    My daughter misses donuts the most. Its so hard for kids to be GF. I’m excited to try this for her!

    Still to this day. These are my favorite doughnuts. Especially the ones with the fluffy white filling. Worth all the efforts to make homemade marshmallow fluff

      @LetThemEatGlutenFreeCake I tried it yesterday and it didn't work. The yesterday somehow died or something. I was so sad. I added the Dried instant yeast to the flour mixed before adding sugar and salt. And didn't let it ferment in milk or at room temperature. As soon as the dough was mixed I put it in fridge. I'll definitely not do that in the future

    Fried my batch up, today! The family loved them! I used a heavy dutch oven pot for frying and expeller-pressed canola oil, heated to around 230-235F for the best results for me. They requested plain glazed, chocolate covered and cinnamon/sugar covered donuts. Thank-you so much for this recipe and this tutorial!!! Now, what to do with the second half of dough ...... :)

    I'm so glad I found your channel, and through it, your blog. I was diagnosed with Celiac's over a decade ago and donuts are one of the few things I haven't perfected myself or found a good pre-made substitute for. Thank you for sharing your recipes - it reminds me why I love baking and cooking so much

    I just said to my husband 2 days ago I have not had a yeast Donut or raspberry filled Donut in over 3 years I LOVE DONUTS and I will definitely make these tomorrow 😊

    your recipes are straight from heaven.. thank you so much for that.. the only problem I face is when I reduce the ingredients I think it messes up the result. so I have to make the whole thing and I'm the only GF in fam.

      I'm so sorry about that! I wish there was a way I could correct, but unfortunately, because I make my own blend and it based on grams, the only way I can fix that is by making all recipes in grams and not cups. There are so many people that are so resistant to that change, though, so I can't do that at this time. Unfortunately, the only alternative right now is to break out the calculator and figure it by hand. So sorry 😞

    Awesome recipes! Just a thought: For the Hostess pastry type filling, you may want to try a little softer version of the Cannoli filling instead

    I have this proofing in the fridge now but the written instructions just says put the milk first and then "everything else" i noticed some clumps of either yeast or husk in my dough. Is it going to effect the outcome since i didn't add the yeast to my milk directly?

    I agree with the tempature. Anything above 325 will burn, because of the butter.

    Does the dough have to be cold proofed
    I already made the the dough but made it initially for cinnamon rolls then I saw this recipe do you think I can I make donuts instead with my already proofed dough that’s waiting in the fridge

    Oh wow! I am so impressed by this recipe. They look amazing. I'd love to try them. I am coeliac and I haven't had donuts in 15 years. Can you use coconut milk or any other plant milk instead of cow's milk? Would that still work?

      I honestly have never tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. However, if you need to substitute the whey protein isolate in the flour blend, you'll get slightly different results, depending on the dairy-free protein powder you use.

    My dough is super sticky and they aren't rising 😩 What did i do wrong?

      Most likely it's something within the flour blend itself. Make sure you're using a superfine or ultrafine white rice flour in the flour blend.

    Can the dough be frozen? I really want to make these, but only have two people in my household. Even if I halve the batch, 12 donuts is still a lot. But if possible I'd love to freeze them!

      Yes, you can freeze the dough! You can either bulk freeze it in plastic wrap and a baggie, or you can cut out the donuts, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment, and freeze until solid. Then store in a ziptop bag and when ready to use, remove as many as you want from the freezer, place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and allow to thaw and rise until nearly doubled in size.

    1 . Can you use Dry Active Yeast as a substitution for Psyllium husk. And if so, can it require the same measurement?
    2. Does the Recipe work with 1:1 Gluten Free Baking Flour instead of Bread Flour? If so, does it require the same amount of measurement?

      1. No, yeast is not a replacement for psyllium husks. However, please read through the recipe as I state directly in the recipe how to make them without psyllium husks.
      2. I have not tried baking with any of the new flour blends out there (particularly King Arthur bread flour blend and Caputo flour blend), but none of the other ones on the market work the same as mine. You will not get the same results.

    I was happy when I saw the notification. But when I got here and you said just like Krispy Kreme? Whaaa! We don't like their texture. Or flavor. Or glaze. You need to come for a visit and replicate Donut Star. But for anyone who actually likes and misses Krispy Kreme, yay!!! I'm not celiac, just anti inflammatory, so the occasional gluten doesn't cause issues. We get one or two DonutStar donuts on the 1st Saturday of the month. So tomorrow is Donut Day. 🍩
