I have a 2019 A7 and I replaced my PCV valve alone 3 weeks ago and I can swear up and down that it's made a huge difference in my acceleration. Especially my boost. It fills up easier, and also fills up slightly during each gear change until 4 or 5th gear I think.
@@midlifemods lol after seeing your video, I realized there is more to the PCV unit lol. I just bought the pcv crankcase. I'm at the dealership right now.
Did you check the charge pipe connection on the intercooler? When I changed my intercooler out, I got a similar whistle once I tightened it down. It went away.
Thanks. I haven’t fixed it yet. I also ordered the hose from 034. Hoping it works. My theory is the connection between the turbo inlet and the PCV hose is loose.
@@midlifemods I just ordered one as well. Let me know if yours fixed the problem. Come to think of it, it happened once i replaced that turbo inlet pipe. I was gonna try and put the stock one back on and see but ill try the new 034 hose first. Has to be that connections. Maybe even that hose underneath the turbo inlet pipe.
According to Audi, that hose isn’t supposed to be disconnected from the stock inlet. But we all do it when we upgrade our inlets :) so it’s gotta be a weak point. At least that’s my theory. I’ll keep you posted.
The 034 logo over his IE shirt LOL 😂… Also there’s a pretty easy solution to see if it’s the turbo, put a TTE810 in there and see if the whistle goes away. Basically the only solution IMO 😉
DUDE! Where were you when I needed you?! This video would have been so much better if you walked into the garage and handed me a new TTE810! HAHAHA! Maybe next video? :)
Is there any way you are getting a leak from your connections to your intercooler? would a poor or loosened hose clamp cause a drop in boost? I know when I put my intercooler in I went out and got even heavier duty hose clamps and ran two on each side as I had the room and I figured I just wont eat that day for the weght reduction. Also with the interrcooler tucked right up against the grill if under boost it was the intercooler either a really small crack in a fin or a leak on that hose you might not even see the smoke as ambient air may make it dissipate if a minor leak. Maybe the charge pipes not tight to the throttlebody? Im not sure. I just know you from the group and are trying to brain storm ideas because I like your channel and you are always cool with people in the 034 group and hope you can get it completely sorted quickly. I bet even if your PCV valve was still good that the tighter fitting billet cap helps . Anyways, hope you get to the bottom of the mystery!.
Thanks man! I appreciate the brainstorming. I'm pulling off the bumper and grill tomorrow to do all the chrome delete stuff so I'm going to look at the charge pipes and intercooler closely to see if notice anything obvious. The good news is I'm not getting any low boost codes, so I should be fine for now.
No brother. Still trying to track it down. I ran the car pretty hard today and it performed really well with no codes. I still hear the whistle though.
@@midlifemods i think so? my B9 RS5 sounds like that once you get the transmission warmed up and start driving and ppl on the forums reported the same, it's a similar ZF so maybe? enjoy the supercharger whine in good health
I’m not 100% certain but I think it’s coming from the PCV line where it connects to the turbo inlet. I’m going to change the line shortly and see if that fixes it.

Not yet but that’s next on my list. Thanks for the tip!

@@midlifemods you just have to move a few hundred miles up north sir. Surely we can find a TTE or two laying around at 034 👀 😆
Where did you buy the pvc valve and how much? I want to switch mine out but it still good, but don’t know how much longer

any update on this? I have a stage 3 setup and cannot find my boost leak for the life of me.

Good camera work Dillon's "oldest son"!
He’s a natural
I got this exact noise and am afraid the turbo is going out 😢
Me too!
it's your ZF8 transmission whining? that's my guess. not a bad thing, I've heard some B9s with that, just treat it as a new supercharger whine
You think? Maybe. Could be the JXB Performance Driveshaft Carrier? Should I slap a "Supercharged" badge on the quarter panel? LOL! :)

@@midlifemods cool! I just did.
Man it’s the hose, not the pcv unit itself. The hose can only be purchased with the stock inlet pipe. 034 has a video on that
We tested the hose. Maybe you didn’t watch the whole video, but I showed 034’s video in this. We did the hose valve test.
It did sound like a kazoo!
Rub some oil on that fresh o ring on the oil cap before screwing it on. Lube goes a long way.
Wise words!
