Hi everyone, thank you for watching the video and for commenting. Please note that my recommendations "SimFanatic's Recommended Requirements" are really suggestions for 2K to 4K with high to ultra settings. For those of you that don't have the hardware, don't fret, you will be able to run MSFS 2024 with lesser specs. Also, you will notice at 5:00 it says "Office Requirements", this should say, "Official Requirements". Darn autocorrect, we'll say it's that anyway. ;) Blue Skies friends and happy simming!
Ok, since the recommended HW never panned out very well for 2020, perhaps the best thing to do is wait 6 months after release to let the wailing and gnashing of teeth subside before building anything new…
I agree, though I'd honestly say if you go with a Ryzen 9800X3D + 5070 or better, you'll be good to go (unless Asobo truly messes something up big time). Good thing is, these components will come out shortly after the release of MSFS 2024.
The question is what will be needed to run good VR.
Thank you for keeping us informed, looking forward to the new simulator
You betcha Silva!!
well done SimFanatic , look forward to this edition...
Thank you Icarrus. Cheers my friend!
I think this should do it:
Windows 11 Pro, Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, GeForce RTX 4090 24GB GPU, 32GB DDR5-6000MHz RGB RAM, 2TB M.2 GEN4 NVMe SSD, 360mm RGB Liquid Cooling
Oh yeah, you're set! :)
nice 1080p setup :D
32GB….No Way…They also recommend a second 4090 for the AI..🤭
It’s above the price of a car that takes you from place A to B
You forgot the 1000 watt power supply...
Aurora Borealis? At this time of year in this part of the country, localized entirely within my computer?
Great video! Thank you
Thank you for watching carl! Cheers & Blue Skies!!
So you are implying my Ryzen 5900X is slow now, just because they released the 7000 series? yeah right. I'm sure it'll run the sim just fine at near max settings with my 4090, especially with proper multi-thread support.
thanks for this Video with many informations. I wondering would the (old) sceneries from MSFS2020 running on it or did we have to buy all the thinks again!
You are very welcome. Thank you for watching. To answer your question, most, if not all, addons (including sceneries) should be available in 2024; especially ones purchase via the MSFS marketplace.
Did you watch the video? 😂
Thank god I have all the recommended specs for the next gen Sim
Not confirmed specs!
Thanks!
How big is it going to be? I had to buy a 1TB SSD for MSFS2020. Do I need to buy another one?
No, unless you want both sims installed on your system Vrooden.
@@SimFanatic Well, do I have to have them both? Yes.
Do I WANT to have them both? No.
@@VroodenTheGreat Why do you think that you need both installed if you don't want to?
Your recommended requirements are certainly more probable and more practical than the other requirements you mentioned.
I do have a strong personal suspicion that Asosbo is depending heavily on DLSS 3+, so that might rule out the 30 series cards for +60FPS. And who knows if AMD's FSR will be up to the task when 24 rolls out.
Will we get processor support above 2Cores and finally arrive in the 21st century??
Yes Casey, finally! :)
The hardware requirements you suggest make sense, but if you have an Xbox which would cost far far less to buy, would you get the whole amazing graphics, or does a pc make a much better experience? I already bought a Samsung 43 inch 3840 x 1200 widescreen but a regular pc so would need a new one I guess, but also have a large 4k telly and top end Xbox. What would be better?
The thing I'm most interested/concerned about is: Is MSFS 2024 going to have the 3 editions(Standard, Deluxe and Premium), like MSFS 2020, or is everything going to be included in one edition?
That is a great question which i do not know the answer to. My guess, given past history, MS will do a similar pricing scheme as they did wo with MSFS 2020. Time will tell my friend. Cheers!!
I just got 1 question for you. Will the Airbus A400M Atlas produce contrails in high altitude on MSFS 2024?
Lol, no idea.
@@SimFanatic You'll have to find out when MSFS 2024 gets released.
I have a question,150 gb availabel in the memory space after instaling the game or before instaling it?Pls tell me
Hi there! Should be before installing. Cheers!!
that's normally what the game will use, however, there are usually no add-ons included (no World/Sim Updates, no 3rd party Aircraft, no additional Software, etc.).
@@SimFanatic oh I have 200 gb availabel thank you so much
Thanks for the great update😎
You bet TPHI17! Thank you for watching and for your continued support.
There is Zero news here
Do you know if msfs24 will have cloud effects (when you fly through, the wings are hidden by the clouds)
I have not heard but am hoping so. Always have thought that would be a cool effect.
Thank you for watching and for the question. Cheers & Blue Skies!
Thankyou!
I’ve got a 12900k and a 4080 hopefully that 12900k can run the game well. 2020 runs fantastic with frame gen
You will totally be fine with 2024 with your setup. Cheers!
How about improving ground equipment tethering to GA Aircraft to tug and pushback. Also simulate passengers loading and unloading from GA Aircraft to add more realism to the Sim and take passengers to and from destinations!!
My understanding some of this may be coming with 2024. Cheers!
SimFanatics: Office requirement.
Me: Yes
My 2080 Super: Yes
Wow!
cant wait :)
I had so many issues following updates I am afraid to consider anything new from Microsoft. Half the time I couldn’t use it or had to screw around with settings!
they still can't put out updates for fs2020 without screwing up some other part of the sim that was working fine before the update and likely won't be fixed months if at all not to mention almost 24 hours to download and install everything even with straight ethernet connection
Do you think the Xbox Series X will run this game with the recommended status regarding this vid.
It will certainly run it but won't look quite as good as the latest PC hardware. Of course, the new generation of Xbox is coming which I'm sure 2024 will eventually take advantage of the hardware. Cheers!
I have thoroughly enjoyed my MSFS 2020 experience. Dumb question, but will all the planes I’ve purchased be dead to me once I buy and load MSFS 2024?? I’m excited about the new version and may very well just go wild with new equipment (computer, HOTAS, etc..) but just hate to lose EVERYthing I’ve paid for!! Thanks for the information!
Not a dumb question at all; I addressed your question in the video. MSFS/Asobo will continue to support third-party add-ons that are purchased through the MSFS marketplace (and most likely outside of the marketplace).
Thank you for watching and for commenting my friend! Cheers & Blue Skies!!
@@SimFanaticsincere thanks!
Tbh it can run on a potato. My ryzen 5 2400g and rx570 have coped fine on medium and high quality. It coped quite well and most of the time any stuters are because of cache
I have a 40 series rtx but a i7 13700f am i good, or do i need a i9 13900k?
Oh, you should be just fine. Cheers!
@@SimFanatic thank you, cheer to you too!
2024 looks real nice. Of course, so did 2020. Since '20 STILL has issues, i'll be taking a pass on this one.
Your recommended CPUs are rather high end. I'm sure you won't need that for an enjoyably experience @ high @ 1440p. You don't even need that for MSFS2020.
That highly depends on the settings, location (in-Sim), Aircraft and additional Software. In some occasions a R7 5800X3D is currently too less for 1080p, so my guess is it would be also too less in 1440p.
@@waynewayneson4373 My point is you don't need that sort of high end cpu to enjoy the game at relatively high settings, for the most part. I also wouldn't recommend the i9 as those chips have issues.
@SimFanatic - I hope you're right about multi-threading. So hopefully, maybe, possibly, the typically mostly-unused 16cores/32threads of my Ryzen 5950X might actually finally be awakened from deep hibernation/slumber? 😁😁😁
Regarding current MSFS paid-for add-ons, you're saying that Asobo claims they'll still be compatible, which is great ...BUT... will we have to repurchase them again for MSFS 2024?
That's a great question. As far as I know, purchased add-ons in 2020 will be available in 2024 at no additional charge. At least, that is my understanding. Not sure how Asobo/MS will make that work in the Marketplace but I'm sure they will figure it out. Cheers!
multi threading won’t use all of your physical cores probably half at most
@@JM-jd2bf LOL I think I'd be happy with that. 😁
Everyone going on how great it is going to be not having to download everything, well think about it if your internet connection goes down for any reason, then forget using the sim.
I'll stick with the full download of 2020 yes it's a pain and slow to download, but if the internet goes down I can still use it.
How about AI ATC and AI Traffic improvements?
Yes, I believe there is supposed to be improved AI traffic and improved ATC.
Can I run this game guys on 1080p with rtx 4060 i5 12400f and 16gb ram?
Yes, at 1080p and that hardware, you will definitely be able to run MSFS 2024. Cheers!
@@SimFanatic Thanks!
Hey brother, hope ya'll doing alright. long time no seeing, I will be back soon flying with you guys. Hope you're doing good, my man @simFanatic.
Hey wfieldzz, we miss you my friend! Great to hear from you. Thank you for watching and commenting. Hope to fly with you soon!
Will it be monthly subscription to run fs2024, or just one time buy?
Hey @sugarsmith645 , one time buy my friend! Unless you have XBox Game Pass Ultimate, then it's monthly (with all your other games). Cheers!
Not really a 2024 question, but I'm reaching out to anyone in our sim community for advice/help.
The latest WU XVI Caribbean update says there's 3 new bush trips, but, although they show in the Caribbean update as being there, installed and up to date, they don't appear in the Bush Trip Menu page, and nor anywhere else! The MS FS2020/Asobo team say they're "Stumped" and have no idea as to why they don't show!! Very helpful - NOT!
Do you, or anyone reading this have any idea what may be the issue? My community folder is empty btw, and all of the 'new' Bush Trip aircraft are installed and up to date, and all versions of each aircraft are installed.
Does anyone else have the same problems?
Have you checked the corresponding folders where the bushtrips are stored? And have you tried to delete and reinstall the WU XVI Caribbean update?
Maybe something went wrong during the download or decompression or indexing.
Please feel free to join our Discord server, there is a troubleshooting/support channel in it with a lot of us there who are willing to help.
Cheers!!
My tought on HW requirements: AMD 5800X3D, 32GB RAM 7900XTX or For VR RTX4090 or 5080 or above.
Honestly, that's practically what I currently have running in 2K res. I'm sure those that have this will be just fine, but still, if I was building/purchasing a new rig, I would go with my recommend specs. :) Thank you for watching and for commenting markusachname1619. Blue Skies!!
Shall i buy MSFS 2020 now or wait for the 2024 new version?
MSFS 2020 and 2024 are two different programs.
MSFS 2020 is flying worldwide from A to B and MSFS 2024 is carrying out missions.
MSFS 2024 is not an add-on to MSFS 2020.
That's a great question. Unless you go with Xbox Game Pass (where both are included), I would wait for 2024. Cheers!
Would a 13th gen i9 13900HX be good for msfs2024 or no???
Aswell as RTX4070
And 32gb ram
Most definitely!
@@SimFanatic thank you so much for the quick response, means a lot, and thanks for the info!
@@frazixflying Always my friend! If you are available, come fly with me and the other SimFans tonight. We will be streaming in just under 3 hours flying the newly released PA-38 Tomahawk from Just Flight. If not tonight, maybe catch you another time.

@@Greazer those aren’t even out yet
shared cockpits would be good
Yes but will Asobo deliver
Thankfully I've got a 4090, Ryzen 9 7950X3D, and 64GB of RAM. I'm hoping it will perform the same as FS2020? Can't wait!!!!
You will surely be good SWAFanPilot. With your hardware, and the improvements in multicore and multithreading with 2024, I anticipate it will run as good as you have now with 2020. Of course, just speculating at this point. Cheers & Blue Skies!
@@SimFanatic Oh wow... multithreading will be FANTASTIC! Please keep us updated with new FS2024 information. Happy flying!
Jesus christ bro spare some parts for me 😭
@@Infinite-INF Lmfao
I just hope they don't ignore 2020. I know they say they won't but we'll see
If it can run on a Xbox then it can run on my pc
Are they adding more commercial planes?
I believe so, but an official list has yet to be released.
Good thing I play on xbox
they are not going to make a Weather Radar arent they?
Not sure
I have an rtx4070 and an i7 14700 with 32gb ram which I upgraded just last year and I have the feeling that I will be in the minimum hardware spectrum with a lot of stutters for msfs2024. With the nvidia 5 series cards coming up in 2024 I would expect the game to be modelled around that 😂
Will the new sim support triple screens?
Yes, as long as your video card supports multiple displays (outputs and enough vram), like MSFS 2020, 2024 should support the same. However, I am not certain of maximum display resolution the software itself will support.
I’m thinking about triple screens , but I think I’ll hold back for sim 2024 . Thanks
For minimum requirements, I have GTX 850M( 2 GB VRAM), 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SATA SSD and 1 TB HDD...this system is 11 years old and I played MSFS 2020 on my laptop... I could...my bro has a relatively new PC and the PC has of course best hardwares...his PC has 32 GB RAM, 1 TB NveM2 SSD( I hope I wrote correctly), RTX 3080(12 GB VRAM)... Later on, I'll buy a new laptop...but, my 11 year old laptop ran MSFS 2020 and I reduced the graphics a little bit, but wasn't so bad...I made flights, everythings worked good, of course little stutterings occured inevitably, but still the sim ran good...
what resolution? 720p? even lower? I know the 950m quite well and they are about equal, with 1080p absolutely out of the question.
@@waynewayneson4373 my system is like so...I wrote 850m, not 950m...950m is clearly new than 850m...anyway... really old laptop I have...I'll buy a new one... I had never a problem running about FSX...but MSFS 2020 runs on my laptop relatively plausable...of course I want to use high or ultra settings with high FPS as flying from A to B, and I don't want to reduce any settings without suffering.. for this reason I wrote like that above...
I'm a bit concerned that they are just saying addons will be "supported". Has anyone officially ever said we don't have to buy them again ? Because that would be they deal breaker for many I guess.
I would seriously hope MS wouldn't make us pay twice for the same addons. This would cause a serious PR blow back. Cheers & Blue Skies!
@@SimFanatic Agreed. Then again, I've learned to expect the worst when it comes to MS. Let's wait and see.
Heres my recommended hardware spec. Xbox series x or wait till microsoft tells you not these heads that are just guessing lol
About sys reqs, I assume it will be very similar with 2020. Just because, this sim is available for X Box, far as I know, no new XB is announced for this year. So XB hardware can't be upgraded. So because of that, they need to make this sim be able to run at full on XB.
Also, looks like engine is same (only upgraded ofcourse), better optimization, that could mean only better performance on same hardware. Right now, I have 12 threads, only 2 threads are used at 100%, other 2 maybe 50-70%, rest of 8 cores, aren't used by FS, they are mostly at 0% because other 4 E cores does background tasks. So in totall, my CPU utilization is about 30%. If it is better optimised, so sim can use at least 6 cores at 100%, I wouldn't be limited by CPU. GPU also isn't used 100%, but arount 70-80%, because GPU waits CPU.
Yes, I suspect due to the multithreading it should actually be better than 2020, but the graphics may need to be turned down for those with current hardware runing fine on 2020, or maybe not. Time will tell. Cheers!
Included replay capability?!?
Great question Kevin, unfortunately, MSFS/Asobo hasn't mentioned it; at least, not that I have seen so far. Thank you for watching and for commenting. Cheers!
Wonder if they will fix all the green paved roads. LOL. I'd be happy to buy a 1500 GPU if it meant RESULTS. MSFS was also good, but never great. It was held back by the horrible quality of BING maps instead of using Google maps! Outside of the paid downloaded airports and areas, most areas were really sad! I had better results in the old FSX with add-ons. Truly hoping the AI improves 3d generated housing and buildings etc. Still waiting for the 50 series GPU. See no reason to upgrade before that. 3070Ti runs MSFS great!
Will the Xbox series S run this?
Yes, I believe so.
Xbox s will work? 🙏🏻
Yeppers! XBox S will work my friend. Cheers!
5800x3d will stil be fine to guys
That is actually the CPU I use today.
How about VR?
Yes, it will be VR compatible. Cheers!
I’ll save everyone time: Still don’t know the requirements.
As stated, these aren't official requirements.
No mention of the ability to record and play back your flights. I know there are 3rd party options, but it would be nice to have it be part of the program.
Agreed remmet, surprised this wasn't included from day one. Flyby camera would also be nice. Thank you for watching and for commenting. Cheers and Blue Skies!
I’m on 13700K and RTX 4070. I hope I’m fine
You will totally be fine my friend.
I’m sorry but not everyone can afford a 7800x3d I mean I have one myself but the point is you should be able to use a ryzen 5 7600 to run the sim fine with a decent gpu so I would probably say don’t put an i9 14900k in the reccomended as that like a £500 cpu your basically telling people to get a 4060 and pair it with a 7800x3d or i9 here. I would say for reccomended requirements a ryzen 5 5600x or i5 12400F and an RTX 3060 or AMD Rx 6700 and above for ram 32gb preferred as I’ve found situations of stuttering after a while on 16gb but 16gb would be fine. I mean the storage depends on how much you want to install but I’d say 500gb ain’t a bad suggestion for the amount the sim can take up. 😂
Please note, those were my recommended settings for best performance for 2K or 4K having at high to ultra settings. Maybe I should have made that more clear. I'm sure lessor specs will run the sim acceptably.
Cheers!
@@SimFanatic got you! In that case I would agree
Well, that was a waste of almost 9mins. It tells us nothing we don't already know and the 'anticipated' spec requirements is well wide of the mark. FAQs and more! There weren't any.
Clickbait worked
I'm sorry you feel that way Mr Phantom. Regardless, thank you for watching and happy simming. Cheers!
If you can’t grind on it and get in game currency it will be shit

And for VR…. RTX 5090 😂
Lol, yeah, that ought to do it. :)
Hmmmmmm RTX 7090 would be better
Allot more yet to know about from asobo, still I need to update my GPU, My 3090 is pooped, need a 5090 now ;p
I think alot of simnerds will consider MSFS 2024 as a arcade game.
You may be correct my friend. Cheers!
" Rhyzen 7 7800X3D". I would say too high. It requires a bigger power supply, a more expensive mother board, more expensive RAM chip specs, compared to the Rhyzen 7 5800X3D. All of that hardware upgrade is required just to boot the sim if you are talking about the 7800X3D (compared to older hardware that will boot and run MSFS 2020 and 2024 at a very high level with the 5800X3D).
500 GB storage space: I would say too low. Even 1000 GB is silly considered how dirt cheap a 2TB or even 4TB Nvme drive is these days. We're talking very slightly over $200 for a 4TB drive recommended by Tom's Hardware. And a 2TB is much cheaper yet. My MSFS 2020 is about 1.45 GB already, for the Official and Community folders. I run a 5800X3D which cost me about $270 and MSFS runs on my system at DLSS Quality, Render Preset Ultra, and both LOD's 200 (4070 gpu, 1440p monitor). Frame rates about 70+ at KJFK ground level, and over 100 fps up in air at say 3000 feet.
EDIT: Those fps are using frame generation which doubles my fps everywhere in any scenery.
7800X3D does not use more power than a 5800X3D and certainly does not require a more powerful power supply. It can use less watts than the 5800X3D depending on the game.
Thank you for watching and for such a detailed comment. I wasn't saying people have to run the recommended hardware. More if people want to run it at high to ultra settings at 2K tor 4K resolutions, it should perform fine. Of course, time will tell.
Cheers & Blue Skies!
RTX 5080
Lol...let's hope not. Thanks for watching.
Same story that MSFS gave us about MSFS 2020. Go and see what you needed to run MSFS 2020?
It is extremely disappointing to not see a single mention of improvement to multiplayer model-matching.
So you can pretty much guarantee you will still see F18’s and other fighter jets showing as Airbus a320. Or C17’s as 747’s. Helicopters hovering around as TBM’s, the list goes on and on and it’s absolute dogshit and they’re not doing a damn thing about it.
I agree, this does need addressed. I'm hopeful it's fixed in 2024 but I'm not holding my breath. Cheers!
I'm just glad I won't have to pirate all my add-ons again! Whoops. I meant I won't have to pro-rate all my add-ons again to make sure they are compatible. Almost got myself into a crack there! Erf. Did I say 'crack'. I meant to say I almost got myself into a key generator. I mean fix. I almost got myself in to a fix there. I hope I don't have to download a fix for the latest crack either. What? That's not what I meant! I'm going to get a torrent of criticism for this comment. Did I just say 'torrent'?
Cool guy right here...
@@OCX600RR I get that a lot. People often copy what I write, which I think is a violation. Wait - did I just say copyright violation? That's NOT what I meant!

No thanks , 2024 will just be more eye candy and will have to wait years to fix problems . ill just stick to 2020
2020 should never have been released for single core, just pure laziness and lack of initiative/foresight from Asobo.
Well, I can't disagree, but in the end, as long as they get it right with 2024, it will be good to see. As the old saying, better late than never my friend. Cheers!
Do you spell check your videos? Lmao. Damn.
Yeah, had a few boo-boos

Da-mmit, can you just get to the bloody point next time with a title like "New Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 H A R D W A R E R E Q U I R E M E N T S " ?😡
Well in my defense, I also had "Features | FAQs | & More!" in the title. :) Cheers!
🤣 someone didn’t expand the title 😂😂
No feedback on whether it will work for Xbox series x or s. That's par for the course!! Always catering to People who can afford high end computers and not the average simulator user!! Disgusting!!😡

nice click bait pal lol , this is YOUR anticipated requirements, as should you title the video...this it NOT the official requirements.

As sf is a simmer and puter dude I personally want his advice vrs some dude who knows Jack sh?? As this channel has always guided myself and others in the right direction when it comes to flight swimming.
Spend, spend, spend. Money Making, but hey you're rich and nothing to do. If you make that kinda doe, purchase a real plane. smh
looks to me like another kids video game and this is getting further away from core flight simultion with all the gimics missions etc, and if this is the case then i certainly will not buy. cash grab more than anything else
I get what you are saying. I have been simming since the first version of XP and MSFS, even SubLogic. I for one have liked the changes and some of these added features to bring more life and objectives to the sim, gets more people interested which is good for all of us. I think it's a good thing imho. But I do get what you are saying my friend.
