Extreme cruelty was exposed at a MS puppy mill where the "breeder" would sell puppies at flea markets. When the HSUS and authorities arrived at the woman's property, they found dogs suffering everything from broken bones to mange.

The person responsible for this needs a jail sentence. For every animal, two years in the joint, served consecutively. Her property should be turned over to the state, and her house burned as a training excercise for fireman/women. And of course,if he/she ever gets out of jail, she should be banned from owning animals for life.

I am sure people got preferences..if you like mutts,go adopt...I am sure unless there are that many one-breed shelters everywhere,you won't get a pure bred

It's Jowke These are not purebred dogs! It's a Yorkie and Maltese MIX!! By the way, there are rescues that have purebreds for people who have "preferences". So adopt so shop!

Human nature is the problem. You think without money every single person would help others out of the kindness of their hearts? There are lots of good people like the rescuers in this video, but all it takes is one greedy jerk to mess it up.

this makes me want to puke. I was one of the stupid people who bought one of the cute adorable puppies in a petstore window. Now, I love my dog, she is my angel, but I should have done more research. I should have seen the signs. When I brought my dog to the vet for the first time and mentioned the store where I got her from, my vet told me that all the mammals that he's seen from that store have ear mites, low and behold so did my dog. My dog also gave ear mites to my beloved pet ferret. A year later, I went into to the store and I looked at the ceiling. strings of mold were dangling over my head waiting to fall on me or into the glass pen where the puppies were kept. And when I saw a hermit crab that they were taking care of(I research hermit crabs in my spare time) it was sickening. Only a sponge to drink from, and a thin layer of gravel as substrate. there were no extra shells and he was kept in an open tubberware container. Thankfully, this is 4 years later and that horrid place is finally being shut down.

Yup, I think it was about 2 weeks(maybe more) before they shut down that you guys made a video that mentioned them. On their faceboook page, it says it wasn't because of your video but i think otherwise. You guys really did make a difference. I've seen the horrors in that store, I just hope that poor crab found someone who knows what they're doing. There is so much bad info out there that it's really easy to accidentally mistreat a crab.
Hey, I just thought of something. You guys have a lot of power in getting info out to animals lovers. Is there anyway that you could do something to spread the word about proper hermit crab care? I would be totally willing to help. I've been obsessed with them for the past 5 years. I can show you where to look for reliable information. I don't want money or anything, just to help. It breaks my heart to see the little guys suffering, especially when the owners are ignorant to anything they are doing wrong. If you can't that's okay.
Avbitten YES! I am an lover of hermit crabs and so many people think they are easy-peasy pets that don't need proper care. Makes me sick. Just because they can't show discomfort or sickness like a dog or cat doesn't mean they don't deserve to be treated right. I wish there was more information about proper hermit crab and reptile care or that people would DO THEIR RESEARCH before getting one of these creatures.

I live north of the fleamarket where this woman was selling dogs. It is still allowing dogs to be sold on the property. As long as they allow it, I will not be taking my business there.

Jowke, That is the entire point- people don't KNOW that dogs and cats came from such a place.
Buyers don't come to her house and see the miserable conditions, she takes the puppies to flea markets and sells them THERE, where there are no regulations and the buyer can't see where the puppy actually came from.
The take away message is: DON'T BUY A PET. Adopt one from a shelter.

I am not an activist but it surprises me how many disabled elderly women take to raising pets in conditions like these. My Aunt years ago became a back yard breeder out of necessity. Unlike these ladies she was no stranger to hard work. She raised her dogs and cats in a small town town for years. Her pen was her huge back yard. There were a few smaller cages that were always clean, In fact there was never any odor coming from her property. She never lost a pet to illness. The main difference between her and the modern day breeder was that she loved her animals. Now on top of all this she had a severely disabled child she took care of too. He could not even feed himself but she loved him as much as her other kids and took care of his physical needs until he died at 27 years old.. One more thing... She was a widow. her husband died young. When my Aunt got older she gave up her breeding operation. Even though she was advancing in years she started a small cafe downtown where she was popular for being an excellent cook. If I were ever to become a breeder myself I would not be happy unless I met or exceeded how she ran her business. If she could raise her pets to a high degree of quality there is no reason other breeders could not do it too,

There is no excuse for becoming a breeder for need. There are many other things she could have done rather than turn living animals into breeding factors for her to make money.

Man, this is so heartbreaking. I'm glad you guys point out that people need to see where their dogs come from. My dog came from a little family who were one-time breeders and showered their dog and her litter with love. She's now laying by me, wrapped in a blanket, making happy dreaming sounds. It's disgusting that anyone could do this to animals. All they want is to love us.

Who do you report puppy mills to? I think there is a puppy mill an hour where I live. There have 50 dogs just for breeding and that doesn't include the pups so there has to be over 200 dogs there. A lot of people told me it was horrible there

My boyfriend's mom told me that this man was selling puppies at the flea market she and my boyfriend normally go to and when she asked how old the puppies were, the owner said they were only a few weeks old. Since there is a law on how old a puppy can be in order for it to be adopted, her and her friend told those in charge of the flea market and the owner got kicked out. Thank you for saving these poor animals. The world needs more people like all of you.
I hope that the women who had all these poor animals that the condition they were found in is in prison .What she done to all those dogs is just beyond cruelty .thank God for the under cover at the flea market bless all of them for the rescue .We r their voice.that's why I am a member.

This is why I have never, and will never, pay money for a pet from anywhere but a recognized shelter or fostering agency. Any time there is a profit involved, and little or no regulation, there will be abuse. Sure there are some caring breeders, but why pay hundreds or thousands for a pure-bred? Pure-breds are almost always more prone to health issues than the mongrels at your local pound. Pure-beds also tend to have more socialization and behavioral problems, primarily because breeders breed for looks only, and ignore temperament. Every dog or cat I've had since childhood has been a stray, a rescue, or adopted from a shelter, and they have been the sweetest, most loving and wonderful pets in the world. Whereas the only times I've ever been bitten by dogs, it was always some highly-strung, beautiful looking but not quite sane pedigreed animal.

My parents have a friend who adopted a dog from an animal shelter who was a mother dog that came from a puppy mill like this. Her name is Jesse and she's a dachshund. She has tumors on her nipples now from overbreeding and living in horrid living conditions like this. Luckily she isn't in a lot of pain and she gets lots of love. Thank you for spreading awareness about the awfulness of puppy mills.

I work at a veterinary clinic. One of the receptionists announced she was getting a puppy from someone on the internet, and showed photos that everyone else oohed and aahed at. I started questioning her about what she knew about the breeder, and she immediatly became angry. She still barely talks to me today. But she got her puppy. It's so hard to spread the word about this problem when people who should know better continue to support puppy mills.

Every person I know who says "Don't but from a shelter, breeders are better!" I always argue and say "The dogs in shelters are cheaper, house broken, trained, and your saving its life! And then, they always think differently.
Keep speaking up!! Tough if she doesn't like it!! My own nephew was angry with me for the same thing. They met the woman somewhere to meet to the dog. This dog was about 5 months old, extremely shy and not socialized at all. Makes me wonder what's up with the person selling the pups.

Seeing this makes me glad that the dog running around in my house is from the shelter. My family is able to spare her the pain that these poor things in video have to endure. I hope that other families will be able to do the same.

Wanna know why? For once he got cleaned, given a new place, a toy, fresh water, comfort, love, maybe even some good food and veterinary care. Even if it was only for 12 hours.
Vids like this make me glad I adopted an abandoned dog. Mill's like this will shut down as long as you don't buy any puppies. Adopt or go to a reputable breeder where you can see what conditions the puppies are living in, make sure they are happy healthy pups that are allowed to be with their mother. My dog was 1 year old and was found abandoned by a highway, no chip or collar or anything, he is now 12 and I have never regretted it.
That woman should be jailed. No excuse for what she is doing. As an old person, I have no sympathy for old cows like her.
Seeing what these animals are forced to go through makes me even more proud of where I work. I work for a breeder of Xolos, and what I do is, depending on my shift, let them out of their creates, refill their water, ensure they have clean blankets and creates to come back to that night, feed them, and clean the pens for the puppies, moms, moms-to-be, and the older dogs. And at night I pick up all the poop, collect their empty food bowls, take the trash out, do dishes, then put the dogs in their creates for the night and bring their water dishes in. Seeing this makes me want to strangle people who think this kind of treatment and living conditions is ok! It's sick and makes me ashamed to be a human!
And also, when one of our dogs is being adopted, the people COME TO US TO BE SHOWN THE DIFFERENT DOGS WE HAVE!! Just a few weeks ago I was helping to show some of our dogs to people who wanted to adopt one!

I'm glad that when I got my puppy Aida, I went to see her in the place she was living. She had space to run, a clean place to sleep, plentiful food and clean water. This is a great reminder that we should always be allowed to see where they're living. Thanks H.S.U.S., I'll remember never to buy a dog unless the breeder lets me see their living conditions.

at my flea market they sell 3 day old rabbits and week old puppies in SEVERE need of medical attention. So my cousin is a good person because my cousin bought the whole flea market and closed down live animal selling areas

I rescued a pug that came from a back yard breeder like this....When we got her she had mange, and was completely blind, and had a deformed leg from being crammed into a crate she was also extremely emaciated. The woman I got her from claimed she was perfectly healthy and that her "other dogs" weren't letting her eat. She tried to sell her on craigslist several times and when I found her..I was so afraid for her that I gave her a home...she lived six happy, healthy years and passed away recently

I would just say STOP to buy puppies in animal s shops or in particulars who just treat the dogs for money... if you want a race dog, just go to a professional, and if like me, ypu don t matter of the race, go in a shelter, these are so many dogs who are waiting for you to give you love...

If you think that's bad, Keller's Flea Market in Savannah, GA is totally worse. The idiot vendors sell puppies from PUPPY MILLS without even knowing their conditions! You got to get those pups outta here and arrest the "breeders" who is responsible for it
Gosh you need a strong heart to deal with that, those poor dogs, the whole set up just made me feel physically sick. Harsher punishments are definitely needed for this sort of thing.

I have a wonderful golden retriever witch we got from a breeder. He is a great dog but I think next time I'm going to adopt from a shelter for dogs in need😊
