If you have an electric motor, you want to leave the throttle in neutral when setting failsafe. Otherwise it will go full throttle in reverse when you loose signal.
I know this is an old video, but it helped me today. I couldn’t get my truck to function right. All I did was upgrade servos and all of a sudden my shit was acting crazy. I calmed down after swearing and kicking the wall a few times. Watched your video, and VOILÀ! Perfect. You are the man bro. I really appreciate you sir! Thank you! Saved the day and my Taylor 35cc, cause that joint was maxing out the throttle! :)
Thanks man, I wish I had had fail safe on my old RC, it wouldn't had driven into the ocean and destroyed my ESC. I have now set it up on my new RC and it works perfectly.
You got it my dude, I am glad this video helps you out. Just so you know, I have recently converted all my radios to the fly sky GT5 system. It is far easier to bind and run.
@hybrid32494 can you recommend a decent 6ch receiver that is compatible with GT3B or mainly GT3C, that has gyro & failsafe built in? Thanks in advance.
glad to help!! This is a very useful feature on any nitro RC, years ago people would purchase separate failsafes to do what this receiver already has built in.
Thanks for this video bro, I recently had my nitro rustler full throttle away from me. Luckily not to bad of damage. I have that same remote, i'm going to have to do this. Any chance you have a throttle return spring set up with your nitro rustler? Just got into nitro rc's. Thank you for your time.
hey my dude! Im glad you found this video, the fail-safe setting is super important. BTW about the throttle return spring, I highly recommend you Just use a thin rubber band around the carb's High Speed Needle and the Throttle arm itself, it will pull the carb closed if anything happens. Thing is, if for any reason the power is cut or battery falls out, the fail-safe won't work, and you would need a real spring or rubber band to close the carb, you know.
I agree with you, yesterday I put the spring on and it feels pretty tight and when I push throttle it doesn't open all the way. I just found this video about the fair safe, so I'll be doing that after work and grabbing some rubber bands. I just really hope it doesn't take off again. It crashed pretty hard in to the curb and I just fixed it.but I didn't have the failsafe on and I didn't have a rubber band or a spring holding the carb closed.
hey buddy! You got it! That's what I'm all about it, transparency, honesty and making Nitro Great again!! lol. In the future if you get a chance to pick up another radio I highly recommend the newer Flysky GT5 radio, you can see in my newer videos I use it all around. It's the same as this, but 6 channel, easier to bind and easier to set failsafe.
@@hybrid32494 Thank for the replies and for the transmitter rec! I'm on the Fs gt3c, love the battery pack and ability of multi binding memory. Your right tho, channel limits. I'll definitely consider the GT5 whenever I switch up. Great channel and info👍 much appreciated!
@@hybrid32494 Just thought to mention to check out stirlingkit for more nitro options. That I found in aliexpress), rh1001(the have them for 199), 94122 from them. Debating on the rh1008. Also picked up the HSP 94166 and 94763 from BG. Diving deep in Nitro🤘 Thanks for the awesome info! do you know if you can set a thottle limit on this radio iv got a 6 year old kid wanting to drive my baja but i would like to set a throttle limit without messing about with the throttle linkage
Question when i set my Servo Reverse for channel 1 on my Kyosho mp777 with this Radio and Turn the Radio OFF it keeps Resetting to Normal ??? not Saving the Setting for Reverse ? Why , am i doing something wrong
hey man!! It sounds like you are not fully saving the servo reversing setting. When you see it lit up on the screen after turning the selection dial make sure to actually save the setting by pressing the selection button and then pressing END. Let me know if that clears it up, if not I will go get my radio and do it right now myself.
hello, YES. You can program a fail safe feature for any channel. I just used it only for the second channel in tis video because it's my throttle servo which matters here. You just gotta make sure the correct channel is selected when you do the programming steps.
@@iforce2d hey man! I'm here to help you now if you're doing this, We will get it right now. You don't need to select any channel, when you apply full brakes with the rubber band as I showed that is the way the failsafe will be set. It simply stores the current position of the remote. IN this case it will remember to apply full brakes in the event of signal loss of any kind. you don't need to do anything else on the remote itself. Let me know if this helps, ill respond to more comments today for ya.
@@hybrid32494 I see. Something must be not right with mine then. I want failsafe to put channels 1 and 2 in the middle and channel 3 at zero throttle, this is for a plane. After doing this procedure, turning the radio off causes channel 1 to go center and 3 to go zero like I wanted, but 2 stays wherever it already was. I suspect it might have something to do with elevon mixing not working with failsafe correctly. No matter, this is just for a temporary setup I will be re-doing pretty soon anyway.
@@iforce2d The theory is the receiver will duplicate the condition of the channels as they are in the time when you press the button in the receiver and hav the bind plug inserted. Sounds like it's almost right for you. Because the channels you don't mess with are in the middle, as they should be. Attempt to do this again and set the desired channel 2 position only on the remote. Ofcourse the plane setup is now complicating all of this you're right. Lets see if it will work.
Hello. Maybe i am stupid...but if i activate failsafe it always has the failsafe on ???....or fail safe on need to do this every time i connect lipo ???
Hey buddy, there are a couple issues you could be having first are you sure your throttle servo is working and functional I would recommend you plug something else into the throttle port to make sure that the receiver itself is functional. You could also have the plug wires incorrectly positioned just make sure the plug is correct, let me know with any updates and let’s see if we can get it working.
If you have an electric motor, you want to leave the throttle in neutral when setting failsafe. Otherwise it will go full throttle in reverse when you loose signal.
Silly question, but have you tried this on an electric setup? I have an electric boat I would like to set the failsafe to neutral.

And I am sorry I am asking again and again

They did such a great job designing this radio but they screwed up big time with the horribly range. What a joke!
