    Whats your thoughts on stacking DIY detail 3 year coating over Gyeon Pure Evo? From discription both Gyeon Pure Evo and DIY Detail 5 year have similar composition, so it should work when stacked with 3 year coating

      2 different brands, no telling how they would work together. You'd have to experiment and see.

      really i'd be splitting hairs but maybe a slight more amount of noticeable gloss. I say just go with the 8 year, it's the best one.

    Is the gloss really better with the 5 year version? Looks just about the same as the 3 year one to me. What's your favorite ceramic coating for maximum gloss?

    • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
      @BelLavoroAutoSpa  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can only go off what they say. Since I thoroughly polish before I coat, I can't really tell which has more gloss than the other. If I were to split hairs I'd say between this one and cquartz sic.

    Great video! I am thinking of ceramic coating my new Lexus later this Spring when it is delivered. I see from the comments below that you say that you like the 8 year DIY Detail coating even more than the 5 year one which is really very good. I have looked at MOHS Evo Synchro and CSL + EXOv5. Have you any experience with these products and how do you feel that they compare with the 8 year DIY Detail coating for applcation, looks and other features?

    • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
      @BelLavoroAutoSpa  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      CSL with Exo V4 yes it was a decent costing but took a long time because of the layering. Mohs is in my upcoming test that should be up in a couple weeks.

    • @MichaelMorrow-v4j
      @MichaelMorrow-v4j 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Many thanks. CSL and EXOv5 are now both single application products with up to 7 years of durability if used together initially and properly maintained. Mohs Evo plus Skin is said to be up to 50 months with a single initial application. But the issue seems to be that you cannot purchase Skin separately for annual re-coats. I'll look forard to seeing your video on Mohs. I think that the cure time is even shorter than CSL so you have to do say 6 sections for a hood rather than 1 for DIY Detail and say 2 for CSL.

      @@BelLavoroAutoSpa I'm just a car owner and have never applied a coating. I want to apply DIY but I'm afraid I'll mess up the 5 yr or 8 yr. Someone said the 3 year is easier to apply. Is the 8 year much harder to apply than the 3 year in your opinion?

    • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
      @BelLavoroAutoSpa  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@The_CR_Phil hey brother no worries. They are all very easy to apply. I did not notice any difference in application difficulty between the 3 of them. My suggestion is to do the 8 year for a garage kept/show car. 3 year and 5 year for daily driven due to how much a daily driver sees, youll end up wanting to polish the paint again after a couple years. Can also do the stack and layer the 3 year on top of the 5 or 8 year.

  • @GoofylookinHippy
    @GoofylookinHippy ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there an objective way to say that the 5 year is actually glossier than the 8 year on your car?

    • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
      @BelLavoroAutoSpa  ปีที่แล้ว

      You would have to polish a panel and apply them both and take gloss meter readings.

      @BelLavoroAutoSpa Nice job correcting. That's my favorite color of theirs.
      I have to say though that one of these days, that rule of thumb might come back to bite you, especially in newer cars that are putting on less and less clear now a days to save money. Unless you know that they are the original owner, you can't know how many times the car could have been polished by the previous owner. So you're playing roulette with your polisher.
      I just corrected & coated my brother's 2022 Mazda CX-5 that he's original owner & I know it was never corrected. He had a bunch of bird bomb etchings he wanted fixed before coating it. That factory paint was so thin & soft! I had door jamb readings, where paint is typically thinnest, of 54 microns. Some factory spots on the roof & hood before starting were only 64 & 59 microns close to the etchings. If I used your rule of thumb, I likely would have bought myself a hood or roof respray. $85 for a decent paint depth gauge is cheap insurance if you do a lot of coatings and will continue to paint correct newer model year vehicles. Just MHO.
