to correct the position of the pivot point of an object, all you have to do is select a few symmetrical polygons to be visible and then press the button set pivot from the transform menu.
Went looking for a means of setting mesh pivot on export so I don't have to do it in Maya. Came across this instead. You have no idea how many times I've had this happen despite using symmetry the entire time. Next time it happens, I'll know what to do. Thanks!
That's the shortest and most efficient video I've ever seen, thank you kind sir
Neat trick!!! especially for pieces that have a specific position and you need it to snap back with clear pivot!
Thanks for this quick tutorial
u didn't explain how u got rid of the other polygons before setting the pivot point. that's an important step
pressing ctrl+shift and dragging will do this. After you are done setting the pivot, just press ctrl+shift again and point-click anywhere
Thank you!
Best tip ever
Thanks a lot.
thank you!
Thanks!!
Thank you
thanks dude

Finally someone explained this good.. it worked
Pixologic should pay you a dollar for every time someone viewed this.
It moves the object too so it doesnt work
This unluckily moves mesh and not pivot point
thanks this was infuriating me
how to go back to base model?
ctrl + shift + click on the background!
Doesn't work if you work with symmetry and point you want to focus on isn't in the middle of the axis you mirror
Thanks!!
