I love how this breeder sees the potential where it lays. Repeated positive experiences with humans during this short window of condensed learning and personality forging is bound to bear long-term fruit in any animal, even reptiles!
Awesome video. I’m in love with Kevina. Take her out every day and she is just as mellow as ever, I don’t know what kind of magic Kevin is doing up at NERD but this is just amazing.
He's one of the most experienced and thoughtful people around. I remember NERD from before there was an internet (I grew up in the 80's) and they always had the reputation of top quality care and knowledge of reptiles. I would argue that this is what Kevin deserves rather than subs, however I admit that I am subscribed, too.
I watch NERD and you all the time...i can say Kevin is one of the bests if not the best out there for his work...very nice animals dude, hope you enjoy them...keep up the good work!!
For those who are new to the reptile hobby ,,, seeing a BABY monitor lizard this calm is mind blowing ... can tell nerd puts in a lot of time with these animals
Approximately 2 weeks ago I watched Kevin's video on water monitor babies and how to care for them, it was fascinating. Thought of someone here in TH-cam who got a water monitor like Kavina from Kevin which was also very docile, unfortunately this person decided while it was still a baby to take it out of its small glass display to place it in a really large cage, (a human could sleep and almost stand in it) completely freaked the little guy out. Sadly this is still the case several months later. Happy to hear you watch Kevin's videos and I'm sure you will be taking very good care of this little black dragon, Congratulations.
@@KINOVAReptiles We totally did. It looked awesome. Kevin and his team are first rate when it comes to socializing the most misunderstood animals. Thanks again
I love that your friend named his water monitor Kevina, after her human daddy. His socialization work, starting at hatching makes all the difference. They’re curious rather than frightened.
They're so precious Justin, I can't wait to find out what you name yours, and to see the awesome enclosure's you'll have for your lil baby over the years! 😊
So rad to be in a position to have some of the awesome pets you get to keep. Probably feels very special since you have so many ball pythons and with so many you Probably don't get to just appreciate each one like having the Bowlens and now the black dragon. I want to see your super dwarfs sometime.
just beautiful some of the best looking i have watched i wish i could afford to get another rep right now they are just amazing and the fact there socialised before you send them out shows how much you love your reps
Wow!!! Seriously where else on earth can you get such a socialized baby dragon who's accepting of chin rubs and humans in general even after a terrifying transport. What gorgeous little dinosaurs!!! Congratulations!!!! 🦖 🥳 🙏 👌 🐉 💯 🤗
if u want a mini version of this check out beccaris. black tree monitor. hes in the group with the prasinus, macreis and reisingeris. they get a bit bigger than yours now but nowhere neat adult water monitor size
Definitely worth the hype, I have a few friends who have black dragons and they are simply amazing. Definitely not a impulse animal to buy cause these guys indeed do need the space as they will become massive and they have power they can trash up a enclosure in minutes 😂 so a small fort would be awesome also so intelligent if they figure out something be sure to know that they will never forget it again. And they have time to kill every day so they have time to figure things out lol. I myself have some tree monitors and they are also very intelligent and realy enjoy the enrichment of interacting with humans. When they see me they do want my attention 😁 You’re friends name for his is awesome though Kevina 😂 Got a name for yours yet ?
@@KINOVAReptiles im sure that in you’re new facility you will have plenty of space, Blue is gonna be a happy monitor for sure 😁 Can’t wait to see more videos of her and to see her progress. Enjoy her 😁
Honestly, my only concern, whether it is a snake or lizard, is when they are behind my back. Simply because I can't see they're behavior when they are in position. As a slightly side note, all of the animals that I interact with are not MINE so I tend to be even more aware of the animal because I'm not familiar enough with them to be able to anticipate how they will react. That's not to say that I "Freak" when I can't see them. My movements, whether I can see them or not, are always the same, calm, cool, and deliberate. This way I do not inadvertently appear to be a prey item to them. I think you did a hell of a job of maintaining "Nothing is sacred" whilst also maintaining a comfort level for the animals. I came here from Kevin's video and I have to say that I am very impressed and will definitely check out more.
Hello, I am impressed by your snakes, where I live in Mexico if there are some nominal ones like for 100 dollars, but I am impressed with your hatchery, I hope you just put subtitles by the way I met you through Miguel's videos👍👍
Nice man!! i adore these lizards but I just simply don't have the space D: When I get my own house though ;) Give some time to learn about these gorgeous things so probably a good thing! :P
Uh oh, Chaise was replaced as your mascot 😂 I hope to see future videos where shes just chillin in your shoulders while you're going on about your amazing balls lol

Such cool animals. They are both beautiful, but I have to agree the Black Dragon is Primo! So, hype is evidently well deserved.

Life is never the same when you take on a large lizard. Dynamic shift 100%
If you like the smaller monitors get yourself a Varanus tristis or a Varanus glauerti
Super rad monitors congrats

How do they get oxygen if they’re inside a box ?
The box isn't airtight!
If you want a monitor that stays thay size get an ackie!
How much were these ?
Let's just say they are not cheap
$3,500 on NERD's website.

how big will they get at adulthood?
