I got the green dial OP 41mm and I’m in love with it. My AD was telling me that I’m one of the lucky ones to receive it before it maybe gets discontinued next year.
Bristol goldsmith in Cabot circus is my AD to… and they are the nicest bunch of people I’ve ever met in a “Large” watch dealership. Never to busy for a chat and always friendly and warming. I’m on the waiting list for the 41 OP celebration. Fingers crossed we both get one 😀
Went into a Bucherer owned Rolex store, and enquired about a Puzzle watch. The salesman was SO useless, didn't know anything about it, struggled to find it, and then was just rude and very very unpleasant when he has established what we wanted. I have connections at the ADs, but made sure I didn't use any of my data that would trigger "over assistance". Why oh why would anyone put themselves through this. You're a customer wishing to spend £40K, and they're just unpleasant.
Love it, best of the op41s in my opinion, fills the quite large dial better than the others managed to with the single colour. Soooo glad that you said submariner and not sub no date!! Enjoy the watch, I’m sure you can pull that 41 off too and seeing as he paid retail he might not be as bothered if you wear it 😂
Britt , we are close to Christmas. Get your husband to release the budget and order the watch. As you said you have very good relationship with your local AD , he will get it for you. Life can be short , so make yourself happy. This piece will always keep the value and is no so mainstream compared to most Rolex models. 😊😊😊🇩🇪
The 5 fazes of the OP Celibration. 1. This has to be a joke. 2. WTF they actually did it. 3. I kinda like it? 4. Ok I like it 5. I need this in my life. 😊
your AD knows that this would be (and I think your first truly matching) couple's watch riight?:D just thought that would be soo sweet and your AD SHOULD support this venture!:D
Congrats on the purchase. Beautiful dial. I hope you got the white hangtag with it. Now let’s figure it out why there are 51 circular cells. Is this has something to do with the year of 1951 or something else 🤔
2 thoughts: your husband is a sailor in the RN and this is his watch? I hope he wears this in uniform because that’s a flex of a different kind. Second, are you fully prepared to be the couple with matching OP bubble watches? Because that’s a bold choice. Love the video. Increase the awesome. Decrease the suck.
My AD says the same thing about how hard this watch is to make. He only says this when I tell him I want one as a way to say, no Steven, you haven't spent enough to get on this wait list 😭
Ahh I'm glad to hear more confirmation on this! But you know, I'm worried about my name on the list for this one. :( I don't think I'll get the call - I don't have the same purchase history as James. But, I guess you never win the lottery if you never buy a ticket?! hehe!
Most of my watches are pretty dark and monotone. I am getting into more colours recently. I'd definitely rock a Celebration dial if I could ever get my hands on one.
Congrats to James on obtaining a difficult to get OP at retail. Most definitely collectible. My favorite watch is my 36mm OP green dial. It is perfect in every respect (for me). Cheers!
Agree about the OP being a great GADA watch. I have the silver dial and It’s easily my most worn watch. From the beach to the ballroom so to speak. That celebration dial is less versatile, but it will be a collector’s item years down the line.
Have you spotted the "odd one out" on the dial yet? At first it seems that none of the circles touch another circle of the same colour, until you look closely at the orange circles between the centre and the three o'clock... (check out the close-up at 3:06 )
I am very jealous but stoked for you guys! I’m hoping to get the green 41 soon plus I have been asking my AD for the Starbucks. I’m sincerely hoping that next year will be my Daytona year so I can’t really ask for this one albeit I freaking love it! Enjoy! I must also say that I REALLY hope they bring the OP back in a 39 or even 38. The 41 wears a little big. I have the silver dial and it does not look as good as the 41 Datejust (current) with the thicker bezel. The OP needs to be 39m !
I think the watch is 👍 GREAT cause Rolex is a brand known for making classic watches which are not that poppy and colourful but this one is a unique one. The coloured dial on this one just looks so 👍 GOOD and INTERESTING! The other reason that makes this watch great is the background Tiffany Blue colour! 😅Thanks for the video GRINGA!
Great watch! When I saw it in person I thought it looked like the indices are floating above the dial! Off topic question; did your husband get you into watches or did you already like them?
My AD straight up told me that some potential clients give him gifts like expensive wine and they’re enjoying their watches now. Turned me off of not just that AD, but Rolex entirely.
Don't mind the dial personally, but Rolex OP case architecture does not translate above 36mm. There is always something "off" looking with these larger sized OP cased watches.
Very cool watch, although I like the jigsaw puzzle a bit more. Definitely a statement piece that would/will spur discussions with watch enthusiasts and muggles alike. However the key thing I took away is that James has a purchase history with Goldsmiths dating to 1998 - which basically explains everything. 😂
This video made me 😂 And yes, this might be an unrolex kind of watch but because of that I want it!!!! It’s different and quirky and colorful. You need it Britt !!!! YOU NEED IT…. And your AD should grant you this watch 😉 And if not…. James should give his one to you 🤪 Cheers Britt, enjoy the weekend 🎉 🍺
BAHAHA! Ahhh I’m so glad you enjoyed!!! I tried so hard to capture the spirit of the celebration in this one! 🤣🎉 I GENUINELY DOOO NEED ONE OF THESE! It belongs with me!
Such a cool piece, and even the 41 looks great, good luck in getting one! **trigger warning, watch economics talk incoming ** I had a OP 41 back when you could get them around that 4-5k USD range and it was such a great introduction to Rolex and for many the “luxury” watch space. I traded a seamaster for the OP and was thrilled with the understated clean design, and was much more friendly on my 6.5” wrist. I love the playful nature of the new line and they are very compelling as a rare Rolex that allows self expression. With that said they are no longer in that entry category with prices being over 7k (and often higher on grey/2nd market 🤯), and I think that’s a shame and too high for what they are. I know it’s not the Rolex business model, but if they priced these appropriately (say, 5-5,400 for the 41) and increased supply, I think these would be incredibly successful and would fly off the shelves.
You are indeed correct - however, even though they won’t admit it openly - behind closed doors, Rolex loves that “not everyone can have a Rolex” and they want to keep up that image of exclusivity.. they don’t want to ever go back to the days of early 2010’s and before where it was as easy to get (most) Rolex models as it is now to go into an omega store and grab one
@@cecaju9516 it was about 10 years ago, they were retail around 5400 I believe, and ADs were selling them around 5, and secondhand you’d easily find them for 4000-4800 because they just weren’t popular. @@cecaju9516 technically yes you are correct. I believe the serial I had was considered the OP39 with the rhodium, but even the 41 is a 39mm case by actual measurement, so a very similar watch.
After @IDGuy pointed it out, I can't unsee that on the dial, the two orange circles near the 3-o'clock position are the only same-colored ones that touch each other! It's not ruined, per se, it's just an inconsistency!
I got the text from my AD on the Datejust 36 Palm Dial six months after picking up a Tudor for the wife. I passed and then regretted. A 1999 Sub fell into my lap a month later. That's how the game goes!

ID Guy pointed out a "mistake" on this dial. No colored "bubble" touches any other color except for the orange in one place. I thought that was interesting. And if your AD knows you have a TH-cam channel I have a feeling you'll get yours... It's good hype for them.
Still think the most Un-Rolexy Rolex is that day date that doesn't even tell you the day of the week
Love the celebration dial. Congratulations to your husband, I hope he wears it in great health...Fingers crossed you get yours soon!
My first reaction was:-
Smarties! On a Rolex?
Why!!!!!
I saw a McDonals cup recently with the same pattern as the dial.
LOLLL, you know... This only makes me want it more!

Lucky you and your hubby on getting this watch! Congratulations to Watch Papi.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Great Vid B! I actually prefer the 36mm myself. We shall be matching at some point🎉

Saw this at RedBar Leeds last week and it’s way better than I thought, the emoji “thing” though can get in the sea
This is an awesome release very artful and different .
Does anyone know if the jubilee bracelet from the date just 41 will fit the oyster perpetual 41mm?

I’m an massive fan of the OP, and I have to say the celebration dial suits you bigtime 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
I would love a bright dial OP, think they look great.
Curious on your thoughts on the TS AP 😉
It looks like a fun watch but I can't imagine any use case for it. Besides, my friends would laugh at 1) the watch and 2) spending that much on it.

Nah, throw all the boxes and papers and stuff away. No point keeping it, just takes up space.
I like this one and the puzzle dial DateJust very much.
You should do a side by side on the 31mm vs the 41mm if you come across it. It's small and playful, and much more subtle!
cool idea to use M&Ms in your shots :)
Ahh thank you so much! I tried soo hard to showcase this in the most fun way possible! Such a fun watch deserves fun, colourful backdrops!
