I'll keep a running comment here of information and updates on G-Helper and will try to keep that updated for those watching this video! Feel free to reply with any cool features/uses you've found for G-Helper! 1. Undervolting your GPU in G-Helper, further explained: imgur.com/a/hS8Pqy5 2. Core parking has been added to the Extra tab. So for those of you with an Intel processor (like the 13900H or Core Ultra), you can now park P cores or E cores. This can help with any compatibility issues with some older apps that don’t support P and E cores, and it can also help battery life by having fewer cores running. 3. OLED displays now have a DC dimming slider in G-Helper. This is for people who are sensitive to PWM flickering (if you know, you know) in OLED displays. It allows you to turn down the display brightness without PWM kicking in. 4. 2024 Asus ROG laptops have a new adjustable TGP feature, which is a big deal. This allows you to set a base wattage for your GPU before dynamic boost hits. Great option for vbios modding as well since this essentially acts as a “power slider” like the one in MSI Afterburner that only desktop GPU’s can use. It is now on G-helper as of v0.156 5. Any 2023 or newer ROG laptop now has the ability to switch color gamut and GameVisual styles within G-Helper directly. No longer do you need to open Windows Color Management like I did in the video or having to install the separate GameVisual app! Super convenient feature! 6. G-Helper FAQ page will answer most additional questions people may have! github.com/seerge/g-helper/wiki/FAQ
Hi, can you please make a review on the Asus Zephyrus G16 2024 and check the difference G helper makes on it compared to Armoury crate? Especially all the noise issues and performance issues I've been hearing about. Like the 4080 performing like a 4060 for some users. Thanks.
Hi. Thanks for the great video. Helped me a lot but I get an annoying OSD menu whenever I plug-in/plug-out my laptop. The OSD is a small rectangle that says what current power mode I am using. I tried disabling it and somehow managed it but now it is back. Do you know how to complete disable any osd that the app may produce?
When the first G14 came few guys in the G14 subreddit starter working on Armoury Crate alternative. I think the first one was atrofac and the latest seems to be the G-Helper. This community was the best I have been within and it continues to be awesome. Kudos to all who started those tools and to those who still making them now. Amazing job guys!
Had to uninstall Armory Crate because it was causing my laptop to freeze and crash, but then I lost a lot of controls and keyboard lighting. Good thing I found G-helper.
Totally agree. The fact that this is a passion project absolutely blows my mind. The quick actions, and intuitive interface and extra features are just mind-blowing. I uninstalled the Armory Crate and never looked back. One thing, I question the undervolting a little. I have moved mine down all the way to -30, so either I have a golden CPU or something isn't working as expected.
It's crazy, like Asus really needs to learn something from this guy lol. But yeah, undervolting will only work if you have a 7940HS, 5900HS, 6900HS, and sometimes on a 4800. It has to be some kind of Ryzen 9 CPU. But if you're applying the undervolt at -30 and it's working then you indeed have a god-tier CPU bin! The easiest way to check is to run Cinebench R23 (just do a single run on multi-core) with a 0 undervolt and then run it again at -30. The score should go up by like 1,000 points at least.
@@JoshCravesTech Just verified it, I got 15768 with 0 undervolt, and 16511 with a -30! I've never won the cpu lottery before, I'm so glad you convinced me to keep the g14 over the x16! Now I hope g-helper extends the range I can undervolt even lower 😆
I recently bought a G14 3050 6Gb for productivity and light gaming, playing SWTOR, GTA V and older games the laptop would get incredibly hot and the fans were blasting at full power no matter what setting I changed in Armoury Crate, I ended up upgrading the SSD to 2tb, RAM & WiFi card upgrade and did a fresh install of windows with only using G-Helper. Disabling power limits and some fine tuning in G-Helper made this a completely different laptop. No longer running super hot and fans are more variable.
Here's my understanding of "undervolting": CPUs run at higher voltage than they need out-of-the-box because manufacturers like to make sure, if you don't change any settings, the chips can run stably no matter what you throw at it. At worst, it runs a bit hot but it is assumed you'd use an adequate cooler and at least, it runs stably. But by testing you can lower the voltage to an "optimized" point where it runs at the same speed but draws less power and thus, produces less heat. But the lower the voltage, the higher the risk of instability. That's why it takes a lot of testing to find that "optimized" point. Any lower would cause instability or you'd have to lower the clock speed. This is the same reason you need to increase voltage when overclocking it to a speed it's not designed for.
I was really worried playing around with my laptop not really knowing much I noticed it overheating quickly. Thanks to this instructions I'm golden again. Greatly appreciated
Thank you very much for this video. I just bought a G14 2024 and installed G-Helper as many recommended that in Reddit. But some of the features were not clear to me and it was great to stumble upon your video. Great app and I just contributed to developer
Hey, just bought a G16 (2023) and was searching for guides about debloating and optimizing it so I could game and work with it in college with decent battery life. G-Helper just looks so intuitive compared to Armory Crate ! Probably the best guide about something ive seen out here : editing on point, sexy voice, overall amazing. And of course I subscribed. Looking forward your next videos !
This really is a game changer. I care a lot (maybe a little too much) about battery life and fan noise in the silent mode with this I can really go crazy. No turbo boost, 10w sustained power draw, and a -11 undervolt.
@@PKperformanceEUIt will kick Macbooks ass with snapdragon x elite or there upcoming later this year or next year. With full 80 watt tdp while having 6 w at idle. And a discrete gpu. (If it will be of same price $2000 for 4070-esk class, it blow Macbooks pro out if the water).

G-helper is fantastic, use it on my G14 4080. It ran faster, cooler and quieter with just the base power plans before any under-volting. 100% recommend using if you have an asus laptop, its much cleaner.
Thanks for this!! I finally got around to uninstalling AC and MyAsus yesterday, and this video has been super helpful. So thankful to Serge for making this and continuing to make it better!
Small update for G16 (2024) owners: In ultimate mode you can use the HDMI port for an external display, that works. USB-C output will not work. Also: the difference in performance is non-existent between ultimate and optimized mode. If you want full performance on external display just use the HDMI output. G-Helper is just great. Much smoother than Armory Crate and better accessible. Thanks for the video. Much appreciated.
Really appreciate you Josh for make this dedicated 34 min for this incredible tool. The only thing I wish they can implement on the GHelper is for custom perkey rgb keyboard. I mean, customization like in Aura Creator.
Someone in a reddit topic said that your reviews were top tier, i thought it was one of the scams posts, but damnnn your videos are legit! Congrats, new subscriber!
hey! great video man, really love this tool for deeply customizing the performance of my g14. thanks to the undervolting feature i found out that for some reason i've got some massively good silice, i've lowered the value all the way down to -40 and still no stability issues :)
@@kovernatic yes i did have. i learned to test the cpu just in how stable games fare more than with just a benchmark. i usually play rocket league and it crashed a lot applying undervolting, i'd suggest to test wich games work well with undervolting and wich not
Ive used this from the start. It is the BEST way to control an asus laptop. Ive created T-RGB on github for keyboard rgb on my tuf a15. Then i made an issue describing this and Seerge fixed it!
Gave it a shot and I have to say I'm extremely impressed One particular aspect that I ADORE is the CPU Temps Target. While I understand by design AMD APU/CPUs on laptops target high temps to achieve extremely high clock speeds, I'm not comfy with 90-95C in the most demanding of scenarios, and I can fight it with a rather loud fan which doesn't bother me but I feel I'd rather hit an approachable target. Unfortunately, my A15 with a Ryzen 7 7735HS doesn't seem to support Undervolting, as it does not show in the Advanced Tab Nonetheless, locking it to 65w and force locking the temps to 80C, I can still achieve decent performance and consistent 4.2Ghz during a cinebench run, so this is neat! Kudos to the creator
Yeah, I’ve been enjoying it for sometime and the developer updates regularly as well. I love the small space that it takes up for its entire display and seemingly in comparison from all my testing it definitely does consume very little resources, especially in comparison to ASUS bloatware apps. He thought of everything, even the ability to disable unnecessary services. Been testing for months now on my Tuf ASUS gaming laptop. With any luck I will never have to go back to the standard ASUS apps.
Great Vid as always, I have been using G-Helper since the beginning of the year and it never ceased to get better! The only thing I haven’t really used is the GPU Undervolt since it’s kinda confusing for me and I can’t really find a concrete GHelper vid for this, but overall still the experience is still great!
Yeah he kind of explains it on the G-Helper page, but it's hard to explain without having an understanding of how undervolting works in MSI Afterburner. It's essentially the same thing as that. The lower your max clock speed, the lower voltage you are running the GPU at. But then you OVERCLOCK to gain back the performance of running at a lower voltage/clock speed, therefore you are getting the same performance at a lower voltage, which typically also means a lower temperature.
thanks alot for this video. I was trying to edit my videos and for some reason there was a major lag on everything I was doing. No idea what it was but g helper fixed it
Sounds really like an amazing piece of software. Since my personal experience from my last three laptops is MSI GT72, Leneovo Legion 7 and Leneovo Legion Pro 7, that is what I have to compare with. Vantage today is OK, but not quite complete. I would love to have a tool like this. There is a similar enthusiast project for Legion, called Lenovo Legion Toolkit which looks good, but lacks some key features too, and I cannot make sense of how it interacts with Vantage, Windows and BIOS. A comprehensive video like this would be amazing for that. Not expecting you will do it, but anyway. 🙂
Heyy, awesome video man. You literally cleared all my doubts in just 30 mins. Just one small thing. How does the update process work for the ghelper version. Should i manually install the new version abd remove the old version exe file and replace this with that?
Yeah, I usually just extract the new version into the same folder that the old version is in and that's it! Although I think he just added an auto-updater that just installs it automatically if desired.
Great timing of this. I was thinking of re-installing windows and giving this a try. its only being delayed by a coding project to complete that takes a lot of time to setup. Kinda scared rn to mess up something and have to factory reset lol. So, on a cleaned machine we just download the g-helper, install and go? No other steps required? Because if someone is not clean installing windows, I think its recommended to run armory crate uninstaller before installing g-helper.
Correct! If you already have Armoury Crate installed, use the official uninstall tool from Asus to get rid of it. Then for G-Helper, just download, unzip and go!
G-helper works awesome on my laptop R9 7945HX and RTX 4080 1500 pts more with g-helper in cinebench runs Like 35k on r23 with G-helper VS 33.5K on armory crate Lower idle temps when just browsing etc.
Very helpful thank you! I was wrecking my laptop on battery because my SPL was way way too high. It was crashing every ~10-15 min but seems stable now. Thank you again :)
03:05 "Balanced" is the original name of this profile. I have an Asus ROG Strix Scar III (G731GW) and this profile inside Asus Armoury Crate was called "Balanced", then after some updates for some reason that i still can't comprehend they changed the name of this profile to "Performance". Maybe someone thought that "Balanced" doesn't fit so much cause of the noise these fans make trying to keep the temps low 😂
Lol that’s funny! Yeah at one point they had changed it back to Balanced for like a week. This was like a year ago I think, and then they immediately changed it back to Performance. I guess they want it to be a psychological thing, lol. Make people THINK it’s a high performing profile.
thank you so much for this super insightful video >:D i'm not too passionate about tech, i'm just a tech dino who wants to enjoy some improved settings so i copied everything that's in this video. good enough for me! also, i left a comment a while ago asking for laptop recommendations, your reply really helped me! i ended up getting a g14 and i love it to death, small, portable, high performing, just amazing. one issue is my g14 does run a little hotter even on idle (i uninstalled all bloatware) -- but it's been the case since the start so i'm not toooo worried. :) again, thank you!
@@NightingaleFlorine thank you for watching! Appreciate the support. Also, yeah every unit will have a little variance from drivers, updates, factory paste, etc. but I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
As someone struggling with a Dell G15 5515 and their atrocious command center and lack of any hardware control, I can confidently say I will be keeping my eye on Asus as a possible upgrade option sometime in the future, might even come 1st to Lenovo. A good software-hardware experience is what I’m looking for. That and ample VRAM.
Awesome tutorial, was wondering if G-Helper have the fps counter, cpu/gpu temp, cpu/gpu usage monitor that Armoury crate have. I often use that to keep track of my temps and fps lol
It doesn’t have an overlay as of yet other than a monitor in the window for GPU/CPU temps and fan speeds. Might be something that gets added in the future, we’ll see!
My laptop I just got (Zephyrus G14 RTX 4060) was always getting HOT and I wasn’t figuring out why. I had my keyboard lights on heat map and it was always red and come to find out It was the Armory Crate software not doing its job. My laptop was almost always so hot it could start a cookout on the 4th of July. I downloaded G helper and kept silent and balanced stock for the most part besides undervolting both -10 since I usually have my gpu off on battery anyways (which drastically adds HOURS to your laptop battery time btw) and on Turbo I have the CPU boosted on efficient aggressive and I got the fans at 2800 minimum and going towards max at higher temps, and the laptop has been so much cooler and I can actually run my games at max settings now without worrying about blowing it up 💀. So glad G helper was created. Shoutout to them frfr. I would rather have my fans going when I game and have cooler temps than them barely going at all and I cook my laptop to death
Its amazing, i couldnt control my Fan Speed on Asus Dash F15 and with the help of ghelper i increased my fan speed to max and i ALSO decreased my Cpu Core speed to the Base Clock and it decreased the temperature From 88 to 58 without any lower perfermoce while im gaming. Thats crazy! the BEST app ever.
Hey Josh! I have the same model you do and recently switched to G-Helper because of you! After using the ASUS Armoury Crate utility, it left behind a couple of apps. Do I need the ASUS Hotplug Controller and the ASUS Monitor Controller, or should I uninstall those?
I’d probably leave those! They might have something to do with your outputs and power plug. I’m not certain though. If you click on the “stop Asus services” button in G-Helper it will disable all the unnecessary ones if there are any leftover.
I have ASUS DASH F15. My Armory crate Turbo Mode setting for CPU was: CLOCK BOOST from 3.30 to 4.80 and also the FAN SPEED was around 4800 RPM and It was DESTROYING my CPU with 90° DEGREES TEMPERATURE. With the help of GHELPER I turned off the CPU BOOST and raised the CPU FAN SPEED to 6500rpm. The result was amazing. It decreased my CPU TEMPERATURE by more than 30° DEGREES without any PERFORMANCE COST. Anyone who has asus laptop SHOULD Be Aware of this App.
I might disagree on the GPU modes: if I'm understanding this correctly, "standard" mode does fire up the dGPU but still routes the display signal through the iGPU and in my testing, not only performance and wattage are limited on the dGPU, you also cannot use G-sync. And when you unplug while in standard mode, it doesn't turn off the dGPU either. So, I personally would run ultimate mode if I was going to game to get max performance, and optimized mode otherwise so when I unplug, it'd be in eco mode for max battery life.
On any model that doesn’t have Advanced Optimus or whatever AMD’s version of that is called (Smart Access Shift or something) then yes that’s true. However, with Advanced Optimus, you can be in Standard mode and still have everything route to the dGPU in Nvidia Control Panel by choosing “Nvidia GPU only”. This is essentially the same as rebooting into Ultimate mode but without having to reboot. Just a nice convenience. And unplugging, you can choose to switch into Eco to disable the dGPU completely or keep it in standard and let your PC decide when the dGPU should be activated. If you’re in Ultimate mode and decide to unplug, you’ll have to reboot again in order to move to Eco mode.
@@JoshCravesTech Ahh, I see. Asus designed their products with way too many features. They really thought of everything and I'm still learning how to use them! I'm still confused about this: if I'm in standard mode or optimized mode when plugged in, what's the difference between "auto select" and "optimus" in the display mode setting in Nvidia control panel?
@@motherflerkentannhauser8152 yeah it’s a lot, lol. So “auto-select” detects when you start a game and automatically switches you into dGPU-mode (Nvidia GPU only), and then switches you back upon exiting the game. Optimus is just your standard dGPU + iGPU mode, where the dGPU is active but all frames are sent through the iGPU to the display creating a small bottleneck in some games.
Yeah I know undervolting is locked to HX chips for Intel, but I’m sure it could be possible, he’d probably just need help from some users with specific hardware on the GitHub page
What about those updates which we get from Armoury crate if we uninstall it? Mouse HAL updates etc? I have been using this since last 2 months its working well for me, still curious about those s/w updates from AC.
Only disabling CPU Boost and uninstalling ArmoryCrate dropped my Cpu temps by 15 degrees, (so i can use it comfortable on the lap) of course also extended my battery life for hours now. Havent played with undervolting and power limits yet. maybe i can squeeze some more hours out of it.
I turned off CPU BOOST and my temperature dropped from 96 degrees Celsius to a stable 78 degrees Celsius, with no change in performance in Helldivers 2. I now steer clear of this option.
You can control it in G-Helper! I don’t have anime matrix to test with so I’m not sure the exact functionality but from what I’ve seen it looks like it covers everything!
28:30 Boot sound is horrifying, i remember when I first booted my laptop it almost gave me a heart attack. The best thing is, it doesn't even care about sound settings.
I've installed Armory crate and my pc starts freezing.. Like you into doing some tasks then it freezes suddenly the mouse and the keyboard stop working and doesn't respond..
It looks really cool but I actually love Armory crate and didn't find any of these settings any more useful than just pressing the armory crate button on my 2023 G14
@@JoshCravesTech swag, really great video on the software though, video format and quality is great as always. Definitely see you climbing the charts over the years to come!
@@JoshCravesTech Okay, I lied, maybe you just didn't mention it in the video, or I missed it, but man I didn't know you could force the screen overclock on battery using this program, it's amazing, genuinely makes using this as a regular laptop so much better
Thank you for another great video! I have a 2022 min-led flow x16 and never really understood how to switch between color profiles or if switching was even something I needed to do. Seeing that the 2023 models have a color gamut section made me remember this and now I really want to know how to access those color profiles. How can I get access to these color profiles on pre 2023 models?
You can't unfortunately. If it shows up in the newest version of G-Helper for you on the main screen, then you do have it. But if it's not there, then you don't. It's a feature from Asus that only applies to certain models. But tbh it is a bit niche. Mostly useful for those who want to explore sRGB color spaces in true sRGB, and not have colors ballooned in the DCI-P3 color space. A lot of people like that look though, so it's not for everyone to want to "wash out" your colors essentially by correcting it. Most color-sensitive programs like video and photo editors automatically compensate for this so there's no need to switch your color profiles there either unless you're using a program that doesn't have color management built in.
Gray just means you would have to update that particular driver through the Microsoft store or through an external website, or through Windows update. It doesn’t mean that it’s outdated or anything. The large majority of the gray updates are drivers that will probably never need an update or will be updated automatically when the time comes
does switching to ECO mode cause your screen to flicker for a second? I have an Asus ProArt P16 and it flickers just for a second when turning ECO mode off/on. Great video. thanks!
@@JoshCravesTechlearned a lot thanks. Im rocking a G14 2023 with a 4060. I got it for $980 open box. Looked brand new. Upgraded ram to 32gb and got a $230 4TB WD SN850X yesterday. Decked out! Lol
Great video as usual, a couple of questions that may seem stupid, n00bie or basic, but since G-helper is developed by a single unknown person; 1- How do you ensure that it doesn't have some kind of teeny tiny malware or spyware? And that the next update won't have one? esp. he releases so many updates, I'm sure no one looks into each line of code or performs a pen. test 2- This software controls everything in your laptop esp. in the electricity domain, so any little bug or glitch in an update may mean a harm to your computer or H/w, Are these risks you are all taking knowingly? Or are there answers and aspects to this that I am not seeing?
Thanks for watching! So yeah to answer your questions, your anti-virus/malware should pick up on something like that if it were to happen. I guess there’s no 100% way to guarantee it, but simply scanning it with an antivirus should do the trick if you ever feel concerned. And as for the second one, it doesn’t have as much control as you’re thinking. Remember that your laptop has hardware-baked limitations. Think of G-Helper as a simple control device. Like little sliders and knobs that control things that are already there. Going “beyond” your laptop’s limitations will just simply not do anything. You would have to likely physically modify your hack in and unlock your bios to go beyond those parameters. In my eyes, there are no risks, only benefits! It’s the same things that Armoury Crate does, but with some of the more hidden settings being revealed and given to the user so that you can truly customize how you want your machine to run, within its limitations!
@@JoshCravesTech Yes the features are awesome! The fn key, the prntscrn key..etc and the lower battery usage, but bare in mind that a lot of malwares/spying can be done on your computer without the conventional anti viruses noticing (correct me if I’m wrong) so AFAIK it’s based more on trust, which is easier to give to a large company that has a reputation at stake(and lawsuits) as opposed to a person where you can’t be 100% sure(or close) that you’re not taking a risk installing this on your machine
Thanks for your video. In my case (ROG G15 2021) touching the fancurves seems to disable the rog boost of 20w on the GPU, as is interpreted as a custom profile.

Awesome vid thanks for putting this up! I just got my own G14 with a 4060. I'm excited to use this tool, but for some weird reason, every time I try to download the app from that link and try to open to install, it keeps asking me to "find the app" in the Windows store...how do I just get the app to run? Edit: My G1 came with Windows 11 (just got it yesterday). Edit 2: Got it to work after reading some more info on the page, thanks!
I just wanted to ask only two things, if these are available in G-Helper then I will immediately install G-Helper app. (BTW still appreciate the devs to create such a de-bloated alternative for Armoury Crate). 1. I have ROG Strix G15 with 4 zone keyboard and 6 zone strip lighting. Can I customize these lightning within G-Helper app? I mean I have custom lighting in different zones of my laptop. Basically what I am asking is that can it replace Aura Sync as well? Because Aura Sync does not and will not work without Armoury Crate. 2. Can these power profiles can be used in different power plans in Control Panel just like what Armoury Crate does? If it does as mentioned in video then do create a tutorial for these please. Because I have some custom changes to help me increase my Battery longevity with less power draw. I also wanted to know how we can get incremental updates/driver updates just like Armoury Crate in G-Helper. Does it redirect to the asus website for the drivers and updates or will it download a file and install the updates automatically? And can we also rely on the updates that we'll get? Please answer these questions 🙏
Hey this is so helpful, one question I have - What is the point of the 'Auto Toggle Clamshell Mode' when you can control that with just the regular Windows settings under 'change what closing the lid does' in the control panel power options?
The guy is awesome and it really is a passion project that the community has stayed involved in helping to make better. I mean just having Fn lock alone was enough for me too. The fact that it isn't even a standard option from Asus blows my mind.
Firstly, Thank you so much for this video, This was an incredibly helpful for me as i am new the PC/Gaming laptop world, i have always been on consoles until last week I picked up an ASUS g14 4060, swapping it for the 4070 though due to a sale that was better. nothing bad regarding the 4060 its been fantastic. my question has nothing to do with G-helper, but you seem to have alot of knowledge and experience with Gaming laptop/PC and i wonder if you can help. Question : what is a good temp for the laptop to run. I've looked all over and I get conflicting responses, while gaming I've read 70-85 is good and anything over 90 is consider bad but I've also read that over 100 is where you should be concerned and anything under is normal and fine while gaming, if you or anyone here can provide some inside id really appreciate it.
Yeah the conflicting info is because it varies by CPU and GPU so much and what they’re designed to handle, as well as the chassis they’re in. So for a 4070 GPU and 7940HS CPU in a 14” laptop, the GPU is ok to reach up to 87C, but hopefully it stays under 85C most of the time. The CPU is okay to reach up to 95C and it will do that in spikes, but in games we want to see it under 90C most of the time.
I typically do 100% personally, but I don’t care about buying a new battery in a couple years if I need to. If you want to avoid that and keep your battery in good health for longer, then do 80%
I'll keep a running comment here of information and updates on G-Helper and will try to keep that updated for those watching this video! Feel free to reply with any cool features/uses you've found for G-Helper!
1. Undervolting your GPU in G-Helper, further explained: imgur.com/a/hS8Pqy5
It is now on G-helper as of v0.156

@@JoshCravesTech Ryzen 7 5800hs and 6800hs not suitable? Why is this limitation, since you even mention 4800hs?
@@e0236 Ryzen 7 is blocked from undervolting by AMD. No idea why that is. But for some reason the 4800H can still undervolt. Again, no clue why.
@@JoshCravesTech yep, my R9 7945HX is scores around 35.6k on Cinebench r23 with undervolt with G helper
Ghelper is an outstanding piece of Software. Huge props to Seerge

This really is a game changer. I care a lot (maybe a little too much) about battery life and fan noise in the silent mode with this I can really go crazy. No turbo boost, 10w sustained power draw, and a -11 undervolt.

@@kovernatic yes i did have. i learned to test the cpu just in how stable games fare more than with just a benchmark.
i usually play rocket league and it crashed a lot applying undervolting, i'd suggest to test wich games work well with undervolting and wich not

Mind sharing your settings I'm playing the same game
Gave it a shot and I have to say I'm extremely impressed
One particular aspect that I ADORE is the CPU Temps Target. Unfortunately, my A15 with a Ryzen 7 7735HS doesn't seem to support Undervolting, as it does not show in the Advanced Tab
Nonetheless, locking it to 65w and force locking the temps to 80C, I can still achieve decent performance and consistent 4.2Ghz during a cinebench run, so this is neat!
No idea what it was but g helper fixed it
Good to hear!
hey thanks ive been using ghelper for a while but this video really made me understad the ins and outs of it all!
G-helper works awesome on my laptop

Maybe someone thought that "Balanced" doesn't fit so much cause of the noise these fans make trying to keep the temps low 😂
Lol that’s funny! Yeah at one point they had changed it back to Balanced for like a week. This was like a year ago I think, and then they immediately changed it back to Performance. I guess they want it to be a psychological thing, lol. Make people THINK it’s a high performing profile.

Awesome tutorial, was wondering if G-Helper have the fps counter, cpu/gpu temp, cpu/gpu usage monitor that Armoury crate have. I often use that to keep track of my temps and fps lol

@@JoshCravesTech any other software you recommend incase I do delete the Armory Crate app? Don’t want to install MSI burner and G-Helper together

I don’t see the GPU tab? Downloaded the latest version. It’s it because I have a ryzen laptop gpu!?
Since you've previewed the 2024 model now. Would these settings carry over that one?
For the most part! The fans might be a little different, I still need to play around with it more, but yeah it would at least be a good starting point
Great video as usual, a couple of questions that may seem stupid, n00bie or basic, but since G-helper is developed by a single unknown person;
1- How do you ensure that it doesn't have some kind of teeny tiny malware or spyware? And that the next update won't have one? esp. he releases so many updates, I'm sure no one looks into each line of code or performs a pen. test
2- This software controls everything in your laptop esp. in the electricity domain, so any little bug or glitch in an update may mean a harm to your computer or H/w,
Are these risks you are all taking knowingly?

Does undervolting in core also reduce voltage that goes to memory chips?
No it shouldn't
I used it on my Strix G15 rx6800m, maybe it doesn't support smd discreet GPUs. I was not able to edit GPU power settings and GPU fan seprately
AMD GPUs are completely locked, you can't set anything for them. It's ok.
I hope he goes for an alternative for Acer's Predator Sense because I hear its straight out garbage. Please Serge ;(
Yeah I’ve heard the Acer software isn’t the best!
I have a vivobook pro 16 with a 13890hx and 4070. Most of the settings are missing
Hey this is so helpful, one question I have - What is the point of the 'Auto Toggle Clamshell Mode' when you can control that with just the regular Windows settings under 'change what closing the lid does' in the control panel power options?
It's just faster to get to this way
I hate installing unofficial software but ill do it if only for the Fn lock.
Thank you for the insight I greatly appreciate it
THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO
onelast question how often do u charge ur laptop to 100% if not whats the max u charge often times.
I typically do 100% personally, but I don’t care about buying a new battery in a couple years if I need to. If you want to avoid that and keep your battery in good health for longer, then do 80%
