I played FM07 a lot, but it was always sad to see that Suarez wasn't as good as IRL. Playing as FC Groningen is hard too because you're expected to finish 3rd again, but the whole squad is pretty underrated compared to IRL. So very easy to get sacked the moment you slip into the mid-table. When I played Eredivisie with another club, Ron Jans would inevitably get sacked and replaced by Hans Westerhof in almost every save.
That's interesting, with FC Groningen was it possible to sign any big players or did they struggle to attract them? I'll have to have a go at coaching, from what you said it sounds like it could be a fun but challenging place to coach at on FM 07! Who else did you enjoy coaching on that edition of the game?
@@ReteroFM I think they just don't get a great budget, just like 1.5m or something. Could be a decent challenge. In FM07 though, I mainly played Ajax, Spurs, Valencia, Athletic Bilbao. Bilbao is a lot of fun because of the Basque player rule. And there the opposite is true: they have very low expectations, but the squad is top 6 material, even CL qualification is possible if all the stars align. They get young Javi Martinez and Fernando Llorente. The defence could use some shoring up, but otherwise a great team with a lot of potential, as long as you can hold on to those two talents.

damn I miss FM07. Had my longest save there with a 3-4-3 Inter squad with Ibra, Adriano, Klose and Luca Toni along the years. It was so much fun
