    • @100pyatt

(12v single shot tune) It lowers fuel mileage from less efficient combustion. Multiple injection events at post throttle is also much smoother cylinder pressures for internal components life.

Ok so I'd need a efi live tuner a egt probe and I'd have to fab up some piping from turbo to turbo and intercooler. Plus mod a down pipe. To fit. But may be exactly what I'm looking for from a economy performance increase and less than the double power package plus I'd not have Todo engine work till it's needed at 400 k

It really depends on how long you sustain a certain egt. You could hit 1400 on a dyno for a few seconds, I try not to exceed 1100 personally on a long tow up a hill. I know guys that hit 1200 on a regular basis towing, but I'm not that brave.

    • @davidmoore5021
      @davidmoore5021 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Aluminum will melt at 1200. A quick spike you can get by, but long pull you get to build a new motor. I know there’s guys who make bs climes of higher temps [their “high “ alright] but google the melting point of aluminum.

Mine are 1" from the exhaust port. I'd never recommend taking a sample temp after the turbo because the temp could be far more than 200 degrees depending on drive pressure and turbo size. I also use a egt on every cylinder port, I find it good insurance on these common rail engines.

So keep the stock turbo with an upgraded 3rd gen manifold? Can you keep the factory Jacobs exhaust brake?

6.0s don’t have factory compounds. 6.4s do but putting those on anything other than a 6.4 would be stupid and would be impossible because of the way they are made and wouldn’t work on an i6

That's not a cheap turbo plus the piping and clamps/hardware new down pipe will probably all be included knowing these guys so it won't be cheap but will be high quality.

Why are you dynoing these heavy loads at 80 mph not realistic simulation
Living in California speed limit while towing is 55 mph
with 3:73 gears puts my truck about 1750 rpm
Even at 70 mph i am at 2000 rpm
Where can you tow at 80 mph
Even the major manufactures build to real world speed getting peak torque at road speed
37 years heavy duty mechanic Factory trained Peterbilt Motor company Mack Trucks Freightliner Trucks Cummins Catipiller Detroit Diesel Mercedes Benz
    Tec

I love this comment. Guy has no clue that the other 49 States in the country have different speed limits but feels the need to type he's been a mechanic for 37 years and drop a bunch of automotive names, as if that justifies the claim that "dynoing these heavy loads at 80 mph (is) not (a) realistic simulation".
I need about 9 more arms for the proper face-palm.

Please do a test at 60-65 mph.
I would like to see what the egt's would look like at 60-65 mph when the rpm's are at or below 2000.
I imagine the egt's would be higher.
      Thanks for the videos.
