A necessary evil to achieve such population density I guess. However, we have manipulated our nutritional environment to the point that we are ill equipped to interact with it anymore. What I mean is simple. It is very difficult to achieve satiety without becoming over weight and under nourished, in most well developed countries. Our modern day food stuffs were selected based on ease of eating, good tasting, and shelf life. This selection process left out satiety and nutrition. Wheat, rice, oils, and sweet fruits, replaced a more nutritious and lower energy by volume food supply, with what makes one fat. Now you can’t eat your fill without becoming obese. Let me say that a different way. You can not eat a normal appetite quantity without getting fat. Unless you select your foods like a fitness scientist. Most people are not over eating at all, the way their body sees it. You should see it that way too. Instead we have pathologized our appetite in a case of false cause. It was the food, more than it was you. Unatural foods that are extremely energy dense. Your body knows you have to achieve a food volume consistent with what it takes to get the nutrients you need. But it’s just filling up on junk in the modern world. That is perhaps the only trouble we are facing with obesity. Put down the bread and pick up some broccoli. Because the modern world also has lots of great choices. But that will require mindfulness and “making the road to success the path of least resistance”.
Even with keto and eating incredibly calorie dense foods, most tend to undereat rather than overeat - because proper hunger signaling works because meat and vegetables and such are ancestrally appropriate as well.
Reality > Feelings

@@eugenelevin9809 Fair enough man, let's not argue on the internet. Go and tell a family member you love them, merry Christmas.
Great summation of the findings, esp. regarding impact of pathologizing obesity on individual behavior. Well done.
You taught me everything and got my knowledge to the next level thanks to you. You are very underrated. You deserve 1M
Very distracted by the positioning of the stag horns...
I couldn't resist, ha.

As long as the person doesn't have anything medically wrong with them, then their obesity isn't a disease.
Grazie.
I knew it, you are Herne the hunter...
HAES will not like this 😜
Obesity, tabagism, alcoholism and other drug addictions are not diseases. These are bad habits that need to be overcome.
