The songs of the seekers and her singing is over 50 yrs old but there are still many people who hear and loves both. Can we say this from the modern "singers", too, in 50 yrs...? I dont think so. Thats a real and eternal legacy these band and Judith gave us.

This is only a suggestion, and I don't think ANYONE could replicate the abfab voice of Judith and The Seekers,; but do you think Susan Boyle would do a favourable rendition of The Carnival Is Over? I really would love to see and hear Susan sing this thought-provoking song; wouldn't you? They both - Judith and Susan - have the 'same sort of singing voice'; don't they? If you, or anyone has any idea how to make this happen, please let me know.

My husband passed some six years ago and this particular song brought us comfort when he learnt his illness was incurable. We often played it as we sat cuddled in together. We both wanted the world to stop revolving but that was sheer fantasy and wishful thinking. We were blessed with four more months together and I cannot say how often we played this song. Of course, I still miss my husband more than words can express, however, I have my memories and this beautiful song. To those out there who have lost a loved one, I send you love and prayers and for those deeply in love, I ask that you remember to tell one another how much you really do love them.

I sat my children on my lap and now my grandchildren and in a croaky deep voice, while jiggling them up and down to get the vibrato going singing, 'Wandering Star'; my daughter tells me she does it now also and I think it may be something that continues on. Just like with your dad, the happy memories of favourite songs truly keeps us going; this was probably one of the first Albums which we purchased as a family and I am still captured by their performances. I can't remember the name of the Album but just like the song goes, Everyone's a Winner.

I first heard this song when I was 5 years old in 1965 in Malaysia. At that time, I never knew who the singers were. Today I heard it again when I am 59 years old. I was moved to tears. But I did not want to keep this beautiful memory to myself, so I invited my daughter Ruth (18 years) to listen to this song. I told her my childhood story, growing up and listening to this song. When she heard it, she started to cry as well. And we both hugged each other and cried. We were amazed at Judith's voice, the male accompaniments and the unforgettable lyrics. So touching.

The reason was that the melody is an old Russian folk song that he had known as a child in Latvia. He passed away in 1971, and my late wife in 2015. I have since remarried and moved from Australia to the Philippines, and now I introduce my Filipina wife to this wonderful song. It always reminds me that it's important to live in the moment. Ended up myself crying as I hear the lyrics of this song now that Madam's Judith is no longer with us. I'm a 31-year old lad from the Philippines who supposed to be a fan of modern-day songs; but this group (The Seekers) indeed caught my heart after I have listened to their greatest hits "Georgy Girl", "I'll never find another you" and "The Carnival is over". Hate to hear the lyrics sang by Madam Judith. She had lived an awesome and amazing life, a very distinct voice that is uniquely hers; a very vibrant and joyous melody. My favorite Australian quartet will never be complete without her. Such respect and she''ll be badly, definitely and greatly missed. Rest in power from Manila!

      R. V. Datmir who is Anna German? The Seekers is definitely the best known version.

@@simonramsay6080 Best-known yes, but being best-known does not make anything the best. The Russian lyrics have much more power, and Anna German enhanced it greatly. Look her up. You will find her interesting at the very least.

What can you say about this amazing singer, she is pure gold. Stops me dead in my tracks. She is with out doubt the greatest female singer of all time. What a voice, sings like an angel, a great gift from God. Thank you Judith and your fellow musicians and band members. 😁

Long ago I had the opportunity to see the Seekers live in London. Never will forget that experience. Judith's voice is incredible and she also deserves a Moodys rating of AAA for her personality.
