All valid points. I think Bryan Mann’s points in his book on Velocity Based training highlight that it’s not necessarily about the specific lifts, it is about the intent/the goal and if how the lift is performed is actually truly working towards that goal (in terms of specificity)

I feel like the number one reason is mostly applicable to more advanced athletes. If, you're only cleaning 100lbs. The warm up isn't anything crazy and long as you're technically sound

In that case, warming up IS the workout

Since I started Olympic Lifts I am in the best shape of my life. Low reps and high sets..and once in awhile high rep P.R.'S

What is your opinion on Landmine University style training? Seems way more accesible technically wise.

Do you think loaded jumps are dangerous for trainees over 40 or 50?

I don’t think so if it’s approximately dosed and loaded

You mentioned athletes being able to clean 180kg being sufficiently proficient. What weight are you assuming this athlete is?
    I’m 84kg body weight with a 130kg clean

45-60 minutes is a long time tho no? I mean I do like 3 sets of cleans or snatch for like 25 min ish

    Is snatch better than cleans?

Both good. Just used snatch as an example for the video.

Olympic lifts, regardless of proficiency, do not transfer to sports like wrestling, grappling or bjj, football, even sprinting, the way that good solid weight training with basic exercises does. I have seen this in my own efforts and many of those that I have trained over several decades.
