One thing I learned many years ago in the Army was any fool can rough it! So anything to make life easier and can take the strain is an advantage! I like that motor I like the idea of that motor. And a cracking Walter
Happy for you buddy be safe on that thing . Here's an idea man get you a flat bottom boat with a outback motor you'll get a whole new fan base and it's safer for you and more spacious energy conserving more durable etc
If your kayak is registered you may need to update it. Most of the canoes and kayaks in Iowa are registered for no motor no sail but can be upgraded for power usage. Looks like a great unit. Keep up the great videos.
You gotta make a trip to east Tennessee next spring. 2-5 lb white bass 2-3 every cast. Plus skips are plentiful then too so you fill a cooler with bait, and release the whitebass.
Looks like a right turn may get a little tricky! Cool set up! Now your arms will be more ready when that 70#er hits your line this year! (Foreshadowing) lol!
They make 'em, it runs with a little turning knob on one side, and a throttle lever on the other side. I'm wearing lacrosse 400 gram thinsulate boots. Can't remember the exact ones. I really like them though.
Picking up my new Wilderness Systems Radar 115 with pedal drive next week, can NOT wait to pedal instead of paddle lol. Maybe, MAYBE I might throw a troller on there at some point. Wilderness does sell a pod motor.
@@RiverCertified I can't wait, would have finished paying it off already if not for covid ugh and sure would have been nice to have it during my time off but oh well, back to work
Hey what did u miss it on? Bait? I’ve been throwing huge and small creek chubs live and cut up just trying different things and no luck for me. Been really slow here. Only small channels
Can you give me an update, on how its holding up ? Pro's and Cons Video of you owing it, would be very helpful, am looking to buy something similar soon
It gets to a point that makes me wonder.. Why not just get a boat.. i had a 13ft Yak with a mini Kota Terrova.. I'm back in a boat the yak was cool for awhile but the boat is so much better..
I agree 100%. Boats are more enjoyable to fish out of. For me its a mixture of time and money. Every time I worked on my old boat, all I could think was "Man, I could be fishing right now." With this rig, I'm fishing more and not cleaning trailer bearings, redoing wiring connections, or rebuilding carbs.
@@RiverCertifiedI get it but my yak got to a point it was on a trailer aswell.. Maintenance made it a easy choice to get back into the comfort of a Boat
Should have bought a Ultralight 1103. Basically the same motor but with a throttle control that you could mount beside you. Not to mention, you can raise/lower your motor and rig to steer your kayak either by foot steer or hand steer. I will eventually upgrade to a 1103 but for now my 403 is working great for me.
@@RiverCertified hmmm, takes me less than a min to mount my 403. Maybe another min to connect both cables. But either way it will definitely make your fishing more productive. Being able to cover distance. One thing though, do not go WOT all the time, it will deplete your battery FAST especially with the 1103. Key is to find the most efficient speed with your particular kayak. I am guessing 4.5-5mph, that should roughly give you a range of 16-17 miles.
Four specie trip. Would have been a great catch and cook taste comparison vid. I found 15 if the biggest morels Ive ever found yesterday. Four pounds with 15. Cooked em with some crappy for my wife for mother's day. Gardens coming up. Hate to keep covering it at night tho. Keep your powder dry young man.
Those are some giant mushrooms. Must mean we only have a week or so left up here. Bet she loved that meal. Not many would turn it down. Thanks for always watching sir!
I wish i had more places and spots to go to like you do. It seems like every video you get hooked up on something good lol. I’m still trying to find some spots of my own because the public places are just fished out and full of garbage.
Yummy walleyes! Not sure putting all that stuff on your kayak it’s still a kayak ? Lol ! Looks a little over loaded ! Pain in ass almost.. but hauling camping gear too a sand bar it would be great ! I think/hope !
Thanks dude. That one runs 2700, which is about the same as a 80 lb thrust trolling motor and lithium battery. But the torqeedo is lighter, which was the big sell for me. It pushed me 1.1 miles down river and back up to the ramp with 10% battery left, so hopefully get me 3+ miles on a smaller river with less current.
Lol bro he could be your brother almost twin. All jokes aside though man great fishing videos. I don’t comment alot bc most of the time i watch your videos on my tv and it doesn’t have a comment option but i keep up with all your stuff. Fish on buddy.

Considering the price of lithium batteries, I don't think it's too bad. You can always go with a trolling motor and deep cycle battery, its just gonna be heavy

I think it definitely helps me spend more time with baits in the water, which is the real key to fishing, at least in my opinion.
That’s pretty neat.

Looks like a lot of fun with that motor! Nice Walter too!

Nice Mr. Walter! I'm impressed how well your Back to the Future looking trolling motor worked.

nice walter and motor just remember it will take you farther so leave plenty of battery to get back..
That's why I will try to only go upstream if I can help it😁

My thoughts exactly. Gonna be able to look around a whole lot better, and hopefully increase my fishing time.
Dandy walleye 👍

I want to BAD. It just sucks its about 13 hours away.
Drove to miami from here once that was 13 hours. Cant blame you cause I wont do that again.lol
If you ever do want to plan it I've got spots I'll give and an empty room if free lodging would help. Winter and spring is my recommendation.
Thst thing is slick man!
I think it will be really helpful if the river stays down!
Enjoy your motor...Looking forward to some big cats...
I might have some on the edit block😁
Well, so much for keeping up with ya...
Haha I need all the help I can get
Nice walleye Spencer! I lost one last saturday, it hurt cause it was the biggest one for me yet!

Nice video buddy. New motor, huh. It looks faster then 3 mph . Lol. Keep up the great fishing videos big S. Be safe

Mainly weight and power. Its lighter than a trolling motor and battery, and more powerful
interesting , good video
