I think I’ve seen at least 3 other videos of RTI sending the wrong rifle(s) to people. They must have some issues with their inventory control process or something.
They are understaffed and overwhelmed by orders. they sent me the wrong mauser. They were very apologetic, sent it back, and sent me a much better gun than I originally bought. I will probably review it on my other gun channel.
@@georgesheffield1580 They say nothing as long as your FFL sends it back before you fill out a 4473. I myself have my C&R so the guns come to my door. In my case I boxed it back up and shipped it back and they sent me the right one to my door. If you don't have your C&R you can tell your FFL to send it back it's not what you bought and you don't have to fill out paperwork.
I bought a pair of Enfield No. 1 Mk. 4 "C" grade, when they were on sale hoping to put one good one together. That worked out. But my last purchase on a Veterlli barrel and action, the receiver was cracked and useless. No more RTI guns for me. Good luck with those guys. They are not like a box of Chocolates. You pretty much know they are an extreme gamble.
I received a Mauser from them that was a complete ball of rust and the stock was burned in several places. They eventually replaced it with gun with a decent stock but a complete roaches out bore that looked like an old stove pipe. All of their guns are junk
I’ve ordered 5-6 from them and parts kits, I never had any major issues, had part kits missing pieces before, they sent them, may have taken 18 emails, 3 phone calls and literally 3 months, but I got them lol. At this point , they are what they are. Nothing will change until people stop buying.. great videos!
Absolutely return it. The cav carbines in 7.35 are by far much rarer and harder to find than the m38 short rifles. If you paid for a M38 cav carbine in 7.35, make sure you get a m38 cav carbine in 7.35.
Sure, they are indeed much rarer, they are probably the rarest of all Carcanos. But if they had sent the short rifle with its so rare folding bayonet, I surely wouldn't have said anything !
I've done business with RTI for 25 years. But make no mistakes, B & C condition rifles are essentially wall hangers by 1990s standards. Too rough to even sell for parts.
The rifle is extremely interesting anyway. The double date means the barrel comes form a M1891 long rifle, that had been shortened and rebored, and whose original polygonal terminal part had been lathed to make it round. That possibility was all the sense of the 7.35 caliber (7.35 is the smallest caliber you can rebore and re-rifle a worn out 6.5 barrel), but not all the 7.35 barrels where rebored old ones, and in a minority of them the old markings are still clearly visible.
I ordered a B grade 98k Mauser Ethiopian contract with 50 dollar hand select for memorial day weekend sale. They sent me a B grade with no bolt. I have rolled the dice about 10 times and this was the first set back. I called and they apologized. They are understaffed and overwhelmed by orders not to mention they are moving to a bigger warehouse so they are in process of moving all their stuff. they told me to send it back and sent me a return label, and sent me a much better gun than I originally bought. It was a B grade with hand select but the rifling was sharp, deep lands and grooves. I will probably review it on my other gun channel.
It wasn't very good. I've sent it back and they are supposed to be sending me the correct one I ordered. Hopefully they pick out a good one for my trouble.
I actually got a job at RTI a few months back. No longer there, sustained a significant non work related injury By a huge margin, the shipping department got the short end of the stick for manpower. They are working HARD and have to process sometimes hundreds of rifles a day. I absolutely understand why they make mistakes there. The grades seem to be based less on looks and more on functionality. I think. They didnt have any real clarifications on that. And the warehouse is very disorganized just due to the masses of guns there. That said, FANTASTIC people. Uli is a strong leader and does what he can with what he has. English isnt always his strong suit. The people there have a massive appreciation and respect for the firearms they go through. So many things had blood rust and bullet holes. We had the mindset of the cashe being more like a war grave than 'old guns' because these rifles, and who carried them, saw unimaginable hardships
It’s cool to hear from someone who was on the inside…. I’ve had almost nothing but good experiences with RTI Only bad one was when they lost a rifle I ordered….. I don’t really understand how it happened because it was an individual listing…. They didn’t really understand either…. It was a 1909 dated Budapest Mannlicher m95 long rifle That was Bulgarian contract Had the lion of Judah on the barrel shank And a cross made from Italian hobb Nails in the stock…. Rifle was 100% complete with a great bore…… Somebody, somewhere got a happy surprise… I got refunded. Wound up buying a b grade on sale for $150 made a note just asking for a decent handguard and as much of the hardware to be there as possible I received a 99.9% complete Steyr with a good bore and good handgaurd only missing the sight slider as they stated. So for $150 a got a perfectly usable Steyr m95 long rifle in 8x50
I met the brothers 25 years ago. Shopped with them ever since. Uli is a good guy. My real complaint is that they don't use the NRA rating system everyone else uses. I know why. B grade sounds better than fair condition. And C grade sounds better than poor condition. But that's what they equate to.
That does make a lot of sense, I'm not surprised mistakes like that can be made. I've sent it back and they are supposed to be sending out a replacement, so I hope they pick a good one for my trouble!
I've bought 2 rifles, both B grade antiques, and... I probably have 2 wall hangers or maybe prop guns. They looked OK, and they were supposed to have "good" bores, but the chambers are so rusted I may not be able to every safely shoot them. Oh well, is what it is.
Have had ok luck until I bought a MAS 49/56. The inside of the barrel was horrible. I contacted them and told me to run a stainless brush through it. Tore the brush up. Contacted them again and got no response, I'm done.
I bought 6 different Carcano's back in the day, for $20.00 each. They were all in NRA Excellent condition. Honest (I had to walk up hill both ways to pick them up) 👍😉
It may look like it was pulled out of an elephants backside but as long as the bore is good it should clean up nice, because it would be worth it,however it's not what you ordered send it back
When are people finally going to learn to stop buying from Royal Tiger? Bad customer service and absolute junk for rifles. Congratulations on your new boat anchor.
I've rolled the dice about 10 times and came up great every time. Last gun was a few weeks ago and sent the wrong gun. The girl on the phone was very apologetic sent me a return label and 3 weeks later I got a Better K98 then I probably should have. You just have to understand what you are getting and sometimes have common gun skills to clean it up and make a decent shooter.
I remember those in Shotgun news you could buy 2 for $99 that looked a thousand times better. I have shot them but they aren't great rifles. Are you going to shoot it? Good luck is you do. I honestly don't see why people buy Cacanos because they will never be worth anything unless its in mint unfired condition.
Bought one b grade. Listed w bolt etc. arrived the worst wrapped ever box 12 inches bigger than gun. Flopped all over the box. No bolt. Pure excrement. Had to ship it back at my expense. Then had to call and get the credit card reversed. The clerk said they were over run with returns and could not keep up. Never again. That b grade was not even usable as a wall hanger. .
KNS Looks like most of the C grade rifles need to go to BOBS, APEX OR NUMRICH parts companies and save another restorable one. Wouldn't waste my money on one.
Jesus. Did they dig that up off of an old battlefield and ship it then and there? That's D grade at best. Before even getting to the fact it is the wrong rifle.
I've heard nothing good about the quality of stuff they sell, but being just rebranded interordinance makes sense why they sell wall hangers. For C&R, I stick with classicarms, aimsurplus, and JG sales.
Probably sent the wrong one on purpose, they'll hang on to your money, put it in their bank account, then eventually send you the bullet launcher you ordered. This is an old ploy, I used to work with a guy that was in the shoe selling business, this is one of their tricks.
I think it was a miss print on the website. Only because hinging a Calvert carbine in 7.5 is extremely rare. I think they sent you what they ment. They are a complete shit show these days. I pretty sure that the best of what they had is gone and it’s going to be down hill (as if things could be worst) from here out.
For your sake I hope they do. It would be a great addition to your collection. Been going threw hell on a No1 Mk3 Enfield. Suppose to be a B grade boltless rifle. Well it’s boltless. I think this last batch kinda sucks.
They sent the "wrong" rifle... given the rarity of the M38 Carcano cavalry carbine, I'm not sure it was a mistake. A pity the gun you received wasn't fitted with is extremely rare folding bayonet. Believe me, if I had ordered a M38 Carcano cavalry carbine and got an ordinary M38 carbine with its bayonet, I wouldn't have said anything, as this bayonet is almost as expensive as the rifle !
I think I’ve seen at least 3 other videos of RTI sending the wrong rifle(s) to people. They must have some issues with their inventory control process or something.

What does the FEDS say about this , do the numbers match ?

It wasn't very good. I've sent it back and they are supposed to be sending me the correct one I ordered. Hopefully they pick out a good one for my trouble.
Royal Tiger do give TH-camrs plenty of fun and games.
Keep us posted.
I've sent it back and they are supposed to send the correct rifle. I'll make a new video once I receive it.
m38 is worth more depending on condition
