Excellent tip. Ive always just stuck my pvc pole through the eye on the anchor trolley which has worked fine....but this is a much much better and safer way of doing it. Thanks!
Good info! I’m looking at being able to set something similar to my small skiff for shallow water, duck ponds and such, even maybe small canals. I was looking at some other configuration, but can’t see spending the hundreds of dollars they want for a contraption to slide down a pole to anchor, when something like this takes such little effort!
@@SRadigFishing yeah, I had been planning on setting something up for shallow water issues, plus I was considering getting a kayak for some time. I had been buying certain items when I would find them on sale, so I’ve acquired several items to go with a kayak setup, but I came across a 14’ skiff with a Johnson 40hp on it for half the price. Same principle but easier access to areas, plus the motor helps in a huge way. I’m not entirely sure how to launch where you are, but would love to come down with the skiff instead of just bank fishing that area.
@@blackmouthcur6097 You can launch a boat at the same spot very easy. I have seen Oil Mop launch twin engine 30 foot boats there. You just have to stay to the left side going out to Bay Lanaux.
@@SRadigFishing thanks, that’s good to know, to the left, launch to the left. I’ve seen boats back down in that area. But I also know you said something about a bolder around there as well. My boat is small, if I remember correctly, that area is a gradual slope backdown.
This is excellent. Exactly the info that is needed to do safely. Thank you so much.
By far the best explanation and demonstration on the proper way to anchor a kayak. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks much. Can't wait to try this out, I hate anchoring!
such a great video, thx for sharing this, so helpful for us new kayakers
Nice system for sure. It is just hard to find those fiberglass poles these days.
I found the two I have where the power company did repairs and just left the trash.Their trash is my treasure. Thanks for watching.

You don't even have to have or buy a shackle you can just tie a quick release knot instead.

Great video, this is a game changer, for me at least!
Great tip…thanks
Man dat is another good tip, watching you in dat yak makes a guy want to get one lol, you sure do make dat yaking look too easy, fish on 👍🏼👊🏼
That's some good tips there paw paw!
I do that with my anchor pole and my claw anchor. I use a float on my anchor lines in case I have to release quickly, the rope is going to float.
Great tips 👍
Two thumbs up!
