Absolutely brilliant mate , I’m fitting these receivers to all my 1/5 petrol cars , there was nothing about the failsafe in the instructions I got with my radio , so thank you very much ...
Your an absolute legend mate. I knew their were built in fail-safe but didn't know it was oon spersific Chanel or that you could change it . Big help. Also didn't know it worked on electric. Had an elec run away couple weeks ago smashed into parked cars tire so wasn't too much damage.
So glad to find this video had just finished putting a brushless system in my car and it lost connection and smacked the curb at full speed this will save it from happening again
Dude ! that was a lot of helpful. I've been repairing others stuff even inside of fs gt3c i had to dissamble and reassemble. that was nothin. end up i set failsafe and end of my problem. THANK YOU !
Thanks so much! Today I lost contact when I was out driving my slash and it drove through our village in Sweden with full throttle and some helped me find it, then it had driven into a bush and stopped. I almost had a heart attack. 😂 I tried my failsafe now and then they were full throttle forward just what he did outside so I set it to neutral now and tried and then the tires stand completely still.👍 I use the hobbyking GT-2 transmitter and then to try the failsafe mode so the wheels of the car must spin while you switch off the transmitter. So you learn to accelerate while you turn off the transmitter, otherwise the car just stands and beeps and looks for a signal.
I know Im randomly asking but does someone know a way to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Cairo Kayden Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and Im trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Thanks for your information, I was going crazy after receiver replacement on my rovan baja 1/5 buggy, do you have any videos on rear end dog bones and differential transmission replacement. Complete replace of all dogbones and differential transmission with new parts, please help.... I have everything apart and the differential out but I don't know how to replace the broken dog bones and put everything back together please help or point me to a direction of a tutorial... sincerely James...
Hi there. Maybe you can help me. I have a FS-GT3C remote and i have it linked to my boat. However the reverse has more power the my forward throttle. How do i fix this ? Ive tried everything.
My Rovan Baja goes Solo last 2 times I have played with it. Receiver battery is has new batterys and Rovan receiver is fully charged. First time took it for a spin was fun and fine for bout 10 mins then full throttle riding solo straight into the fence luckily flipped upside down and didn't break a thing spring loaded fence lol. Second time same thing 10mins full throttle I scream out Wow wow wow and zooms past me bout 40 to 50ks stupid me try to use my boot to stop it from the top of the Baja's roof but I only sorta slowed it down and let it crash into the fence again this time the shocks broke of but luckily again no damage and managed to pop them back on. Now I have made a custom timber nudge bar and going to probably give it one more go as I have disconnect the lights to the Baja as it has led lights connected from last owner. The receiver and radio seem to work fine on my bench and fail safe works as I can turn of radio and brakes come on but if I switch of the Baja on full throttle full throttle is stuck. Never ever had this issue with none of my other rc cars n boats or drones just this Baja had a mind of its own sometimes lol. I have asked questions on Facebook and one guy told me to change the radio and receiver This his what he said The vibration of the motor and terrain plus heat build up in the reciever are most likely causing it.. The flysky gt3b are known to have reciever issues. I run spektrum dx4c and dx5c and have never had a run away. The dx5c runs less than $150 online. Also this The large steering servos draw a lot of power. I've been in the hobby for 30 years. Everything from boats, planes, helicopters, you name it....lol Always happy to help. Well see what happens tomorrow when I drive it without lights connected and a costom nudge bar made just for the crash lol hopefully it just works Also will be getting a fail safe kill switch put on just another back up thing stupid car should of came with one.
thanks for the video. I am a rookie and am asking for some help 🙄. I just bought 2x MJX 14210 and ti's crazy fast so I am buying 2x FS GR3C & GR3e to tame it down :). Original MJX receiver got 5 slots, 3 channels and 2x VCC for two fans ( on ESC and Motor ) . I am asking if I can conect both fans on one VCC slot on GR3e ? Thanks in advance
Hi, I believe the Rovan remote kill switch (#63024) requires a 3rd channel and the 290A (standard model) only comes with a 2 channel radio. You might need to get a three channel radio like the FlySky GT3B to make it work.
Sorry can someone tell me I want to order a rc car but it says comes with a Dean connector can you tell me what it is be for I order it do I have go do any thing with it or is it nothing to worry about
There's lots of battery/ESC connectors out there, different cars have different designs, but they can all be swapped out for another. You just need the battery connector to match the car and charger 🙂
@@HobbiesDirect I don't understand were wood that be located on I only have were you put the sky stick or the vcc and there only one going in ch2 and ch2 1 but the plug is joining to off them
my fail safe only hold the throtle off for 40 seconds no matter what controller I use I can change receivers on handsets and it still holds only 40 seconds then I am paddling flat out to head off my boat before it hits things the only common denominator is the flycolor 150 amp esc I am at a losswhat to do
I have the same transmitter and receiver, I binded a new receiver to a different model, hooked up a Hobbywing Quickrun 1060 esc. Now there's no response at all. Although my transmitter is beeping because of low voltage. Please tell me that's the reason it's not doing anything! I'm new to this transmitter. Anyone?!
It's possible that it's not working right because of flat batteries, but also make sure your trims are set to neutral; brushed ESCs use the neutral point of the transmitter to determine neutral, and if it can't do that, it won't work.
@@HobbiesDirect Hi, I just placed brand new batteries, and still no movement. How do I set the trims to the neutral position? I'm not very good with this sort of radio.
my maxx lost signal and went full throttle with no steering or braking availability... thats shi* since i read at their website that it comes built in and you dont have to set anything
I done all that on my electric boat then held the throttle at 1/4 and turned off the transmitter, it immediately drops to off and zero revs, then 40 flashes of the blinking receiver light later it revs flat out. The upside down boat or out of range boat out of control with slight prop in the water with no water intake in the water it just cooks the motor, it has cost me 2 motors so far I saved the third motor by bench testing and changing to a spectrum transmitter and receiver. I was running the waterproof flysky FS GR3 receivers but now I don’t trust it. I have 4 receivers they all do it. The remote transmitter is actually the Hobbyking rebadged Flysky. I have no clue what to do. It had pretty good range too slightly better using the Absima CR2S V2 transmitter than the HK transmitter but still 40 seconds after fail safe kicks in it starts revving flat out and I am paddling the canoe trying to catch it before it burns out the motor or smashes the boat into something.
There was a time RC cars were sold without a failsafe and probably still are? I had a nitro as my first car and it run away and I demanded a refund as obviously a fault in the receiver. Don't operate anything without a failsafe or carnage will ensure, unless it's a rock crawler which only travels 1 metre a minute

Very helpful and informative video thanks!
Which channel on receiver works for failsafe mode, In most of shopping sites - they mention channel 2 only works in failsafe mode
On some receivers it's both, but usually only channel 2 :-)
Question what is the channel 3 on the gt3c receiver for other than binding ?
Anything you like; maybe another servo acting as a machine gun turret or active rear wing?
Quick question , is it normal for fail-safe to take 1 to almost 2 seconds to activate? Definitely not instantly on my end.
Might be a slightly different version or some interference, but if it's working, then all is well!
And the steering system stays on place or can it be programt alsow?
Depends on the receiver, but you usually can set the steering position as well :-)
can i use a flysky reciever with the austar transmitter
Hi there. Maybe you can help me. I have a FS-GT3C remote and i have it linked to my boat. However the reverse has more power the my forward throttle. How do i fix this ? Ive tried everything.
Swap the throttle channel direction, swap the motor wires around, or both. And reset the end points :-)
Does this work when your radio goes out of range? Like too far of a distance from you
Can we bind (fs a3) recive with flysky fs i6 transmitter ?

That should work nicely, pretty sure I've done that in the past haha@@jured7383

Couldn't get the failsafe on mine to work. Had to purchase a separate failsafe. I seen to have so much trouble with these flysky receivers
I am getting really bad range with this any idea why
Try re-binding, otherwise there's likely damage to the antenna wire or local interference.
