I like how they hated Tooty so much that she didn't even make it into the racing game, while a purple jinjo did.

As a fan of Banjo's sister Tooty, the fact that they didn't do anything with her deeply saddens me. 😢 She had so much potential, and they didn't do anything with her after Banjo-Kazooie. Don't get me wrong, I love the cute little jinjos, but I wish Banjo's sister Tooty got to go on adventures with him like Crash's sister Coco got to be a part of her brother's adventures.

Maybe we can say that planes can't go off track because of a grunty's spell? To me it kind of feels like an excuse that an instruction booklet would make :v
Sounds about right, but considering you can play as Grunty in this game, why would she cast the spell on her as well? Who knows...
Then again, Grunty isn't always so smart when you think about it. She could have automatically won in the first game by using the beauty-sucking machine on Tooty right away instead of waiting for Banjo to lose all lives or saved and quit the game. She could have stopped Banjo from getting certain jiggies in Tooie by not explaining the rules of certain minigames. AND she also could have easily won in the first game BY NOT LEAVING HER LAIR OPEN!
@@CloudConnection it's more to do with the engine the game is built on.
I've played so many games in my life and out of all of them the most impressive and fun game to me is still Diddy Kong Racing.

This a nice video and I have enjoyed your other videos but feel the need to point something out. Rubber banding in terms of AI and in particular racing games is not letting the player get too far ahead of the computer characters. If you notice in some racing games like most Mario Karts, you can get so far ahead that you lap the other racers. In other games, this is not possible because the rubber banding will ensure that the AI is always slightly behind you when you're winning. You can test this by cheating in boost items or otherwise making your character faster than they should normally be. If you get ahead and the other players stay put, no rubber banding. If they suddenly fly across the track to get behind where you are, there is rubber banding. Some games use it to more extreme effect than others but it is still the same idea.
What you're referring to I believe is modular difficulty which many games use. Games like RE4 use it to limit your resources when you're doing well and likewise give you more if you're struggling. Many games use it to substitute difficulty selections or to try to tailor the game to the player's skill level so they never feel too strong or weak.
Not trying to knock you at all, just trying to clarify a misuse of terms.
Thanks for the clarification! This was probably a result of me using more commonly understood terms to avoid getting too technical - which sometimes lead to oversimplification and misinformation. I do believe Banjo-Pilot does feature rubber banding, but I probably could've explained it better. Oh well; live and learn!
Late comer but I had to subscribe after seeing the interactions in the comments. There are many TH-camrs I’ve found that if you offer some criticism or correction they immediately attack you and insult you. Not you, every such reply from you has been positive and shows a genuine desire to listen to fans and feedback. Good job.

@@CloudConnection probably praise. "while not that great of a banjo game, I think this is a perfectly fine game on it's own" or something to that effect.
The reason planes slow down is due to engine limitations like doom, each part are 2d but rearranged into a 3d world map
I enjoy playing this game while I'm travelling. Its a good distraction on long boring train journeys.
I do still enjoy Banjo Pilot a lot, even with the issues it has. It could have ended up a lot worse but I'll take what we can get. Awesome video as always man, and I'll look forward to the N&B one.

@@magma1675 Well I don’t like the design of majority of the banjo cast in N&B. They lost a lot of the charm that the N64 games and Grunty’s revenge had. They at least looked like themselves in Pilot, and had that charm the previous games had. I am not saying Pilot is the best game ever, it has a lot of problems that he talked about it the video. I just personally don’t care what Rare turned the series into with N&B. That’s all. You don’t need to attack me for stating my opinion.

I remember reading somewhere about why kazooie was in a plane and the reason behind her being in a plane was mostly because it wouldn’t be fair if kazooie was flying normally while the others were in planes so the decision of kazooie driving a plane was ultimately decided

“Bottles is broken” What does this mean specifically? Is he by far the fastest character, much like Ludwig or T.T. from Rare’s two other racing games?
Bottles has max stats, making him the best character in this game. Cranky Kong originally had these stats in Diddy Kong Pilot.
I have an idea maybe rare or whatever they’re called now should make a sequel/remastered of this game that is more focused on the plane mechanic. They could add new characters, modes, tracks, and some customizations options possibly they could add some yookalaylee charcuterie mmm

Hey please anyone give me your opinion on this,as some of you may know rare games team changed they are not the same people,so for the past 10 years Microsoft and rare games is ignoring this classic franchise(banjo-kazooie)and I was thinking why doesn’t Nintendo buy the IP of banjo kazooie from Microsoft or rare games,it will do justice for the franchise and Nintendo is obviously going to make new games of the franchise and it will sell incredibly well,so I want your guys thoughts on this

They should have either worked on the 3D build or focused on cars and hovercrafts instead if not abandon the planes altogether. The flying adds nothing but adds far more gameplay downsides as well as just head scratching game design. To get a good flying racing game on this engine would’ve taken way more work than what appeared.

I still feel like this is the weakest Banjo game in the series.
The game looks horrendously boring.
Rare's misshandling of the Banjo IP is one of the greatest travesties of the gaming industry. They had a beloved and popular mascot with a fleshed out universe and tons of fun characters that could have been expanded into a large variety of games. Banjo Pilot is proof of that. Give the concept another crack on a 3D engine and you easily make a fun Plane Racer that's a good successort to Diddy Kong Racing and a good alternative to Mario Kart. Several decades now, and they've done absolutely NOTHING with the IP. It's idiotic.
Where's the 2D Banjo sidescrollers that inherit the legacy of DKC? Where's Banjo Kazooie RPG? Where's Banjo Party? The multiplayer in B-T proved you could do a lot with that. And ofc, there's the mainline Banjo-Threeie that never got made. I'm sure the backlash to Nuts and Bolts wouldn't have been as scathing if Banjo hadn't gone missing for over a decade. Hell, I'm sure way more people would care about Sea of Thieves if it'd had been a BANJO game. Who already HAS A PIRATE. To this day, I'll never understand why Rare just up and burried the character after then N64. Banjo Pilot and GR are moreso stuff that was already in the pipeline. And Nuts and Bolts felt more like a reluctant return to the character.
