Purchasing from RTI is a gamble, no question about it. I too have purchased from RTI, and I managed a 50/50 break even acquisition, on a two gun purchase. The second time, I received a damaged build action. And the third purchase is in the mail. I didn't learn my lesson, when I broke even on the first purchase. I should have severed my relationship, but I purchased again. Gambling is an addiction.
@@GearyGunderson It's the allure of the possibilities. The spin of the roulette wheel. And when you receive that package in the mail, you tear into it like a kid at Christmas. When the wrapping is removed, and you look down with bated breath only to find, you did not get that Red Rider Action Carbine with a compass in the stock. Instead, it's the Pink bunny suit sent by Aunt Clara.
I picked up a Enfield with no bolt from them that was a B grade. Well, it wasn’t. It was most certainly a C grade. I sent them picks, they sent me a shipping label. A couple of weeks later a new to me rifle. Still rough, but better. I’m waiting on a front and rear hand guard from Liberty Tree. I also picked up a magazine, magazine disconnect, safety, brass medallion for the butt stock. Still need to do a heal repair, and put another brass butt plate (that I have already) back on. What was suppose to be a bargain wasn’t. So you did pretty good on this one. I think all their Enfield’s were ran hard and put away wet. I’m waiting on a Jungle Carbine and I’ll let ya know how that one turns out. After seeing your Carcano I might just pick one up if they’re still around.
I ordered an Enfield as well and will have the video up within a week or two. I ordered one with the bolt, but depending on how cleaning goes, I may have to replace it. It was by far the worst part on the rifle.
I've been very lucky with RTI. When I have had an issue their customer service has been great. Most of the bores have been much better than described. The one that was not was at least as described.
Came across your video and I also been noticing a lot of people posting RTI gun videos and unboxing. Honest question. Why are people so happy with these RTI imports? This is called a B grade ? These are Borderline wall hangers/parts gun. If people who buy RTI guns are like wow look at my rusted, practically shot out C And B grade gun it looks good i guess my collection would be considered museum quality. These RTI imports are good to buy for parts that's it.
I think it really depends on the firearm people get and the collector. For some people, they may not ever realistically be able to purchase some of these examples at what the market rates have been. I've definitely been disappointed with some of the rifles I have received from RTI, but I mostly receive about what I expect. It can be a fun project to try and clean up/restore these firearms too. I do think if you're looking for really nice collector pieces, then these batches from RTI are not the way to go and you're better off selecting a specific example where you know exactly what you are getting. Some of the interest for me personally is also the history, I've received rifles that are marked AOI for Italian use in Africa and others with Ethiopian writing carved into them, which I think is cool.

It really is a part of it, and sometimes I see people get a good one online and it makes me want to try again.

Really a OK B grade and they solved it in a timely manner. THANKS for showing Geary and Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas! Thanks for watching.
Supposedly when Oswald ordered his they sent him the wrong one to
I'm glad that got straightened out.
Me too! I was surprised it was relatively simple.

I got a Bgrade M38 carbine that turned out to have a loose barrel, I sent it back and am waiting for a replacement
i had to send a lee enfield back cause it was so rusty and un serviceable condition and it took a month to get the replacement

Agreed
The Ethiopian rifles are mostly NRA Fair to Poor condition. Definitely wall hangers.

I read and heard enough stories about Royal Tiger that I would never waste my time and money. Not worth the risk.
Not surprised RTI hates the community
Not crispy enough for this hombre 😂 cool history though.
By 1990 standards, these Ethiopian rifles are wall hangers. Sorry you guys are stuck with this junk.
