    Honestly, I am just glad they are extending their commitment to the series. Remember the state of pre 2019 flight simming? 2D clouds EVERYWHERE, addon prices absurdly high and everything just felt like it was a sinking ship.

      I have a screenshot from MSFS last year of a $419 add on, I'm not sure that the ship has stopped sinking. I'm scared to think about another Flight sim title if airplanes are going to cost that much.

    • @SHRModding
      @SHRModding ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @@ethanmckibbin obviously that's an outlier. awesome highly detailed study level planes can be had for $50-70 with far far greater modelling and systems detail than the previous flight sims offered. sure there were bad and absurdly priced mods for MSFS 2020 but for every absurd mod there are tonnes of great ones and also a continually developed platform. they are also willing to and are actively working with 3rd party mod creators like working title and inibuilds. if you look at the big picture the flight sim genre is thriving, not sinking. no idea why a single absurd price turned your opinion like that. like obviously that's not the norm and cannot be the norm because people wouldn't buy and 3rd party creators wouldn't make money

      Sadly i think this is a sign the ship is sinking. There is no way, Asobo unless forced into it, are going to continue to develop MSFS 2020 at the same rate. MSFS2020 was not cheap, is still nowhere near finished and has a list as long as your arm of promised basic features such as a replay system and a decent viewing system that we had 30 years ago. If Asobo think they can just move all that to a new list in MSFS2024 and just slide the dates yet again to the right i think they may be in for a shock. They made big promises of free upgrades at a premium initial cost when MSFS 2020 was launched, i doubt many will be fooled into making the same mistake again.

    The scene with the Airbus A400M is not the Arctic, but Antarctica. The giveaway is the blue structure on the right which is has the construction used in the British Antarctic Survey base for Halley Bay IV . Interesting also because Halley Bay IV was built as a year-round base, but is currently summer-only due to cracks in the iceshelf.

      Having lived at Halley V & helped to build Halley VI, I confirm this is on the Brunt Ice Shelf in Antarctica.
      Only inaccurate part is that particular plane & mobile stairs(would have been on skies if they was really there) have never been to the station.

    • @mumblecake251
      @mumblecake251 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gliding is worth extending though. No support for flying tasks with waypoints, exclusion zones and timing, nor any race support with regatta starts or launch windows. Realistically study level gliding will still be done in Condor 2 at present. I used to do a lot of study level gliding in Condor 2 and also tried MSFS ... I wish it wasn't but at present Condor 2 is still winning hands down from a realism point of view. I would really like to have the realism from Condor 2 with the graphics from MSFS. For one we would need proper support for the Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 in MSFS which is pretty much the best Gliding flightstick which allows for realistic trimming where the zero point of the flightstick actually moves.

      @@mumblecake251 Agreed on Condor2 however it also suffers from terrible twitchy flight models. I did a glider aerobatics course recently and currently the K21 in Xplane behaves like the real thing for aeros training and somewhat realistic for aerotows . But unfortunately has non of the other good stuff that comes with condor. The weather system in FS2020 has tremendous untapped potential and could be awesome if done properly but right now it's tremendously disappointing and I don't see it getting fixed for niche glider pilots

They can do what they did, keep the current engine and "not be a big enough upgrade to justify muh whole new game" or they could have tried for a massive engine overhaul and "destroyed my entire investment in fs2020, and started bugfixing a new engine from scratch".

    If purchases from the marketplace carry over, then the cost to upgrade falls on 3rd party purchases which is outside MS's purview. Same would apply to any X-Plane release so honestly we're netting much better with MSFS since we know marketplace add-ons will upgrade at no cost to likely superior variants. At the same time we're getting way more bang for our buck than we do on X-Plane all while the flight model gap between MSFS and X-Plane narrows with each release/update. I call it a win.

    Vert disapointed with this, there are still MANY features that were promissed to MFS that we still don't get, to mention a few: multicrew support, actually working live traffic, they also promissed almost all airliners in the world liveries in the sim by default, also plenty of bugfixing to do, and they been using their resourcers in a new title instead of working on this, I find this unacceptable, at the VERY least I hope current users and specially delux and premium owners get a very generous discount on the new version

    I hate this...watch them add new features like seasons to 2024 only and not fully support 2020. This is ridiculous. Is my logbook gonna be able to cross from 2020 to 2024. Are we gonna get MSFS 2028 in 4 more years and have to go through this again? These missions should have definately been a paid update. If this is JUST a missions/arcade game then fine and they wanted to have a "flight simulator" and "casual gamer flight game with no freeflight....just missions and a limited map" that would have been good. But this is a replacement of MSFS 2020

    Well, what do I think? I think my purchase of MSFS2020 was a bad purchase, since I managed to jump on only a couple months ago, and now it seems support will stop in only a month from now, despite the 10 year promise. So...yeah. F that, that's a big nope from me for the franchise from now on.
    If this was a DLC? I would be ecstatic. Being forced to abandon the old title for the new one? This is not how "lIvE sErViCeS" work MS/Asobo, this is not how they supposed to work at all.

      @GlobalTossPot ปีที่แล้ว

      How is it a bad purchase? Microsoft themselves said pretty much everything you have now will be applicable in the new sim. Sometimes a completely new release is needed to better optimize things especially in a game of this capacity and adding probably detailed missions which takes a lot of effort for something like this. At least they are not completely trashing 2020 and not allowing you to move over all your stuff. Why complain when we will more than likely get a better sim and still be able to keep everything we have in the completely new one. You brain dead people are complaining because you’re entitled and don’t actually pay attention to the details. Blind leading the blind
