I agree. Farmers around me with families still drive these things. They just need all the space and towing capability.
@@gabrieldetwiler7078 exactly, the only other vehicle that comes close in towing capacity and seat capacity is probably the Chevrolet express
Lol I'm not a farmer but my wife loves hers people don't tail gate or drive like ass holes around her... also my family and my buddies family fit with the dogs and can still pull a 11k trailer... 16-20 mpg 9k# purple 2001 every loves it and she gets compliments everyday on it. also, if they sold it today it would cost 120k off the bat with a diesel...
I think the closest to this is the current Expedition max, idk how they name it but it's almost same size, a few other constructors have a similar big boye (Cadillace Escalade ESV...)
That 7.3 definitely has work done to it. Those don’t move out like that. Especially the 6.0. Those are all tuned
100%. Stock 6.0L Excursions may have done 0-60 in around 9 seconds or so. The 7.3L's were more like 11 to 12 seconds.
I drive one of these and that's because they have three modes you can set them to: City, race and X race. It's def possible to get an even shorter time than 8.8s and I've done it
@@adnansabanovic6488 thats funny. i own one. there are no sport modes for a 9000 pound suv. its a 6.0 and the fastest they go stock is like 9.7 secs.
The 7.3 is stock. Mine did the same time when stock.

7.3 definitely wasn’t stock. 6.0 seemed modded as well.

It's a diesel, low horsepower but high torque
The pilot is 280 horsepower and a top speed of 112 mph with the accord up to 124 mph
But why v10 rev to 4000 rpm??.?
And the accord is 189 hp engine
He forgot the 5.4
The latest Honda Pilot has 285 hp

It’s a heavy suv, can’t expect them to be fast regardless of the engine. They are meant to haul and pull and it does both well.
They’re not designed for fast acceleration. These are meant to haul around not only families, but boats, furniture, etc. These engines are pretty bulletproof and that was the point.

If you were going for torque, a 6.0 liter power stoke v8 with 2 less cylinders has more torque and horsepower in later gens. Compared to a 6.8 liter v10…….
Still love the truck 🛻 just my opinion tho.
Very low hp and torqu for such big engines. These days, 6 cyl make more power. If Ford came out with one of these today, they should slap a 5.0L Twin-Turbo Coyote V8 to it. Call it PowerBoost V8.

The 11 second can’t beat my Honda pilot and accord witch the accord rounded to 9.6 with pilot to 6.1.
Are you forgetting that this is an 8000lb truck designed to haul?
The v10 can’t beat my 2.4 DOHC (dual overhead camshaft) four cylinder and 3.5 v6 Dohc (dual overhead camshaft)
Does your Honda weight 3200kg? I think no.
Does your Honda can pull 4500kg trailer? I think no.
5.4 in those doesn’t even make it to 60 😂
6.0 was definitely not stock
