I've grown several nice zoa gardens over the years and agree to everything in video, especially the nutrient params However, there's a point of potential disaster here i wish was made more clear. Healthy zoa/paly gardens thrive in nutrient rich water, but so do nuisance algae. Note how clean his tanks are. Keeping a nitrate level of 10 and phosphates at .1 in a 4 month old tank is virtually impossible. Nuisance algaes take hold suddenly , your nutrients bottom, and water changes make things worse. Most zoas can't handle this and will melt or recede. Getting those nutrient levels up and keeping a clean tank takes time, attention., and a bit of black art. Gorgeous tanks. I'm not too far from toledo and would like to make a trip.
So my levels are really high but I don't understand why my Palys are doing fine but my Zoas are receding... should water changes still help if I use an rodi system?
Trying to find an ID for the Zoas you showed in 2:09-2:10ish checked ur website but couldn’t find anything that looked similar. Please let me know very interested!
Great coral spot light and well presented! Been reefing for 17 years or so and found almost everything you mentioned to be spot on when it comes to these corals. For the love of God, please QT your corals folks! A ounce of prevention beats the hell out of a two ton pallet of cure 8 days a week!!!
I think you have a unique perspective as a shop owner or worker many of us don’t get to experience as we watch from home. If you are short on video ideas I would be interested to see the mistakes you’ve made in the shops ie about the big fish wipe out, tank crashes, how you take shipment and putting the stock into tanks
Great video! I love your collection and all those colonies! By keeping the z's & p's on larger substrate...does that make it easier to frag? (sorry if you covered and I missed it.)
I just got my first zoa blondies doesn't seem to be opening fully it's been 3 days my tank is considered to be Clean for it being 8months old should I move the zoa higher up its on sand bed at moment crazy my stony corals are thriving zoa is not happy
Amazing collection of Zoas you guys have there March. Beauty setup. The zoas pictured at 8:08 are absolutely insane- any chance someone can tell me what those are? Ps. My first order from Fragbox arrives tomorrow. 🙏👍
Love your love for Zoas. Just recently saw your video on you visit to Cherry Corals 😍 I have two questions for you... 1: How do you keep super fast growing Zoas from taking over a garden? Calculated placement of Aiptasia X? 2: Have you gotten Zoa frags in where some just won't open? What do you do when their friends (other colors) right next to the do open?
Good day, I would not interconnect other tanks with a main system if you run into a problem it will effect everything not a good idea to be honest with you. Thank You 🙏. Peace Out. ✌️
I love your store. Can't wait to visit again in person. Def, 5 star coral IMO. I personally am having some zoa issues. Mine are stretching. I do have a shitty light system....I use fluval marine sea...once upon a time I was new to this hobby. Just purchased 2 ai primes 16HD. So here's hoping its a lighting issue.
Hey guys! I love your stuff- 2 questions on this video- I really like the pink-ish zoas with the blue centers, pink ring, and what looks like maybe torqouise lashes on the outside at around the 6:44 mark?... and then #2- the the multi colored zoas around the 8:34/8:35 mark- that have the blue eye in the very middle, then green around the eye, then the orange-ish ring, and thick purple outer lashes? Can you tell me their names? i dont' think you mentioned them?
Thanks for the video! I have a frag of Utter Chaos in my SPS reef. It started out with 4 heads (about 15 months ago) and now it has about 11 heads. Then again, my nitrates are at about 1-2. I’ll slowly make some changes 👍
Question for you March I few zoas and Paly the are pretty leggy (as we would say in the garden world). Two I don't know the name of but one is a single head at the moment of purple monster which from my understanding are usually tighter to the rocks. I run a maxspec razor at the moment, peak is about 55% blues and 5% white and on a 40 IM I run the Nero 3 at 25-56% random flow. Tank ATM is a few lps (Duncan, micromussa and a favia bother of those on the sand) yuma, and a few other mushrooms.
Hi , by any chance do you happen to know the name of a coral that releases colorful substance in the water? I dunno if it's a coral but I found it in the sea. 😅
Hey I'm new to this, I'm trying to get a saltwater tank, is this compatible with a dog puffer fish? Any salt water fish i should stay away from with these? Thanks
Guessing zoas might he hest as one of the LAST additions to a small system? Any recommendations on other fairly easy to care for species.that would do OK in a low-medium light and low-med flow tank?
Hey March love your videos man I'm definitely a fan, speaking of fish and ich ,I'm not shure what's going on with my tank recently I had overdosed iodine and crashed my whole tank and killed my xenias and clown, I've since started over my snails are still alive and I've got some more xenias and zoanthids doing great,I've done atleaste 3 water changes since the crash so the levels should be down now,I've tried re introducing 4 different clowns and they've all died over night how can this be I've never experienced so much trouble with clowns there's no ammonia no nitrite, could it be ich I don't see anything out of the ordinary ,bristle worms ,and tiny white worms could I have some kind of bacteria?
Heard you mention you use Redsea AB and reefroids but what where some of the others you mentioned? Also as your growing these colonies do you mind sharing the light parameters you're using on say an AI or something similar and how much light are you giving them daily?
How often do you feed them? I am getting some zoas and they will be the only coral in the tank aside from the hammer and GSP. Once a week? Twice a week? Broadcast with the AB+ or target? How much? I figure my zoas will be 3-4 heads.
Hi from Halifax, first video I caught and it was great! I see you caught Remy's attention and he has the same question I have. I see larger substrate under the zoas. Are the zoas on tiles or do they also grow on to the larger substrate. I could see how it would make fragging easier. Thanks again for the video, please do a fragging video. I would like to see a second opinion, I assume most of us new reefers have only seen Remy's fragging videos. I have two 80 gal reef ready frag tanks and 80 gal display. My frag tank has been up for 2 months and I have a variety of 30 beginner corals.
zoas and xenia in my system just melts :( iv tried dosing iodine but only larger palythoas stay alive. all my other lps and softies are doing great and explode in growth.. Iv always wanted a zoa garden but i cant keep them..
Another video of fragging them and additional tips would be great

100% this is a good point I should have touched on. There is a balance between nutrient rich and algae control.
So my levels are really high but I don't understand why my Palys are doing fine but my Zoas are receding... should water changes still help if I use an rodi system?
What are those at 2:08, they're beautiful. Looks like they should be called Tron Zoas.
That aptasia at 4:08 tho. That a hassle to get out of the tank. I find the aptasia predators also like zoas
Trying to find an ID for the Zoas you showed in 2:09-2:10ish checked ur website but couldn’t find anything that looked similar. Please let me know very interested!
Same. Did you find any info on it?
Great coral spot light and well presented! Been reefing for 17 years or so and found almost everything you mentioned to be spot on when it comes to these corals. For the love of God, please QT your corals folks! A ounce of prevention beats the hell out of a two ton pallet of cure 8 days a week!!!
Thank you ! Means a lot coming from someone with so much experience !
Whoa the zoanthic colony look incredible beautiful
I have a few different zoas in my tank can't wait to see them grow out 🤙
I used to keep zoas, I miss it. I had over 120 different kinds
I think you have a unique perspective as a shop owner or worker many of us don’t get to experience as we watch from home. If you are short on video ideas I would be interested to see the mistakes you’ve made in the shops ie about the big fish wipe out, tank crashes, how you take shipment and putting the stock into tanks
omg I could start a whole channel just documenting mistakes
Great video from beginning to end. That's what I'm talking about!! Wish I could give you 2 thumbs up.

Very impressive reef. Im pulling my hair out learning salt water Aquarium fish/corals ...Dang alot of info! Thanks !!😊
Great video! I love your collection and all those colonies! By keeping the z's & p's on larger substrate...does that make it easier to frag? (sorry if you covered and I missed it.)
I saw that too and wondered about that I might have to try something like that.
At 2:15 what variant is that Zoa!
What is the name of the one at 2:10?
Best video yet, more like this please 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧

hi mate, what zoas's name on video 2:05 ? thanks
Thanks March. They are beautiful.
I just got my first zoa blondies doesn't seem to be opening fully it's been 3 days my tank is considered to be Clean for it being 8months old should I move the zoa higher up its on sand bed at moment crazy my stony corals are thriving zoa is not happy
What caused the system crash? Things we can avoid
Love those Zoas
Man!

Amazing collection of Zoas you guys have there March. Beauty setup.
The zoas pictured at 8:08 are absolutely insane- any chance someone can tell me what those are?
Ps. My first order from Fragbox arrives tomorrow. 🙏👍

I have a 120 gallon tank want to do a all soft coral tank what do you suggest for corals was thinking about palys and leathers
Great video, great looking zoas.
Great video vary helpful
Good day, I would not interconnect other tanks with a main system if you run into a problem it will effect everything not a good idea to be honest with you.
Thank You 🙏. Peace Out. ✌️
Great video idea so to talk about kalkwasser in top off water. When to use it and benefits.

Did the light fix it , i have same problem here
Very informative. Will be popping down to my LFS for a few
When will you have these zoas available for sale so many nice zoas wish that they were on the website
2:13 what are these
Is Zooplankton a good all around coral food?
I already know my first salt tank is gonna have a Zoa garden. I had a full original set of Pokémon cards as a kid... Gotta catch em all!
thanks for the tipps!
Awesome video.
nice video, im glad i found your channel, wow the chalice at the end is fire!
great advice
Mine hate higher light. They love PAR of around 50
Waiting for the goni video. Just found your channel and it’s very informative to watch. Keep up the great work
You got it!
Hey March! Thanks for the content. What salt do you use?
Is it possible to keep the camera as steady as possible and to focus on each coral a bit longer? Love your videos but getting motion sickness:(
Hey guys! Will the cleaner shrimp be able to clean the parasites you listed that eat the zoas?
Awesome zoas .. what kind of substrate is that ?
How do you feed them
Great information and beautiful colors! What kind of camera and filter do you use for recording?
Thanks for the video! I have a frag of Utter Chaos in my SPS reef. It started out with 4 heads (about 15 months ago) and now it has about 11 heads. Then again, my nitrates are at about 1-2. I’ll slowly make some changes 👍
What gravel is that in the basement tank
I had Zoas growing right up against my carpet anemone. They were the only coral in the tank that completely ignored the sting
my phos and nitrates are 0.02 and 2ppm and my zoas are growing very well
what kind of substrate is that?

Hi , by any chance do you happen to know the name of a coral that releases colorful substance in the water? I dunno if it's a coral but I found it in the sea. 😅
Hello can you tell me what would cause zoas to stay halfway open? I'm having that issue right now. I'm losing sleepp!!!
Hey I'm new to this, I'm trying to get a saltwater tank, is this compatible with a dog puffer fish? Any salt water fish i should stay away from with these? Thanks
This is a truly eye candy clip, but I'm so jealous now :(
May I ask what type of substrates that you use for your Zoanthids tank? I just start my tank and don't want to use sand. Thank you very much
Hi great video can u tell me 100% flow which be middle to high ?
Guessing zoas might he hest as one of the LAST additions to a small system? Any recommendations on other fairly easy to care for species.that would do OK in a low-medium light and low-med flow tank?
Awesome video and great setup you have created! Curious, what is the substrate you are using for your zoa's?
caribea sea crushed coral, its the best
What is your Feeding routine for the zoa tank
Thanks

Nice, how high are your led lights, like height from Zoas?
What parameters do you suggest for Zoas
What par would
You say is low medium or high
What do you keep your alk at?
Do you use any filter for the video? I am looking to buy some.
What do you put them on to make them grow round?
Sunny Ds are my favorite
My zoas did great for a few years but the growth has stopped the past couple years and I ln not sure why
How often do you feed them? I am getting some zoas and they will be the only coral in the tank aside from the hammer and GSP. Once a week? Twice a week? Broadcast with the AB+ or target? How much? I figure my zoas will be 3-4 heads.
What lights do you keep over the frag tank?
If looking for an idea for a video, try a video on keeping a reef tank without a sump!
Ive heard somewhere that theyre actually more of a anemone than an actual coral.
So there would be no benefit in feeding zoas reef roids or Reef Energy AB+?
Are you selling them?
Why my zoa not open?
Many thanks March 👍😀🏴
So how do you fix zoas that have closed up because of diatoms
Hi from Halifax, first video I caught and it was great! I see you caught Remy's attention and he has the same question I have. I see larger substrate under the zoas. They would grow over the large grade gravel
Great job March! Could this be the first video of a coral spotlight? :)
😉
What are the light blue fish in there?
Good advice! Do you have an issue with nuisance algae considering those higher phosphate numbers?
nope not at all
zoas and xenia in my system just melts :( iv tried dosing iodine but only larger palythoas stay alive. all my other lps and softies are doing great and explode in growth.. Iv always wanted a zoa garden but i cant keep them..
Those plates they are glued to. Begat size are they...
any idea why my zoas dont seem to be growing, and seem to be losing color?
What rock is that???
What type of sand bed do you use .in your frag system?
Idk tho. I still have to stick with my kenya tree coral cause they eat fish flakes. Easiest to feed.
