This movie understood that Abba is a Mom TM band and the energy was SO right for it, nothing quite compares to watching this with your mom that you have a great relationship with and that you can see in Donna and her friends. It's just pure love and joy. i'm so glad you finally got to see it ♥

My mom and I adored this movie, and she always said that Slipping Through My Fingers reminded her of us. I played it at her funeral and for the longest time, avoided that song and this movie because it was just too hard but watching this today made me so emotional in the best kind of way. I got to recall those good memories of us watching this at home and singing along. They made me really smile.

In the UK, at the end of last year, there was a reality show called Mamma Mia: I Have A Dream. The show happened in Greece and the goal was to be the next Sophie and Sky in the West End. The winners began their run last week. I recommend checking on it! The performances are on TH-cam and the contestants were all the good! The judges were nice too, their critics weren't too harsh but they were mostly right. The show was very good and I appreciated it!

Slipping through my fingers was the first song I sand to my daughter acapella as a baby and she learned the words as a toddler and now she sings with me. I turned her on to Mamma Mia and then the second movie too and now she’s almost 4 and remembers what’s happening in each scene while she’s listening to the soundtrack
I'm surprised you couldn't hear that they sang live. I'm not a vocal coach, but I can clearly hear that it's live and hasn't been mixed with in a studio. I'm happy you said Pierce Brosnan has a pretty good voice because boy did he get critised criticised for his singing voice when this came out. I never understood the hate because he sounds fine to me. I think him, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgård has pretty much similar vocal ability and no one said anything about them.
I love Abba, and I have their Greatest hits cd somewhere. I got to see Mamma Mia! in a theatre in London, but this film is so good. Meryl Streel and Amanda Seyfried are amazing, and although I'm not sure how I feel about Pierce Brosnan's singing, this is a great musical. It's wild that Abba songs are so old and yet never get old.
I cant watch "lay all your love on me" without noticing the very obvious costume mistake. When skye lies sophie back on the beach you can see the top of her navy joggers on the left of the screen. I was already 100% in love wth Pierce Brosnan anyway but after watchin him sing SOS (His face at 20:27 always gets me)... I always melt whenever i see him. The older he gets the more gorgeous he gets. He admits himself hes not got a brilliant singing voice but be really wanted to be part of this film and he did amazingly well. And, can we all just appreciate that Meryl sang The Winner Takes it All, live and in ONE TAKE. Urgh. My heart cant take it
