    Nice. This was posted 15 minutes after my zoa mystery pack from tidal gardens was delivered. Must be fate lol

    Glad to see this as I'm one of the few Zoa only tank owners. It's a highly addictive hobby.

    Great video Matthew!! Got started in saltwater watching some of your videos! Remember the move video with all the buckets, and still have your recommended equipment list saved!!! Been at a standstill for alot of reasons, but a zoa garden would be an nice start back in!!

      Thanks! And a zoa garden is definitely a great way to get back into the hobby. I actually have created a no more than three tanks running at a time, but I have four because I don't count the zoa garden because it's sooooo easy!

    I'm an odd ball. I am all about the zoas. I'm obsessed with having only zoas and palys in a tank. Maybe some acans too... but I am fully into a large zoa display.

    Have a Fluval evo 13.5. I actually had an issue with nutrients being too low causing my zoas to not grow or grow very slow. Even caused a hairy shroom to shrivel up. Said simply they do like a bit higher parameters than other sps lps corals.

    I got my first reef tank this year in February. I’ve got an anemone that’s doing really well. I got my first zoa frag a few weeks ago and the polyps hardly ever open and never fully. I can’t work out why 🤷‍♀️

    • @matthewbrstv38
      @matthewbrstv38 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isn't that strange. I have the same luck with gsp sometimes. It's supposed to be the easiest coral to care for but 90% of the time, it just wastes away in my tank!

    Hey man, nice tank. My question is what do you use as a lid? Why do I see so many tanks without lids on TH-cam but when I try it my fish jump out of the tank ?

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tanks like the Innovative Marine Nuvo 14 tank in this video come with a lid included with the tank. A lot of people will remove the lid while filming, but have the lid in place when they're away from the tank 🙂

    Wouldn't risk having these in my home. At some point you're gonna have to take them out or clean the tank. Good luck with that.

    Faites-vous des changements d'eau partiels ? quel pourcentage hebdomadaire ? Je veux faire mon zoa gargen, mais avec un aquarium de 10 gallons. Serait-ce 7 litres d'eau à chaque changement ou n'est-il pas nécessaire d'en changer autant ?

      For the IM 14 gallon, you'll want the 16mm to 1/2" Loc Line adapter, then the 1/2" Loc-Line Random Flow Generator

    I’m immediately put off by the palytoxcin 😮😮😮. So just touching Zoa’s can be lethal?

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Simply touching a zoanthid or palythoa rarely causes any sort of reaction. When it's most likely to cause problems is when you're fragging them (cutting them) and they get into an open cut or into your eye/mouth. If you wear proper PPE like gloves, eye protection, and a mask while fragging, chances for something bad happening are very very low.

      Couldn’t agree more. I used to live in Orlando and shopped at WWC. When I relocated I couldn’t believe how much more affordable corals were elsewhere. WWC pricing is like shopping at an airport.

    Informative video, but honestly I feel like that danger warning is pretty unnecessary. I’ve never heard of or seen a single person become sick from them. It’s like creating a video about installing a drier or something and giving a stern warning that a hot drier can burn you. How realistic is the danger posed to someone from a hot drier? About as realistic as the danger from Zoas.

    • @matthewbrstv38
      @matthewbrstv38 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I definitely understand that. My concern is not so much from zoas, but that most beginners won't know a paly from a zoa. I have a friend who almost died from palys, not realizing they were toxic. So I'll always error on the side of caution with these corals, just to make beginners aware. But point well made that the risk from zoas is very low!
