22 year old (beginning) blacksmith here; As G.W. Bealer said in the book 'The art of blackwmithing': "Of all the artisans, blacksmiths are the calmest. Presumably because they're beating any frustration put of themselves and intp the metal." Funny that the National School of blacksmithing in the UK should be mentioned in the video, I went there after my two year apprenticeship in the Netherlands. (That is not to say I am 'done' learning of course, we never do in this trade.)
Good video. The man is correct. Blacksmithing is good for the soul and is in all ways a wonderful outlet for artistic expression. I’ve been blacksmithing for less than a year, but it has already added so much to my life.
Nice tong rack! When I do get an indoor shop, I'll be taking one from your book. I have a little stand I cover with tarp, but I really like that. Simple but effective.🍻
What a cool dude... I deeply respect this man for his craftsmanship and skill and admire his outlook and mental fortitude. Yes indeed get out and make something beautiful and functional!

49 Y.O Blacksmith here. The mental calmness when crafting is a sort of Zen. That cube was beautiful !

Great work. Was so glad to hear him share about some of the history of women blacksmiths. I am one now and truly enjoy the craft.

Drove past here today and caught the mural out of the corner of my eye. Here I am again.
Brilliant video Ronan!!! Muscles aren't a requirement of the work, they are a result of the work. For the love of humanity, keep them coming!!!
