I tell people you must care about this, even if you don’t keep/breed/sell any reptile. That’s where it starts, it’s so much bigger then that. Love the content Justin. You’ve always been kind, replied to me in comments or privately. Love n respect what you do and who you are
She is CUTE!! Y'all did a phenomenal job on the video! Stephen and I definitely appreciate the love and support; we had so much fun developing and working on this build too!
I love how she totally trusts you and isn't flinching or anything when your hand is in there with her. I guess it's due to you doing exactly what Kevin told you to do in order to socialize her and obviously it works. You have to put time, work and effort into such a animal, you can't just grab it out the bag and scare it. Let it come to you, do socializing techniques which it's used to from Kevin and his crew, so it knows that even though you're a new smell, you're doing what it's used to and that's comforting to the animal. You probably spend a lot of calm time hanging out with her too right? It looks like you do and good on you, she's beautiful, chill andoves being around and on you ❤
Exactly! You can see the trust while she's exploring. Even though she's in thinking mode she kept coming back to "dad" for encouragement and safety, until she got more comfortable with her surroundings.
@@singingwolf3929 Yup truly adorable and if you want to have a great successful bonding experience with monitors from Kevin then you need to do exactly what he tells you to do from jump. If you don't do those steps and just put them outside or in a cage without the right interactions every day then you'll reverse and lose a lot of bonding time with these animals. Some ppl say they don't want to force anything on the monitors and wait til they're comfortable enough to come to you on their own as they get older, but it's counterproductive in my eyes, cause it's been socialized ever since it's been born and you get it like that, so just continue with the same bonding process from the start and you'll end up with a AMAZING monitor who'll love, respect and come to you.
Nice setup, and I noticed your moniker placed nicely on the lower right. Was wondering if you have named her yet, let us know when you do. Thanks for the upload, see you Friday.
Amazing setup! Hope you're enjoying the monitor slave life lol Definitely one of my favorite species! Will have to look into Focus cubed for some of our other reptile species.
From Kevin at NERD I know all that tongue flipping shows soe’s interest and exploring, not frightened. Socialization nag them makes all the difference, and Kevin gave her a fine start. She likes her new home! (No offense, but she has a lot more personality than your beautiful ball pythons.)
So I just thought about something, reptiles save lives. That antivenin used to treat snake bites that don’t always happen in captivity or the moccasin venom proteins used to fight breast cancer in women, what good are these life saving technologies if no one is able to uphold the production. And when the Black Plague was a big thing, domestic cats were the main cause of the spread. Sure reptiles can and have spred salmonella but many animal related deaths or illnesses come from mammals.
This is wonderful and YOU ARE WONDERFUL! USARK is our only warrior and the future of our industry is at stake!!! Enjoying our talks!!!!! K
