Perfect. Very clear, only the good information. I hope you're giving some lessons because your students are lucky to get someone that clear in an explanation. I'm lookin at every single of your videos, cause i'm comin from tennis and they're a gold mine to me :)
Many thanks! There are only 10 courts in Russia and only one trainer in Moscow. So you are my only real-and-online trainer) Good luck and more videos please)
Dimok Kuznec happy to help!!! Every country started like that and I’m sure within a few years you’ll have hundreds! Any questions, please let me know 👍
I've watched this video multiple times because i feel footwork is so important to the game. You don't emphasise this in the video, but you do show the following: In tennis you pivot towards the ball, where in padel you pivot towards the glass. That's really something i still need to work on.
Love your videos, i would like a video about the smash. Not the technique but more how to think about it, where to aim in different situations (middle of court or fence or corner), when to go for the kill and why. That type of stuff would be great 👍🏻
Great tips. I have always been at the net with straight legs😮 Do i also need to bend with the knees at the net? In vibora you have to stay lower, but does it also make sense when i hit volley at the net? Does the ball bounce less in that way?
Anne Bell thank you 🙏 fitness is a difficult topic to cover in one video, so I’m trying to put together a course for it. But I’ll also film some tutorials for the movement patterns. Hopefully I’ll have some out next month 👍
Hi Sandy, I played tennis many years ago and Last July I started in padel. I trained two times per week, and I'm progressing a lot. However, I need to improve my footwork because I'm still late for some balls and I end up being in a bad position. I was curious about the fitness and training you mentioned at the end of this video. It's already available. I've been following your work, and I learn a lot from your videos. Thanks for the content
Love the explanation about why experienced players makes it looks so much easier and the way you emphasizes the part of doing alot of small steps while learning vs. trying to mimic how the pros move. Since Ive never had coaching sessions in either tennis or badminton (Im at a low recreational level) the only times Ive heard about split step is in youtube-tutorials and I find that I can remember it when hitting the first 2-3 balls, but then I start forgetting about it leading to more clumsy and slow movement. Do you have any extra tips on how to really "drill" this into my mind?
Kimball glad you liked the video! Yes, the split-step is absolutely crucial and something tennis/badminton players with training doing subconsciously. A bit like a goalkeeper for a penalty, you need to consider each ball a reaction. The best way to train it is to constantly remind yourself and try your hardest not to copy your opponent (who probably is also not doing it!). Almost use the sound of your opponent contacting the ball as a starting gun for you to move into position...(hope that helps)
@@ThePadelSchool Ill try to incorporating using the sound of the opponents ball-contact as a reminder, good pointer, thanks! Keep up the fantastic work. its super appreciated!

Hi Sandy. Thnx for the video. Looking forward to a program with exercises for footwork. Grtz from Belgium

I think the main difference from tennis is that you need smaller steps and you continue this right up to contact (which might mean after the glass)...
Awesome video! Thank you a lot for your tips🤩🙏
Very welcome!!

Jiki Barko thanks for the support! That’s a big topic and definitely one that needs addressing! I’ll make some videos about that 👍
Great video, thanks for sharing your knowledge
Felipe Donoso thank you for supporting! 🙏

Great vid as usual Sandy
Nils Wigardt thank you!!!
Loving your videos on coaching, ive picked up quite a few brilliant pointers. Cheers Sandy.
pro tip: watch series on Flixzone. I've been using it for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Collin Joey definitely, been watching on flixzone} for months myself :D
Really helpful, thank you. When do you think the fitness video will be ready?

That's really helpful! Thanks for a great advice! Greetings from Poland 😘
You're so welcome! Happy padel in Poland!
Great! For me the hardest thing to understand. Never did this in tennis as well...
...and one of the most important things about the game!
@@ThePadelSchool I fully agree with that. Trying to understand this and make me automatically apply this in-game.
Hi,
Thanks for really good videos.
I noticed that the ball bounces twice on the upper side of the cage at 5:00. Is this allowed or is the point lost?
Gustav Svan yes, on your side of the court it can bounce on multiple fences, multiple times.
The Padel School Thanks!
Oh, that’s news for me :)
Hos about the lamp and the lamppost?
Gustav Svan If it hits the lamp or lamppost that’s point to the person who smashed (even if it bounces inside the court again).
