    Hi! So I used OLIVE OIL and I do not recommend air frying that will dry them out but thats just personal preference :)

      Any particular reason you're using olive oil instead of something like peanut oil? I've read in multiple places that olive oil is not recommended for use in deep fryers due to the lower smoke point.

      Hi Victoria! 👋- I used your Einkorn Flour for this recipe but the dough was very dry and crumbly, I had to add water to it just to be able to form dough 😢. They did rise in my gas oven (I do not have an oven light.😮) . I had difficulty getting my oil to the correct temperature and maintaining it on my gas stove top. Unfortunately, the resulting donuts were overcooked and dense, although the flavor was OK. Oh well…Thanks for all your recipes and research.

  • @silverrider07
    @silverrider07 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    I made these following the recipe exactly, using the "perfected" keto flour too. If you're not expecting krispy kreme they might be ok. They are still heavy and dense like other keto donuts. Almonds aren't wheat, so I don't think keto will ever have a soft fluffy squishy donut, like a krispy kreme kind of thing.

    You know what might also be REALLY good as a glaze for these? Choc zero chocolate fudge sauce heated up in the microwave! Just dip the top and you have chocolate glazed donuts! Their caramel sauce is the closest to the real thing I have ever found. I drizzle it on keto ice cream and its amazing!

    I have a suggestion or two. Brush the donut cutter with a little oil. Olive oil is not the oil I’d choose for a donut. My choice would be a neutral oil such as avocado or an “expeller pressed” neutral tasting oil. I’m hoping to try this recipe one day. I just found your channel through the Keto Twins.

I put together a container of your Perfected Keto flour yesterday and made your homemade Keto bread recipe yesterday too along with my recipe for Keto Crack Chicken Soup. My husband loved the Keto bread and so do I. That will be a keeper for us. I think I should have baked it a little longer but it was still very good. I put a slice in my air fryer for lunch. I would never get a dog again for several reasons, the biggest being I have severe autoimmune issues and cats just seem so much easier to take care of, no walking them in the rain or cold weather, just a whole lot of kitty box clean up. 😅

    I was thinking of using coconut oil but as they cool I’m afraid they would feel greasy in your mouth

    I don't have a fryer, if I used a skillet would they have to be immersed completely in the oil? Does that make sense?

      Yes just use a thermometer to have the oil at the right temp

    Hi Victoria, did you mention what pre-baking the donuts before frying them does?

      Yes it cooks the inside’s because frying does not. If u don’t pre bake they will be more dense and not fully cooked inside
