I do agree the Lars change feels sudden but Lars’s character development has been consistently happening throughout the whole series and he’s slowly became a better person but like if I died and came back to life I would rethink some life decisions to lmao

Steven is always trying to fix everyone's issues but because He is the issue in this case for Connie and she wants to take a break from him it's really hard for Steven to let that go because he is so used to always be busy with others and just wants to fix and make up as fast as possible. It's also just a way for him to not deal with his own feelings.
I won't confirm or deny but I had the same theory about pearl at one point. I want to point out a hint that's shown up multiple times in the show so far but I feel like even that would say too much lol
I feel bad for both Peridot and Lapis. Peridot want to stay on Earth to fight the Diamonds, but Lapis refuses and took the barn with her into space 😢😢😢💔💔💔

I think Connie made a dumb decision to leave the way she did. Like Steven said, he had a very tough decision to make...and no matter what Connie thinks, she can't help in a situation against seasoned Homeworld Gems. It'd be like sending a rookie Army trooper into the prime Nazi HQ in WWII
Yeah but that’s not the point she’s making, during sworn to the sword pearl was all like “you have to die to serve and protect him” to Connie but towards the end Steven made the very clear point that they don’t have to sacrifice each other selves to save the other instead he said that they should fight together and be a team, then he sacrificed him self to home world to save everyone else betraying the whole idea he came up with, and betraying her trust.

And this made Steven himself validate Connie’s feelings because after they spent so long promising each other that they would always work TOGETHER he gave up without even trying. Plus they’re like middle school age, her wanting some space away from him is about the most mature thing she could’ve done.

The difference is that when (against her wishes) Lapis found herself in a fight, she tried to protect the people she cared about.
