Rhodenite and Fluorite are cross-gem fusions, wrong by virtue of who they love. Padparadcha and the Rutile Twins came out "wrong." It's also kind of sad because by their dialog, they appear to buy into the Homeworld propaganda that they are wrong

In case you didn't know, Fluorite speaks slowly because she has so many component Gems, which all have their own thoughts and opinions. They each need time to decide on what they will say together as Fluorite. This results in her slow speech. It is also worth noting that Alexandrite also talks slowly. As soon as she talks any faster, it's Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl arguing with each other as we have seen. The reason a two Gem fusions can talk normally is due to a strong relationship. Just 2 minds together can pretty easily work on the same thought together and generally have the same opinion. Garnet, for example, talks fast because their relationship is strong, and that's why they don't need to ensure that the answer is what both parts want. They are sure of it. Sapphire also has future vision and can pretty easily know if they agree or not, and Ruby trusts her. Only when they have absolutely different opinions do they separate. When Pearl lied to them, for instance. Even if all of the Gems in Fluorite had the same opinion, it would still take time for all 6 to come to that understanding together. With 2 people: do you agree? Yes. With 6: do you all agree? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Explaining eachothers point of view would take even longer.

Tbf it makes sense, since when Connie & Steven found the book of Beach City’s founder, there was one account of him meeting Rose and her pack of 7 lions in the desert. I forget what time period they said that event took place in, but judging by the depictions of Garnet & Pearl in outfits from colonial times, I’d have to guess as far back as the 1700s at least? I don’t know if we can prove that Lion’s been around for centuries, but he at the very least did die at some point, and Rose brought him back. I headcannon that our Lion is one of the original 7 from that story. Not immortal mind you, just with an insanely longer lifespan now. And STILL, Rose somehow hid him from Pearl for YEARS!!
Makes me think of Jasper's line with Rose taking in others when they feel weak and pathetic like I'm imagining some dark scenario with Rose harming others to make an army of humans who can live longer
So, Steven's spit heals and his tears revive the dead but turns them pink and gives them wormhole powers. Rose Quartz had healing tears, so is it her spit that turned Lion pink and gave him wormhole powers? And if so... does that make her a Lion Licker? As for Lion making a portal to Homeworld, it exhausted Lion to make a portal from Earth to the Moon. Getting to the nearest star would be a hundred million times farther, and Homeworld is said to be outside the Milky Way, meaning it's AT LEAST 5000 times farther away than the nearest star and possibly *billions* of times farther away. There's no way Lion can make a portal there.
A comment I saw a while ago pointed out how funny it was that Steven and roses healing is inverse. Steven heals with his saliva or kissing, an act of affection. While rose heals with her tears, an act of empathy. TLDR: roses act of empathy heals, and acts of affection presumably revives while Steven does the opposite

Jasper’s went on a whole tangent of how those who don’t fit into Homeworld’s mold and the Diamonds’ perfect order “must be purged,” HomeWorld’s rhetoric. The “Others” who apparently don’t belong in that vision-the Off Colors-include Rhodonite, Padparadscha, Fluorite, and the Rutile twins. You picked up on a lot of their quirks! Rhodonite is another cross-gem fusion like Garnet (interracial relationships or children born of mixed race parents). Fun fact: they’re a pearl and a Ruby fused together, so basically Sardonyx minus Sapphire! Padparadscha is a Sapphire who’s a little slow (someone with a developmental disability). Fluorite can be viewed as another cross-gem fusion, elderly, or as polyamorous relationship, being made up of 6 gems who’ve been together for ages. And the Rutile Twins are a fill in for people with physical birth defects, or even conjoined twins. Because HomeWorld doesn’t accept them for a myriad of reasons, they live underground in hiding, but they’ve found family and strength in each other. 🥺
Some fun gem facts: Rutile is usually parallel needle-like crystals that are used in paints and pigments because they polarize light. But, sometimes the crystals form branches instead! Padparadscha “sapphires” range from pink to yellow to orange. All ruby and sapphires are varieties of corundum (clear when pure) with different impurities (chromium red, iron and titanium blue). So, while usually marketed as sapphires, peachy-pink corundum like Padparadscha is maybe better described as a purer-than-usual ruby.

Imma be honest i loved lars’ redemption but i wish it happened a bit earlier so i could see him be his true self a bit more. I related a lot to lars with having severe social anxiety and constantly worrying what everyone thinks about you. It made me so happy to see him be freely himself without worry.
I know im responding late but it actually makes sense that Lars would only ever feel comfortable acting like himself AWAY from society and its standards. like when they were deserted on the island or when he was captain of his own ship. there are no expectations and it makes him feel safer

You can identify our Lion in that scene by the shape of his nose and mane. He was definitely part of that posse.
