    I love the results of roller set/ pin curly coiffure and as a future cosmetology student 😀 😍 😄 I would like to find you tube videos which show the haircutting, wet setting, and comb out/brush out cosmetology tutorials 😀 😉 I plan on eventually growing my 2" permed pixie into a layered bob hairstyle, and personally experimenting with these beautiful retro hairstyles! It will be so much fun! I will eventually be transitioning/ gender affirmation, because my genitals were congenitally malformed, and that is now causing fluid overloading in my heart and lungs 🫁 💔 I am excited, but also very anxious about the " mtf bottom surgery" that will be required to extend my life! If anybody can give me advice, formal or informal, I would be eternally grateful. I will have to move to the Sacramento area from northeast California to have this essential medical care and surgery performed 🎭 by specialists in their respective fields. Before and after, I plan on attending cosmetology school, and eventually becoming a licensed cosmetologist. I would really like to help serve senior citizens, and the LGBTQ community!

    I have tried everything, from rollers to 500 degree curling irons, defusing my hair and blow drying it upside down, mousse volumizing products and hairspray.... still nothing works and I am so frustrated.
    My hair goes limp every single time. I've left rollers in upwards of 3-4 hours, and no curl, and very little volume.
    I don't know what to do anymore, I have a lot of hair but its pretty fine. Some days I really just feel like I need to shave it all off.
    I do wash it everyday, but I kind of have too, otherwise the greasiness and oiliness is too much, and then my strawberry blond hair looks really gross.
    I'm also trying to get into working in dental offices, and all those aerosols that we work with on a day to day basis can get in my hair, and I refuse to leave it there.
    I've never had dandruff, my hair isn't all dried out, it actually grows pretty fast, its super soft and I rarely have split ends, and I have never dyed it. So what do I do?
    Am I just stuck with forever flat hair?

    What is the size of the rolllers?

    • @NicolasJurnjackHair
      @NicolasJurnjackHair  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi @Miriam Felt. Large, around 62mm I think. NOTE: measurements are not consistent across all brands, and some brands have as many as five or more sizes to choose from. Best way to decide what size rollers to use is decide the style, shape and feeling you're looking to create.
      *Large roller = soft shape, gentle waves, they can be used to add height and volume at the root.
      *Smaller rollers = tighter and more defined waves and curls. *You can also use different size rollers together. This is an example of a look I did using curlers for a Schiaparelli shoot, the goal: To create dramatic, large, loose waves of rolling curls: ▶ NICOLAS JURNJACK: instagram.com/nicolasjurnjack/

    How long do you keep the dryer thing on for?

    • @NicolasJurnjackHair
      @NicolasJurnjackHair  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi, Thanks for your question and apologies for late response. If you look at the video at around 09:43 there are 3 different options for drying, the hot hat takes around 10-12 minutes.

    if u do this with the hair wet is better

    • @Alai8766
      @Alai8766 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      doing this with wet hair is actually very bad for it. Hair should be nearly dry when putting in rollers, because wet hair shrinks as it dries which can cause breakage when the wet hair is tightly wrapped around a roller

    • @NicolasJurnjackHair
      @NicolasJurnjackHair  5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @JL - You can use rollers with wet hair, but a different base preparation and technique is needed, side bonds are easily broken by water making wet hair more fragile. There are also rollers that are more suitable for a wet hair base. Most important is the careful preparation of the base: de-tangling, moisturizing, using a leave-in conditioner or serum are key to decreasing breakage.

    How many hours ?

    • @NicolasJurnjackHair
      @NicolasJurnjackHair  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ellie, that's a tough one! It really depends on your level of expertise. Less than a hour for me - but I've had plenty of practice using curlers on fashion shoots. This tutorial is deliberately slow and detailed with many tips so beginners can learn good technique step-by-step; once you have the technique down (follow the tips, and avoid getting your hair tangled up in the rollers) it should take less time, and you can go beyond the technique to creativity.

    I'll stick to magnetic or old fashioned or foam rollers

    • @NicolasJurnjackHair
      @NicolasJurnjackHair  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Great, use what works best for you, there are more than a dozen varieties of rollers on the market. Technique varies slightly-some are more effective when starting with wet hair and others more effective with a dry hair base. Whatever you decide it's important that the hair is thoroughly dry and cool to the touch before removing the rollers. Hot/warm hair is very fragile and easily loses its shape.

    Umm those freaking Velcro rollers pull your hair I just had some in was not fun pulling it out🤬

    • @NicolasJurnjackHair
      @NicolasJurnjackHair  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Summer Wallace, try foam rollers. But as with any type of roller used, the trick is "never pull" them out. Step 6: Unwinding the Rollers: 11:09 "release the hair carefully from the rollers, never pull..." .
