The more I see the rotary being used and the results the more I want to invest in one and the coating looks great on there please keep us updated on the coating.
Interesting vid thanks! The gloss looked great. I’d be interested to see follow up vids for how well it holds up. Very tempted to put some on my Audi!!
Are you using the Maxshine 1000 rotary? Aren't you suppose to level the product first before using the buffing towel? I guess everyone does it different!
That car looks great! With that 8 year coating. It takes a while to get used to the applicator this one specifically holds product so we use less coatings unlike the others that just absorbs! I’ve told people about their panel prep feels slick on the paint. On glass though it gets grabby. Great video bro!
Thanks man, yea it was definitely different than what I am used to. The autofiber savers are plastic lined so they don't absorb extra product, but these foam applicators are great for speed.
6 of 1 1/2 dozen of the other. McKees makes some excellent prosumer coatings but I trust Yvan to get you a long lasting coating for less money right now. Keep in mind that nobody is going to just put these 8 and 10 year coatings on their cars and let it just go for that amount of time. The reality is that people like us take care of our vehicles and will probably want to recoat in 4-5 years, anyway if we even keep our cars that long. I'm a fan of McKee's Graphene Ceramic 5 year coating or roll with the DIY 5 year coating. Yvan says that the 5 year has the most gloss of the whole line and I can tell you the McKee's is the same thing - liquid effing gloss. The DIY 5 year at $89.99 with this discount is the way to go unless you have more than one car to coat. The McKee's Graphene coating is 4 freaking oz so you can do 4 or 5 cars/trucks/SUVs for $149. $30-$40 a coating for a 5 years of graphene protection.
Customer is considering using a coating and I have recommended these coatings from DYI. Any problems? He is also looking at Adams Advanced coating & Blue Collar coatings...
I'm not sure about the whole Adams lineup. Their coatings seem to fail/fatally clog in too many long-term tests for my liking. I've got some Adams products, but their website feels like Kohl's or some other discount store with 25 and 30% off every other week it looks like their MSRP prices are permanently jacked up. Line to line, I've had far better success with DIY Detail and McKee's detailing products than my overall Adams experience. I've commented before, the DIY 5 year or the McKee's 5 year Graphene Ceramic coatings seem to make the most sense to me, from a performance per dollar standpoint.
Thanks for the video. You mentioned how slick it was and I was wondering if you've ever used Meguiars Hybrid Paint Coating before? If so, how does DIY compare in slickness? I ask this because personally the Megs is one of the slickest products I've ever used. If its comparable I may give DIY a try.
Have not used HPC, but DIY is definitely one of the slickest coatings ive used right there with Cquartz SiC. It's the same slickness you get from graohene products.
Looks like you had fun re-coating your stinger. I just coated my my new truck with DB36 (bought before I learned about the new DIY detail coatings). Like DIY, DB36 is supposed to work on plastic trim as well. My truck has a couple inches of textured plastic trim all along the bottom. I’m debating on ceramic coating the trim with the same stuff, or whether it’s better to use a trim specific coating. What would you do?
Thank you for the review, car looks great.

Absolutely. Rotary is a great tool for fast polishing. You will be seeing regular updates on this coating as well.
@@bekiro28 thanks I will check it out.
Gotta love a rotary! Great work dude! I can't wait to try these coatings.
Thanks, yea rotary is awesome!

Thanks for watching
I'll be receiving my 5 year tomorrow. Looking forward to testing it out.. thanks for sharing your opinion on this!
It is Lake Country’s pad wash. Good stuff. We run it in our pad washers & do laundry with it if we run out of Rags to Riches
The car looks great! Hopefully, I'll be ready to order this soon.

You're in luck, I did an update video about a month after this was posted and plan on doing more in the future.
@@BelLavoroAutoSpa I just watched it! The car looks amazing! Super glossy and so easy to clean and dry!! 👍
Good review Martin. Your Stinger looks boss.
Much appreciated!

I was thinking of either trying this or the McKee's 10 year Pro-Coat 2.0.
I can tell you this one is ridiculously easy to apply, and you can use my code for 10% off.

No problems at all. Probably one of the easiest coatings I have ever used.

You think you could do a video on home based detailing business?
Something I would consider. I do not detail full time, but I could put things into perspective.
how is the coating holding up? any update videos?
Still holding up well. Had to do a good acid decon, seems to get contaminated after about 6 months.

Usually if trim is in good condition you don't need a trim specific coating.

Guaranteed 8 years?
They do not have any info on a guarantee however it's mostly going to come down to driving conditions and your car wash habits.
Did you coat the glass too?
not this time
