We called it "Libero" then, and it led to Sammer winning the Ballon dór, but in the end, this is exactly what made Beckenbauer and Sammer, tho these two were obviously generational talents with more offensive impact than a pivot, they almost played it like a box-to-box CB. But i love it non the less :)
