Watching Hannah succumb to the bewitching powers of Aaron Tveit is something I’ve waited for forever. PLEASE watch more of his stuff! And more Schmigadoon!
Schmigadoon was great! And the second season is good too (Schmicago). Actually I think I preferred it over Galavant which was also good but the “zapped to a musical world” has more appeal to me.
You should definitely do more Schmigadoon, please! Also, Aaron Tveit is SO GOOD. I’m sure that a reaction of him singing El Tango de Roxane in Moulin Rouge would be great!
Yeaaah Schmigadoon!! You need to see the whole show, the two seasons are sooooo good! The first one is so poppy, bubbly, full color and the musical numbers are so good! The cast is sooooo amazing, like Keegan Michael Key, Cecily Strong, Dove Cameron, Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cummings, Ariana DeBose, Aaron Tveit, Jane Krakowski, etc... I can't name everyone but there are a lot of famous people who did Broadway! Plus the references in the songs, you can sometimes recognize some notes or some lyrics because it's meant for theater nerd!
Aaron is amazing! My one critique of him is that I've never heard him but gravel in his voice and I'm not sure if he can growl at all. He's amazing at angelic but I'm wondering if that's all he can do.
Please watch ALL of this series. It is fantastic. I'm so glad you actually appreciate it! It seems to divide a lot of MT fans. Also Aaron's solo at the start at the part "Exactly how I'd be..." was more reminiscent to me of 'If I Loved You' from Carousel.
No joke I just start singing If I Loved You immediately. The Carousel is strong in this episode. And Aaron's character JUST Billy 😂❤ Also, Corn Puddin' giving me Clam Bake ptsd flashbacks 🤣
It's a parody of the musical Brigadoon, that's all I really know and that it has other musicals referenced, as in the intro song referencing Oklahoma. Also the guy singing the first solo song is Aaron Tviet, massive musical star. Original Broadway Cristian in Moulin Rouge, he's played Fiyero in Wicked, Rent as an understudy and a main character, one of the main characters in Catch me if you can, One of the main characters in Next to Normal, he's been in Gossip Girl. He's Enjolras in the Les Mis movie and Danny in Grease Live and many other things.
7:17 that isn't Gershwin, it's Rodger's and Hammerstein "Carousel", it's from the song If I Loved You. His character is a parody of the male role in that musical. 💕
I came here about this too. I was like, "unless it's a double Easter egg, it's actually a Carousel Easter egg, haha." So many fun musical Easter eggs in this show!
ABSOLUTELY KEEP WATCHING! My favorite part of Schmigadoon has been watching my friends enjoy it for the first time. You’ve got so many more shows that will get referenced (Oklahoma!, Sound of Music, Music Man, etc.), more Broadway legends singing (more Cheno, Alan Cumming, Ann Harada, Ariana DeBose in a TAP number, Jane Krakowski), and more extremely catchy numbers. I can’t wait to see your reaction to the finale song in terms of the blending of theatre genres.
You should totally react to the rest of Schmigadoon. I wouldn't mind seeing some reactions to the songs from Galavant, the ABC medieval musical comedy series from a few yrs ago written by Alan Menken. LOVE that show.
how is Hannah calling frickin Aaron Tveit "this guy" kdjcbajkvb OMG, HE'S FLAWLESS. Still I love that she has heard, seen, simp him lol. Love Schmigadoon so much, thanks Hannah for this, KEEP DOING IT PLS.
The show Galavant is also a musical show!! It's also just so funny and if you enjoy medieval-era vibes, I think you would really enjoy it! I highly recommend it if you haven't checked it out!!!
You absolutely need to react to the rest of the show. It’s so incredibly fun and just full of so many musical deep cuts. Plus the cast is so talented that you just gotta see all the performances.
Jessica Vosk is in season 2 Schmicago starting at 3:28 I pray they bring her back & give her a bigger part. Was lucky enough to see her in Wicked 2017 Cincinnati, Ohio She is so AWESOME!!!
You're one of my favorite reactor and I am so so happy you finally reacted to Aaron Tveit (he's one of my favorite Broadway performer) I could cry !!! Thanks for the reaction !!! Edit: Looking forward if you're gonna react to more Schmigadoon, but (and I know everyone already say this) it'll be lovely too if you wanna react to more Aaron Tveit! He's in Les Mis 2012 movie as Enjolras, originated Christian in Moulin Rouge, Frank in Catch Me If You Can, and Gabe in Next to Normal. He's also Danny in Grease Live + other things like Roger in one of Rent production, Fiyero in Wicked. Which, by the way, his cover of Defying Gravity and Popular for Out of Oz are to die for. Also his Miscast performances are always great (Take Me or Leave Me with him as Maureen and Gavin Creel as Joanne is my favorite)
Schmigadoon won an Emmy for “outstanding original music and lyrics” 2022 for the song “Corn Puddin’”. They were also nominated for outstanding music composition for a series, outstanding choreography for scripted program, and outstanding production design for a narrative program..
Yes!!! I love Schmigadoon, and Schmicago!! And please do more with Aaron Tveit! I would love to see you react to his Miscast performance with Gavin Creel (either of them), or his Colbert performance with KO of Your Song
I would love to see more Schmigadoon reactions, but I would ALSO adore if you reacted to more Aaron Tveit bc he is so fantastic. I really love what I've seen from him from Moulin Rouge, but also there is a video of him doing Mein Herr that I can't stop watching!
you should definitely react to the entire show. i just binge watched the whole thing last night and couldn't stop thinking about how much you would enjoy it!
Schmigadoon is such a fun show! I’d love to see you to react to Season 2 as well; that season is centered around darker musicals from the 60s-70s (Chicago, Sweeney Todd, etc.).
Oh my gosh, I have been WAITING for you to do this. I really hope you continue!! It's a fantastic series and I think you'll have such an amazing time watching it - and we'll have an amazing time watching you watch it!!
There are so many references to the Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals in these clips! "Somehow I can see just exactly how I'd be" is a line from "If I Loved You" from Carousel, and the whole dialogue lines about "Are you trying to get me to marry you? Then what's putting it into my head" is another Carousel Reference. The spelling out of the town name is like the title song from Oklahoma. The bridge in the forest to the town is like the scene from Brigadoon, which isn't Rodgers and Hammerstein, but still. This show seems so cool!
Oh yes, please keep watching this! The first season is phenomenal and chock-full of musical theatre easter eggs, and the second season was somehow even better.
One HUNDRED PERCENT watch & react to every single episode of every season. So many songs! So many talented people! The cast is just about the greatest that’s ever been pulled together, and the freaking writing cannot be beat. The songs are already staples in my house on repeat. You must watch! 😊
My GF just introduced me to Shmigadoon, we burned s1 and s2 in 3 days... haven't been back to your channel in about 1yr - we moved and I was offline for a while.. but upon coming back, was happy to see you reviewed this. It's a great show! 👍
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO MORE! This series is amazing! I love it so much! I have watched both seasons more times than I can count and it is a blast! Beautiful series!
The fact this show flies so under the radar is a tragedy. The talent combined with the odd combination of respect but mockery for the musical formula is so fantastic. Really feel they undersell this show in the marketing, I happened to come by it a few months back due to a random apple tv add. Wasn't specifically for the show, but a combination of their lineup. The minute I was aware, I knew I had to check it out.
omg im SO happy you're reacting to schmigadoon (it's one of my favourite shows) and also yes there's A LOT of famous people known for musical theatre in this show the cast is actually INSANE
The “girl” you saw running through one of the scenes from The Prom is Ariana Debose. She won the Oscar for best supporting actress last year for playing Anita in West Side Story. She’s also hosted the Tony’s twice. I’m surprised you’re not more familiar with her. She’s an incredible talent. Thank you for checking out this show--I’ve heard great things about it too and I like your reactions!!! I hope you’re doing well ☺️
Someday we'll be talking about Ariana DeBose the same we way talk about Salonga, LuPone, Streisand, and all the other musical theatre legends. She's incredible.
I'm so happy you brought up Aaron Tveit's ability to come right out to bat with a vibrato; he's such a talented singer, I loved him in Les Mis! You can see his classical theatre training in how he can hold a vibrato immediately on a sustained note, but it's clear and concise, and such a delight to hear. Hannah, I'd love to see you react to the 2004 Phantom of the Opera with Gerard Butler, Emmy Rossum, Patrick Wilson, Minnie Driver, and more. I'd also love to see you react to the 2012 'movie' of Love Never Dies, POTO's sequel by ALW, with Ben Lewis, Anna O'Byrne, and Maria Mercedes. Another couple of classics to consider are OKLAHOMA! and Hello, Dolly! I saw Love Never Dies live in theatre here in one of our concert halls in OKC and it was an incredibly gorgeous show visually. The story was interesting to me, but I know it's one of those that has divided POTO fans everywhere (similar to 'who's the best phantom' debates). Can't wait to see more from you, I love watching your stuff!
Ahhh I needed this today! Also, I love Kiss Me Kate too. But the line "And somehow I can see, just exactly how it'd be" --- is from If I Loved You, from Carousel (his character is like Billy Bigelow)
Schmigadoon is the greatest gift ever to fans of musical theater. Also, most of the cast have won Tony’s, Oscar’s, or Emmys. The chorus are all Broadway performers. The talent level is off the charts. You are going to love this show. Subscribing because I love watching people discover/react to this show.
Omg please react to every episode! They all have such good songs and so many musical references it's insane! Schmigadoon is genuinely one of my favorite shows ever!!
Schmigadoon has introduced my middle America self to so many good broadway performers and even if you don’t react to it all you should watch both seasons for pure entertainment.
aaron tveit is from my hometown and my mom used to work with his so whenever i see him in anything i just feel so giddy lol he is so dreamy and talented
Absolutely watch more, please! Btw, there are multiple Easter Eggs in not only each song, but in almost every scene from classic Broadway musicals. See if you can find them all! 😉
Omg I love that you’re watching this. I too literally just found out about this a couple weeks ago and am all caught up. Literally the best show, so cute, I hope you watch every episode. I like the first season better but still enjoy it. Hope there’s a 3rd season
More Schmigadoon is a must! It's such a short show but the songs are all amazing. I'd also love to see you react to Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, as that's the show that's truly taken over my music life lately.
YES I’ve been hoping you would watch Schmigadoon! Even if you don’t do videos for all of it, please watch it all! It’s so well done and I don’t think it’s gotten enough hype. Great video as always💞
I'd love to see you react to season 2 as well. It's sooooooo good! Really excited you're doing this! Amd yes, id love to see your reactions to all the episodes and songs!
Definitely do every episode!!! I’m obsessed, I’ve been doing some coverage with people on my podcast on the side I love it so much! Interviewing the choreographer in a few days ahhh
You should definitely watch more of Schmigadoon, it's great! Also, I think you'll like "Grease: The Rise of the Pink Ladies" it is a musical series as well and it is packed with musical numbers every episode.
Unfortunately it's been canceled and isn't available anywhere. Like, anywhere. It's scary that tv shows and movies are starting to disappear without any physical copies.
Pleaaaase watch the whole series. It’s so great (I particularly love the second season even more) but it gets absolutely no noise. It deserves better!!!
It's such a fun ride - especially for theater lovers. BTW, although it was "Gershwin" -like, that number was totally playing off of Carousel. I sure do enjoy your insights!
Yes you should watch more!!!! First season is golden era of musicals like Brigadoon, Oklahoma etc. second season moves to darker musicals: Sweeney Todd, Chicago, Cabaret style.
Watching Hannah succumb to the bewitching powers of Aaron Tveit is something I’ve waited for forever. PLEASE watch more of his stuff! And more Schmigadoon!
PLEASE do more. I grinned stupidly through this entire review.
Same!
Yes please!!!❤
Schmigadoon was great! And the second season is good too (Schmicago). Actually I think I preferred it over Galavant which was also good but the “zapped to a musical world” has more appeal to me.
@@MaidenArtsStudio I preferred the first season. Mostly because I prefer that era of musicals. But both were incredibly impressive.
You should definitely do more Schmigadoon, please! Also, Aaron Tveit is SO GOOD. I’m sure that a reaction of him singing El Tango de Roxane in Moulin Rouge would be great!
oh i absolutely second this !!
@@juliaborden third!
Fourth!! Anything Aaron Tveit does would be fantastic, really.
Came here to comment just this ❤
fiftheded. We all know the bit of that song we are talking about!
Can we just a minute for Hannah’s hair looking so good oh my gosh?????
All I want is for my hair to look like hers all the time
Her hair is literally alwyssss so perfect
Her hair 😍
Like her face❤️
I can't get mine anywhere near that quality of colour or texture.....then I remember I'm bald..
Yeaaah Schmigadoon!! You need to see the whole show, the two seasons are sooooo good! The first one is so poppy, bubbly, full color and the musical numbers are so good!

I loved the sound of music references.
Alan Cummings & Ariana DeBose were my highlights in season 1 & Cecily Strong, Dove Cameron, & Jane Krakowski were my highlights in season 2
Yes!! Im so happy to finally see someone react and acknowledge Aaron Tveit! His voice is amazing!!
Aaron is amazing! My one critique of him is that I've never heard him but gravel in his voice and I'm not sure if he can growl at all. He's amazing at angelic but I'm wondering if that's all he can do.
AGREED!!! No one ever reacts to Aaron Tveit and he's so good!
@@janepeterson9666 have you ever listened to a live recording of him singing El Tango de Roxanne from Moulin Rouge? Highly recommend it:)
We need more Aaron reactions!
I just love his voice on the moulin rouge soundtrack.
Please watch ALL of this series. It is fantastic. I'm so glad you actually appreciate it! It seems to divide a lot of MT fans.

@@FantomTangents June is Bustin' out all over!
There’s a different song a few episodes in that is more “Kiss Me Kate” inspired.
The guy who sang with all that vibrato is Aaron Tveit. He played Enjolras in the Les Miserable movie!
I love Hannah so freaking much, but her not knowing who Aaron Tveit is broke my heart 😂😂
It's a parody of the musical Brigadoon, that's all I really know and that it has other musicals referenced, as in the intro song referencing Oklahoma. I literally watched schmiggadoon because he’s in it! I can’t BELIEVE Hannah doesn’t know of him (yet!)
(And we all simp for him, it’s fine 😅
Aaron Tveit's character is an amalgamation of several leading men of the musicals during the golden age, most remarkable Billy Bigelow from Carousel.
7:17 that isn't Gershwin, it's Rodger's and Hammerstein "Carousel", it's from the song If I Loved You. His character is a parody of the male role in that musical. 💕

Beat me to it :)
Did you not know about Aaron Tveit?? He won a tony award and starred in many broadway shows my favvvv

Wooo; Schmigadoon! You should definitely check up the other five episodes in this series as well as the second series (also six episodes).
SCHMIGADOON! I'M SO HAPPY!!!! also her telling aaron to sing again is so relatable

Amd yes, id love to see your reactions to all the episodes and songs!
yesssss pls do the whole show!! it's so good and has a TON of musical references!!
YASSSS! It’s never a bad day w/ a Hannah Bayles vid! :D
Yep ! Hannah’s videos always make my day and always cheer me up 😊😊😊
@Hannah Bayles please react to more of Schmigadoon! It's all so fun!!
YESSSS! Please do all of them! Season 2 GETS SO GOOD!
I love this play on Brigadoon! And that first number has so many calls to Oklahoma and I absolutely love it!
