This comment made my week, Thanks... the goal of this video was to highlight things I wish someone had told me years ago and reduce learning curve for hobbyists. Flow can be challenging to get right, especially with poor guidelines like low, medium, or strong. The truth is all species require a combination of all 3. Thanks again 😊
@@AquariumSurge there’s a really good lecture by Jake Adam’s I think it’s called flow Masterclass or something. But these two videos combined.Really compliment each other
nicely done.. i use the complete aquarium as the water column.. jet on the back and front circulate clockwise.. or reverse to flow the other way around instead of the middle swirling
I saw you were using vinegar to clean your MP60s. I’d recommend to start using citric acid instead because the vinegar has been linked to the magnets busting.
@dazsboxofwater I was actually born and raised in Surrey. If you really want a seaswirl just email Ed (owner). He is pretty responsive and sure he would ship. There used to be devices similar called wavysea, but they stopped making them. Probably not enough sales for a profitable business. Reason why they are so overpriced bc you rarely have to replace them
@@AquariumSurge hello fellow ex Surrey neighbour, was also Esher/ West Molesey , now reside in Essex uk. Ok great I’ll reach out & send them an email, thank you. 🙏🏼
It's not a pump just a device. I also have a seasweep and 1"seaswirl but not using them. Only thing i use for flow is the 2 seaswirl 3/4" on a closed loop and 2 MP60s. Hope this helps
@slipknotfreak744 Yes. Started with 2 baby purples and ended up with one. Had 3 yellow tangs and now I have one. Unless they pair in captivity, which rarely happens they eventually turn on each other. Every other tang nothing major
You're gonna get Dinos like crazy with all the dry rock.. I will NEVER set up another tank with dry rock only... You need some live rock in there and a TON of bacteria supplements
My "dry rock" set up took TWO years to start to mature... I knew it would, but didn't want to risk having to battle pests.... (battled Dinos instead) lol I Miss, and would love to have all the little forms of life. Little feather duster worms, squirts, sponges and tiny brittle stars.... I'm trying to get some live rubble from my LFS's decades old pest free reef tank.... But they just laugh. I may have to offer some ridiculous $$$ to get some clean diversity of life.
@chelseaananda2831 most fish can handle it and seem to prefer strong flow when lights are on. It actually keeps them healthy because they have to swim more. However they dont like strong flow when lights are out and they are sleeping. That's why i suggest to reduce the flow if your flow is high during the day
Yellow tangs do fine in a smaller tank but all my tangs are now in a 400gallon. Ironically they got aggressive in the 400gallon and were peaceful In the 115gallon I believe your referring too
Absolutely amazing video full of quality info! Definitely have to watch it 3 or 4 more times to take all in. Thanks for sharing!
@cezar050681 Thanks for the Kind words
what a helpful video. using bubbles is genius.
@@zachary_smith1 thanks
Thanks for the video, loved it. Tons of info.
I like videos like this that get me tinkering
@MrGarciaJr Thanks
Cheers. Will reduce my wavemaker at night by 50%.
More in 10 minutes than BRS would in a 6 part investigate series that takes 2 months

Thanks for the tip! I've heard about that, so I usually only soak my magnetic impellers in vinegar for 30 seconds or less.
what a great information dump. subscribed.
@@filterdecay lol thanks
Great episode my friend 👏👌🙌
Thanks Queencityreef
Thanks for the master class. I'm setting up a 180 soon, and this was great info to ponder before getting it wet.
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome info!!!
Thanks
Great info! Thanks
Thanks for watching!
This was a great video!
Thanks
Great video, very informative , I wouldn’t mind some sea swirls but cannot find them here in the U.K. unfortunately .

Is it okay to use my internal filter for a mean time to start my cycle since my external filter that i should use is still on shipment.
@kiyoykyle yes of course. You want your tank to get dirty during cycle
Your automatic 180 degree pump , what model is it ?

Great advice but why did you not credit Coral Euphoria for using his videos?
@@John_Benson Thanks. I did credit Abe. He is my friend so I am sure he won't mind
@@AquariumSurge cool glad to hear. I must have missed it!
How do you know this isn’t too turbulent and exhausting for your fish?

I mean, we know filters can work too
