I’m having such a good time with the MSFS in my Xbox series X that I don’t want to worry about building a $3,000.00 PC. I know the PC with an RTX 40xx will be better, but the difference in quality and options don’t justify paying that much for a PC only to play the game.
It's unreal that I absolutely loved this back on the Commodore 64 days, loading from a huge floppy disc, which took about 6-7+ minutes. And simply little sticks for a few Chicago skyline. Simple back then, but still loved it!
@@ThatGuyInPhilly Yea, same. And before that the Vic 20. Tandy I believe had a FS also. Played it, but forget the exact computer since it was on a neighbor's computer. Just had the runway lines, a simple HUD and a horizon line.
Old post I know, but I’m a DCS World pilot and I love talking to other pilots/virtual pilots. I have a nice VKB hotas setup but I’m looking into getting a set of rudder pedals. I keep going back and forth between the Virpil ACE Interceptors, Slaw and Thrustmaster TPR’s. What pedals are you using with your setup?
Me too. Started my flight sim journey on a C64 with A.C.E (Cascade Games) on cassette. I still have that game in original condition and it still loads. I still enjoy it on my C64 rig today.
Nice comparison, I came to the same conclusion at the end of last year and bought the Xbox Series X and the full Turtle Beach VelocityOne setup, with the yoke, quadrant and rudder pedals. I didn't want to sink 4-5k USD in a PC and top of the range graphics card straightaway. I still have the option to do that and retain the controller setup. What would be good is to estimate a PC setup that would equal the Xbox series X in terms of performance, but would give you the flexibility of a PC setup in terms of add-ons like VATSIM and an upgrade path.
I have the same setup as you except peddals, but would be nice to buy garmin g1000 setup that is available only for PC. But for becoming a real pilot xbox with yoke is more than enough.
The main thing is the hardware. If you're serious about simming, PC is the only way to go. More options for yoke and throttles, multiple screens, VATSim, modifications, home cockpit, VR, etc.
For $500 you still can't beat what the Xbox Series X power can do. You would need to spend about $1,500 on a PC to get what the Xbox Series X gives you for $500! I'm happy playing shooter games at 1440p@120fps for $500.
@@JohnnyPerth I have never been a PC gamer and I know with shooters you need a keyboard and mouse to have the accuracy advantage over controller players and all the cheaters and hackers are on PC! No thanks!

Thanks for the great comparison. I’ve been flight simming for years and like you I enjoy the “beauty” of the views. I used to build PCs to push what I could get out of FSX etc and would tinker for hours trying to get the “best” settings, instead of just enjoying what I had. Clearly the PC version had superior clarity, but to your point was it worth 6x the cost, and the cost of the time you invested tinkering to achieve that performance? Not sure it would be worth it for me. I may pick up an Xbox series x simply because it doesn’t have all the options that would lead me down the path of tweaking things instead of just enjoying and playing.
Glad you enjoyed it! It does take bit of time to tweak the settings based on your set up to get the best experience, but I enjoy that part of it. Once everything is set, there is not much need to change anything (not saying I don't try). I did recently force myself to turn off the fps counter and it make everything smoother now lol.
this is the best comparison video I've seen. Because of budget, I'm going to be an xBox guy. but this video helps me feel more comfortable with my choice. I did use MSFS earlier in the 2000's but have taken a long break. Thank you!
While the PC version clearly won, as it should given the difference in hardware, at a certain point you mentioned colours looking more saturated on Xbox, more 'accurate' on PC, but you very clearly had the two versions running with the Sun at different positions in the sky: Examining a still frame at 6:35, the planes were flying approximately north, from the Verazanno Bridge (I think?) at the mouth of the Atlantic Ocean towards Manhattan. On Xbox, the Sun appears to be on the left, behind the aircraft, and low in the sky, casting a shadow of the tail on the planes left side. On PC the Sun is very clearly not in the same position, not casting a shadow of the tail, just of some of the left side, suggesting it's higher in the sky and lest to the plane's right. The two clips were taken either at a different time of day or the same time of day at a different time of year on the game's calendar/clock. Upshot is the Xbox sky is more red, the PC sky is more blue, slightly different weather going on in both given the cloud configuration, too, with a near clear sky on PC, and some light whisps on Xbox. This was the reason your Statue of Liberty looked a different colour on Xbox. The light was different due to the Sun being in a different position in the sky. I'm not sure we can draw any conclusions about the accuracy of the colours from this, and as far as I know there IS no real difference between the colours on the two versions, and shouldn't really appear different if used on the same monitor.
Thanks for the review. Very nice job. I was born in Buffalo too (Amherst) and enjoyed seeing the differences of the downtown area as I wondered on my Xbox series x where the downtown buildings went and how flat the stadium was. But bummed about Bills failure to reach the Super Bowl.
Can you do a second review comparing the controller options and screen options between the pc and Xbox? Ie are the Thrustmaster controllers on Xbox good enough or do the high end controllers available for pc make a significant difference. Also single Xbox screen vs multi pc screen configs or vr options.
Very well made video. I just got an Xbox Series X and your video has convinced me, as a more casual Flight Simulator pilot, that I can confidently buy MS Flight Simulator for the Xbox. Thanks again.
2:31 where did you get the replacement spring? I’m having the same issue and want to add more resistance, would be awesome if you made a video, thanks!
Awesome video! I'm going to go the PC route. I appreciate the attention to detail and amount of info that you give here. Oh, for the record, in NY, you were flying up the East River, not the Hudson, which is west of Manhattan :-)

A top end pc is better than a Series X but is it 6 times better.... A series X is an excellent price point to jump into this sim :) Liked and subscribed :)
Thanks for all the work you put into this excellent comparison. The extra sharpness/clarity on the PC is what I want! You've helped me make the decision. I subscribed and liked. Thanks again.
Ouch, as a Xbox series series x owner after watching your comparison. it kinda disappointed now. Especially seeing a quite a few flat pancakes structures. i'm not saying i want the same detail obviosity the PC has better graphics card and faster. At least no pancake designs at least and a patch a little detail or don't even offer it for Xbox series x at all. PC exclusive only for MFS. Anyways great comparison and thank you im going to return my game.
Great video! I've always wanted to play mfs on my series x but couldn't due to storage. I now have the 2tb expansion card and man was the wait so worth it! Is there difference or improvement with mfs from ur video (2022) to now 2024? Bcos I've downloaded the game on my Xbox with extra dlc from within the game
I played MSFS since version 4.0 on pc, but I like playing it on the Xbox SX now. because I don't have to worry about "will my computer run this" anymore.
@@mzgarageI would suggest to turn off HDR in the settings, it makes everything to bright right now, best solution is Dolby vision activated and HDR inside the sim turned off
I had it turned on the Xbox because I only used the Xbox on my TV prior to making this comparison. This actually made it difficult to process the captured footage from the Xbox. I have it turned off on the PC as my monitor does not support HDR 10, it has its own proprietary "HDR". When I used the HDR on my TCL TV on the Xbox I think it looked pretty good, I didn't see a huge different with it on vs off.
I will say as a guy who used an old dell laptop as a kid playing msfs 2010. Than upgrading maybe a year and a half ago. I’m more than thrilled with the quality I get. Yes sometimes fps at bigger airports and traffic is more but still was way better than what I was ever Accustomed too. Also not a pc expert so series X makes it very easy to setup get right in game
Disappointed on review captures. Simulator you fly in side an aircraft not out side as a chase plane view. So would have like to see the real point of view.
Yea, that is a good point. I should have showed more in cockpit footage. I will say that in my opinion the difference in the cockpit was less noticeable compared to the scenery.
Thank you for the comparison, I started on series x and picked up a pc on sale i5 13 gen, Rtx 3060 12 Gb with 32 GB RAM. PC version looks terrible compared to my series X. I am thinking of returning the PC now and will stick with series X.
It's clear that PC is superior in every way outside of price. When it comes to visuals, performance, the myriad of peripherals ie: joysticks, throttles, yolks not to mention dials, switches MFD's, etc along with VR makes PC a clearly more immersive experience. No one in their right mind would choose an Xbox over a PC when it comes to flight simulation. While I think it's great that console players can enjoy MSFS, by no means is it even a fair comparison.
Great video, very detailed and understandable! Please allow me the question, if I need to pay for the Xbox, if I am never using a console, but just my pc? I bought the full edition of the sim.
@@mzgarage Thanks for your quick reply. I had purchased the full version of the MSFS 2020 and realize now that the system asks me to continue the Xbox abo. This means an additional cost of those ~ 10 bucks a month. Would I have to own the Steam version to not pay for the Xbox, just using the pc?
@@mzgarage ok understood. 🙏 I will try this out. I do have the Xbox version of the game, not the Steam. My question came up when the Xbox suddenly kept reminding me to continue their abo….
Great work on this video. Such a good point about the quality of the PC making a big difference in performance. You said you liked to fiddle with settings. Another good point. I don’t. The Xbox is what I have. Will just stick with it.
Personally, i want 60 fps at least most of the time. Simulation for me is about immersion. When you pan the camera on 30 fps the immersion is gone. I dont get why its always say "in a simulator you dont need high fps". It seems to me that people only justify that common hardware is often not capable to get you decent fps in MSFS. After all i dont get why you would want to use an Xbox for Flight Simulator?! Press X to Land.
I agree. Perhaps I should have specified a number. From my experience 60fps is great in MSFS. When I said high frame rates, I was referring to other gams like first person shooters when people want 150+fps. I don't think that's necessary.
I use Xbox with over 400 AddOns, they works great, may be a few loadingproblems and CTDs, but not more than on a PC. Therefore never had problems with folders and missing files. Neaple looks in 2024 with a few addons at my box better then both you've shown in your video. But thanks, your video is great, best comparison!
I got a brand new Xbox series x in white. It has no disk drive so I have to stream games good thing is that I have very fast and good wifi so that helps hopefully I can fly a airbus beluga with no lag or crashing
Interesting comparison but I would hope $3k pc is better than $500 xbox - went down Xbox X route myself as my old pc which I ran FSx okay on would not even load 2020 & no regrets for the money - games runs very smoothly with good detail. Pair up the xbox with the Hotas joystick, keyboard & mouse & you have the same near enough. I acknowledge you do miss out on freeware but I am happy to compromise on that. Not sure $500 would even buy you the graphics card in your rig? We are even getting the PMDG 737comimg out on xbox next month which is even better news. At the time I estimated I would need to spend at least $2k to equal the xbox?
Yes, the Xbox is a real value. The graphics card in my PC )RTX 3090) still sells for over $1200 on a good day. Yes, I would say $1500 min to get close to the level of an Xbox which has come down quite bit compared to a few years ago with the graphics card shortage. The card I have in 2020-21 was going for $3000.
PC wins everything, completely see what you mean about saturation level on XBox but for £1500 cheaper it's still a no brainer. What a fantastic comparison video ❤ Also another TH-cam Sim Hanger Flight, does similar to you... I'm impressed by your content 👏 👌
Thank you! Yea, I deff like the PC better, but its clearly not worth it if dollar for dollar. I have watched many of the Sim Hanger videos, they are awesome!
Hi there. Thank you so much for doing this. I've been on the internet for hours trying to figure this out until I finally came across your video. Looks like X-box is the choice for me as the PC is too much money and work. I love the sharper images on the PC but just don't think it's worth it. Thanks once again!
@@mzgarage One more question, my nephew told me that even if I get an X-box, I would need to buy a separate monitor as opposed to using my TV. He said I could play on my TV, but the graphics will take a major hit. He's only 15 so I'm not sure how much he really knows what he's talking about. Any thoughts?
It depends on the TV. On the Xbox, its renders the sim at 1440 and upscales it to 4k. The fps from the Xbox (on MSFS specifically) are limited to 30fps unless you have a 120hz panel with variable refresh rate. Many of the newer TVs do have this feature for gaming. I used the Xbox on my TCL 6 series 625 (2019 model) with 60hz panel (no VRR) and was happy with it. You won't feel like you are missing something until you use something better in my opinion.
Great comparison. After spending about 700€ on a Series S, VF1 yoke and a wireless keyboard I have the ultimate FS experience. According to your footage, the XBox is at least as good as your ultra spec PC. And zero time lost on tweaking, installing, troubleshooting and endless irritation.
I would argue its not just as good. Perhaps video compressed it, or it was watch at less than 4K? You can see more detail on the PC, but for the price the Xbox is excellent and consistent.
Great comparison! It would also be interesting to see a comparison in 2k. Clearly for the rtx 3090 you would not see any difference compared to 4k but probably for the Xbox you could find out if there are several more details in the scenarios due to the lower stress of the internal graphics processor lower than the rtx 3090.
4k is all that matters it’s 2023 man 4k 120 hz tvs are cheap and 4k oled gaming monitors are affordable now. Anyone getting into 1440p should only be doing so at 360hz competitive gaming monitors… if your not going with super high refresh it’s 4k time such a huge difference..
I have not made a video on it yet. It's pretty easy to do. You just have to replace the spring with a stiffer one. You can also put adhesive velco on the base of the throttle that increases resistance where it slides into the base.
it all boils down to one thing. PC is better, period. BUT this PC costs 6 times more than an xbox, but it does not give you 6 times better graphics. For me the only downturn on xbox is the lacking of VR.
The flight simulator runs at less than 30 fps on my xsx.Is somethin wrong? I only recently acquired an xbox last week, would be really helpful if someone could comment on this.
@@videogameclips6100 When I have good internet connection it usually is. It's very network demanding. You could try playing offline to see if it's still like that.
Yes, it will be exciting to see. This last generation really stepped it up. I would not be suprised to see the price jump $100-200 as everything seems to increasing. Hopefully nowhere near $1000.
I seriously considered the Xbox, but I have so much money invested in Honeycomb & Logitech controls (including a Logitech FIP 6 pack, 2 radio panels, the Switch Panel, Multi Panel) it is just not an option for me and I don't feel like selling all my gear at what would be a downgrade in my cockpit setup.
Actually i did the same thing. Had the xbox series X with all the bells and whistles and sold it and started rebuilding my old gaming pc which had a i7 6700k / GTX 1080.
I have a dell xps 9560 laptop with I7 7700H and GTX 1060, but I did not have much luck running it on it, but it's a laptop and not really comparable. I would think that the series X may perform better than your PC, but you can always upgrade one part at a time.
@@mzgarage At the moment it does which I have the the i5 13600k paired with the gtx 1080 but once i switch out the gpu it’s going to be lit. My cpu is there but my gpu is lacking and I’ll be doing mostly 1440p gaming at 120 - 144hz Also I had the Xbox series x it was nice but I wanted to go the pc route fully
Thanks for the video but I am not sure what its purpose was? There is absolutely no way to compare a game console to a PC with a high resolution video card. Seems like a waste of time to even try to compare the two, Xbox isnt trying to compete with a PC
For myself, I bought an Xbox for MSFS only. It was the first time I purchased a video game console in my life at the age of 31. A year later I was going to buy a PC for video editing and was curious to see how it performs with a powerful CPU and GPU. I was a minimum going to get a 3070, but the 3090 was on sale then for a few hundred more so I figured why not. After running the sim on both, I sold the Xbox since that was the only thing I used it for. I know it's not a fair comparison, but it seemed interesting to me as this was the first time it was available on console.
Sadly the Xbox has no chance for me as on PC I can play in VR. Microsoft really need to release a VR headset or make a deal with Meta because VR is coming whether they want it or not and it's starting to influence purchasing decisions. If you've never tried MSFS in VR well... don't try it as it will ruin it for you unless you can get it for yourself :D
I am sorry but don't get this comparison, everyday will know a $2.5k PC is going to do a better job than a $500 console! the choice is money, if you can afford a decent PC and want to play the game at its optimum that's the route, if you don't have that budget but enjoy MSFS the Xbox is fine.
"It's not a gaming computer, but it's a very powerful computer." It being a powerful computer makes it a gaming computer. Could you please define what you meant by it not being a gaming computer? I'm really curious. Is it missing something? For $3,000, if it's not suitable for gaming, I'd want my money back. Maybe review bomb the site that sold me that thing in the first place. I'm serious, though. Please clarify. I'm now starting to question my own judgment.
When I said it's not a gaming computer, I meant it is not marketed as a gaming computer. The specs are very high. I do used the gaming driver for the RTX 3090. There are other variants of the CPU that geared more to gaming, but this is highest one sold it a XPS desktop. The games are on a Samsung 980 SSD. It has a liquid cooled CPU. It is very comparable to a high-end gaming PC, but just not marketed as one.
You've summed it up well, sir. It all depends on what level of experience one desires. Of course, the console is the new player in town, but for any of us that have been with FS forever; the PC is the only tool we will use.
Depends I had a high end pc but switched to xbox series x because I can't stand sitting all day on a chair instead playing from my bed . It's much more comfortable.and yes I know about steam big picture, but the xbox is still much more comfortable. Pc is good for rpgs, strategy games etc. But for adventure games you should get a xbox
A lot of the negatives on the Xbox are due to recent downgrades to the LOD. In SU10 the Xbox version was practically identical to the maxed PC version. Since then the rendering distance on Xbox was significantly reduced, resulting in the current mess. Also, I would way that it seems you’ve somewhat desaturated the footage on Xbox. The colours and lighting on the Xbox version are vibrant and equal to the PC version here but in your video they appear muted in your Xbox footage. I’m assuming this was accidental.
Yes, I am glad I am not the only one who noticed the decrease in LOD with SU10. I was amazed with the Xbox when I got it, but had not gone back to it in a month or so once I got a PC and that was right after SU10. I did not edit the color in any of the footage, but like I mentioned in the video there are many variables from capture, edit render, and upload. In my opinion I think the Xbox footage look more saturated. The Xbox footage was recorded with HRD on, which the way the editing software interprets the codec may make some changes on its own.
I found this video because I have some questions.. I think this video substantially clarified my questions but.. I will still ask you guys.. I obviously noticed a huge difference in graphics and details between a high end pc and even the xbox sx.. is it only because the obvious difference in GPU or is it also because the console game is free on the xbox game pass and therefore they give a watered down version on console? In other words if I was to actually buy the game on the xbox store would it have a higher graphic accuracy? I doubt it but I thought I would ask (snice there are many games on console that look 1000% better than FS on console as far as accuracy and precision of buildings and landscape)?
Your first point is correct. It just comes down to graphical/computing power. While the Xbox series x/s are incredible machines for the price, they cannot compete with higher end computers. In addition, the graphic settings on the Xbox are locked, so you really can't give or take from certain areas to get the experience you want. I am using MSFS through game pass in this video on both the Xbox and pc, that would not make a difference. MSFS is probably one of the most power hungry games/sims to run and that is why it had to be toned down to run smoothly on the Xbox. I can get 30-40 fps in high populated ares ie. airports and big cities on my PC with ultra settings and while playing Forza Horizon 5 in extreme settings I am getting 80-90fps.
@MZ's Garage I just saw a video from another TH-camr that even the rtx 4090 struggles in certain scenarios..42..44 fps (yes at max settings).. this tells me that we are lucky that this game even runs on a console no matter at what settings
I wonder if he was using the frame generation? I would think he would be getting much higher than the low 40's, but perhaps the quality is not as good. I like using the DLSS Quality setting which renders it at 1440p and then upscales it. It's hard for me see any loss of quality, but I enjoy the slight fps boost.
This wasn't mean to be a value comparison. I say right in the video that the PC is not 6x better. I just wanted to make a comparison when I finally has a PC that would run MSFS 2020 really well. In fact, to your point, I felt like I had to spend this much on a PC to ensure it would be a notable improvement to the Xbox as far a graphical quality.
This is a lie. As your using mods on pc that are not part of the actual game, and NYC looks like the pc version on my game if not better as your not using HDR on the Xbox at all, reson to why is gray out
I believe one large difference is on XBOX I can not set "Ultra" settings at all. But on PC one can switch between Ultra and High to Medium. I think the Xbox is crippled at times because of this. Even with a fast internet & decent monitor it's stuck on maybe High settings but rarely notice ultra graphic settings on Xbox in my opinion.
Yea, as I showed in the video the Xbox does not allow for any changes in the graphics settings, but I think they did a good job of balance performance and quality except for SU11 were there seemed to be bid decrease in quality. Prior to that the Xbox looked very good. I would agree that the Xbox is somewhere around the "high" settings as far as level of detail, but there are many other settings on the PC that can be adjusted.
I would argue that. You may be able to beat it by a little, but not much. Perhaps if you bought a used GPU, but 3090's are going for $1500 alone still. That is half the cost.
@FABRIZIOZPH no you can't but can be much less that 3000. You don't need a 3090 to beat the console version in performance and visually. 3090 is just what he used. Also he probably using an expensive cpu and you only need something like a ryzen 5 3600.
I mean I would buy An Xbox Series X bc I have seen many reviews and graphics are great, and it shows very little difference between the Xbox series x and RTX 3090 so I’ll just buy an Xbox instead of a 4000 dollar pc

this is the best comparison video I've seen. Because of budget, I'm going to be an xBox guy. but this video helps me feel more comfortable with my choice. I did use MSFS earlier in the 2000's but have taken a long break. Thank you!
Glad I could help! Thank you
While the PC version clearly won, as it should given the difference in hardware, at a certain point you mentioned colours looking more saturated on Xbox, more 'accurate' on PC, but you very clearly had the two versions running with the Sun at different positions in the sky:
Examining a still frame at 6:35, the planes were flying approximately north, from the Verazanno Bridge (I think?) at the mouth of the Atlantic Ocean towards Manhattan.
Thank you! Yea I wasn't happy when I saw how bad Buffalo looked on the xbox either..... and I may have jinxed the Bills lol
May have missed it...did you have Photogrammetry turned on or off in your example? Have tried both and haven't decided yet which I like better
Yes, it was turned on. I like it better.
Can we put mods for xbox series x like the PC version? Or at least can we do something more to increase the game quality?
Can you do a second review comparing the controller options and screen options between the pc and Xbox? Ie are the Thrustmaster controllers on Xbox good enough or do the high end controllers available for pc make a significant difference. Also single Xbox screen vs multi pc screen configs or vr options.
i would love to compare all of that stuff, but unfortunately I only have the Hotas 1
There is an Issue with your Internet connection on your XBOX. The Buildings in London do NOT look that softened normally.
I am not sure that is the issue. I had a direct wired connection at 300mbps, that is plenty fast enough.
London buildings are notoriously awful. As is Toronto.
I took it to my local hardware store and wend through the bins until I found one that was a similar size but stiffer.
Awesome video! I'm going to go the PC route. I appreciate the attention to detail and amount of info that you give here. Oh, for the record, in NY, you were flying up the East River, not the Hudson, which is west of Manhattan :-)
Haha, very true, I was still going parallel to it lol. I didn't realize each was named differently, I though it just split.
The PC version is no doubt superior if you could afford it. The best part of the PC platform you have an array of addons to choose from!
I obviously agree. Have you ever used VR? I really want to try on the sim.
Facts, Flight sim is one of the games that really shows the power between PC and console.
@@mzgarage I know a guy who is really into flight sims, including MSFS. He has all the flight gadgets AND has gone through three VR units. He says you give up too much using VR and has gone back to his TrackIR.
Fantastic job! Thanks for all your effort in making this video.
A top end pc is better than a Series X but is it 6 times better....
A series X is an excellent price point to jump into this sim :)
Liked and subscribed :)
Have you tried the Cloud option? Would be nice to see a comparison video :)
Thanks for all the work you put into this excellent comparison. The extra sharpness/clarity on the PC is what I want! You've helped me make the decision. I subscribed and liked. Thanks again.
Thanks! I am glad it helped. Yes, if value is not what you are looking for, then go with a PC for sure!
Thank you. As I embark on this I am glad I have some perspective. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It helped a great deal!
I'm glad it helped!
The series x looks crazy good. Let's be honest, nothing better you can buy for 500 bucks.
Absolutely 👍
@@mzgarageI would suggest to turn off HDR in the settings, it makes everything to bright right now, best solution is Dolby vision activated and HDR inside the sim turned off
I had it turned on the Xbox because I only used the Xbox on my TV prior to making this comparison. This actually made it difficult to process the captured footage from the Xbox. I have it turned off on the PC as my monitor does not support HDR 10, it has its own proprietary "HDR". When I used the HDR on my TCL TV on the Xbox I think it looked pretty good, I didn't see a huge different with it on vs off.
thks for this nice video , i was not able to find the Thrustmaster modification video , thks for help.
Thanks! Unfortunately, I have not go around to making a video on the mod yet.
You're welcom. Yea, you really need a high powered PC to outrun an xbox.
Greatness is the only word to describe this video , thanks a lot
Wow, thanks!
Great video, very detailed and understandable!
Please allow me the question, if I need to pay for the Xbox, if I am never using a console, but just my pc? I bought the full edition of the sim.
Thanks! I am a little confused by your question. What exactly are you asking if you have to pay for?
@@mzgarage Thanks for your quick reply. I had purchased the full version of the MSFS 2020 and realize now that the system asks me to continue the Xbox abo. This means an additional cost of those ~ 10 bucks a month. Would I have to own the Steam version to not pay for the Xbox, just using the pc?
If you purchased the full version from Microsoft you do not need to purchase anything else. You should already have a microsoft/Xbox account.
Great video. Really shows the comparison between two operating systems. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
That was the Tower Bridger, not the London Bridge.
@@mzgarageimo 30 fps is fine for mfs2020 looks very smooth on the series x
What about remote gaming via platforms like Splashtop or Parsec???
I am not familiar with either. I doubt they would run MSFS.
i hope it runs better with 2024fs i have a monster of a pc and performance is lacking sometimes.
I absolutely agree!
What about helicopter controls for xbox?
I use Xbox with over 400 AddOns, they works great, may be a few loadingproblems and CTDs, but not more than on a PC. Therefore never had problems with folders and missing files. Neaple looks in 2024 with a few addons at my box better then both you've shown in your video. But thanks, your video is great, best comparison!
Thank you! I can't wait to try 2024.
@@mzgarage Nevertheless I hope for a new Box with more Ram, XBoxX has only 10 GB.
I got a brand new Xbox series x in white. It has no disk drive so I have to stream games good thing is that I have very fast and good wifi so that helps hopefully I can fly a airbus beluga with no lag or crashing
@@JustAlexB270 But you have internal SSD with 1 TB to store games, so you can play other games (not FS) also offline.
Glad it helped!
Thank you, by far it is the best video comparing XBOX & PC
Wow, thank you!
Comparing a ferrari to a Robin reliant. I'd rather pay $500 for the series x than 2.5k for a pc..Also what is your connection speed ?
Great comparison. After spending about 700€ on a Series S, VF1 yoke and a wireless keyboard I have the ultimate FS experience. According to your footage, the XBox is at least as good as your ultra spec PC. And zero time lost on tweaking, installing, troubleshooting and endless irritation.
I would argue its not just as good. Perhaps video compressed it, or it was watch at less than 4K? You can see more detail on the PC, but for the price the Xbox is excellent and consistent.
I would buy a VRR oled display for the money and enjoy unlocked framerate.
Yea, I wish I had an OLED, but it still great!
It is all about fun really, you dont need 3 k pc to enjoy this game
A quick question, I normally Use TM T16000M with my PC sims, but how is the Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas 1 on the Xbox?
I used it on the Xbox while I had it, but I have nothing to compare it to. I use it on the PC as well. No issues on either.
@@JoeWayne84 Its not running 4k on consoles. Most likely close to 1440p scaled up.
What a cool video.Thank you so much
If you want realism you have to go with PC and get VR, a good yoke system, peddles, etc...
I get really good performance with my Xbox. I have over 200 add-ons the only setting I get performance hits is using live traffic.
What add-ons are available on the Xbox for Flight Simulator?
Did I miss the link that shows how to fix the loose throttle?
It runs at 30fps on both series s and x
@@mzgarage Not on mine,And i bought mine only last week.
Mine runs beautifully on the series s. Probably not as good as the pc and the series x, but I have not noticed any frame loss.

Not a really fair comparison. Why you pimped the pc version with free addons to compare with the default xbox version🤷🏻♂️
There was only two add-ons that I talked about, but I think that is something to consider when comparing them.
Curious how the next generation of Xbox will be like and pricing 👀 hopefully they keep these consoles under the 1k mark
Yes, it will be exciting to see. This last generation really stepped it up. I would not be suprised to see the price jump $100-200 as everything seems to increasing. Hopefully nowhere near $1000.
bang for buck - Xbox - I actually prefer the not so over sharpened image the pc renders - and the dynamic range seems better on all xbox shots.
What is the price defference Xbox vs pc?
Did you watch the video? I mentioned several time $3000 vs $500

Yes
Why don't I have the option to turn HDHR10 on with my Xbox series X?
Your TV may not have the HDR10 option?
@@mzgarage I believe that's the case... What a freak'n bummer. My flight simulator looks like garbage because of that fact, too.
Seriously your asking which one is better Xbox or PC ??? wich one is better a Scooter or a Ferrari ?!
Yea, if you have all the peripherals, PC is the way to go!
Can you crack plugins on the xbox version?
I don't believe so.
Have both. Fps Xbox is better. Stability an content PC is better. I have a new PC upper mid range get 42-53 fps.
If you have 1500 lying around and 20 hours a month for maintenance and tweaking both systems are equal.
No need and I am using the PC version.
@@caribbaviator7058 But not your brain.
What is 20 hours a month for maintenance in regard to?
Excellent comparison!

Is the pc worth the 2500 more? I dont think so
Nope definitely not.
If MSFS is the only thing you will ever play then No. If you plan on gaming as a whole then yes.
My cpu is there but my gpu is lacking and I’ll be doing mostly 1440p gaming at 120 - 144hz
Also I had the Xbox series x it was nice but I wanted to go the pc route fully
I subbed because like you, I fly rc and sims. Great video!
Thanks and thanks for the sub!
Leading question, your honor!
This test is fair because the rtx 3090 has 24 gigs of gddr6 while the Xbox only has 16 gigs of gddr6
Im saving for a Series X and msfs to it
My new LG 65" C3 with 4K and 120 Hz, HDR and Dolby Vision and the XBox Series X fly in next week.
I am looking forward.
@@WHOWEARE85 Ima get a Thrustmaster T flight hotas one
Honestly review. I would buy myself an Xbox x. And hope to enjoy this game and many others I don’t can buy on PlayStation
Pc also gets google maps and not bing
I have never tried the google maps, have you? I have heard mixed reviews.
Depends what you want. No hassle free flying, xbox x. Mire choices and devices, pc😅
You've summed it up well, sir. It all depends on what level of experience one desires. Of course, the console is the new player in town, but for any of us that have been with FS forever; the PC is the only tool we will use.
I have been with MSFS since 2002 and switched to XBOX. Same experience with a proper setup, much much smoother then on a 2 K PC.
Pc all the way... and I have both.... BUT if you cant afford a pc , xbox does a pretty good job . But when you switch on pc you will never go back.
Absolutely agree!
@@mzgarage that's what I thought, thank you.
It's hard for me see any loss of quality, but I enjoy the slight fps boost.
xbox more vivid colors but they same i don't see diffrence
nice review
Thanks!
No VR no buy
PC always the best. But very impressive with xbox. Good job Microsoft 👏 👍
The Xbox version looks oversaturated because of hdr10
That may have been it. I do remember compared it on and off when I was using it on my TV and did not notice too much of a difference.
What a surprise, the $900 graphics card beats the $600 console. I mean im a PC gamer but come on, is this really fair?
This wasn't mean to be a value comparison. I say right in the video that the PC is not 6x better. I just wanted to make a comparison when I finally has a PC that would run MSFS 2020 really well. In fact, to your point, I felt like I had to spend this much on a PC to ensure it would be a notable improvement to the Xbox as far a graphical quality.
This is a lie. As your using mods on pc that are not part of the actual game, and NYC looks like the pc version on my game if not better as your not using HDR on the Xbox at all, reson to why is gray out
Hmmm how weird.
Imagine that a sim looks better on a machine that cost 5x as much as the Series X.
You could build a killer PC for a lot less than that.
I would argue that. You may be able to beat it by a little, but not much. Perhaps if you bought a used GPU, but 3090's are going for $1500 alone still. That is half the cost.
Uhm.. you cant build a pc better than the series x for the same money..
@@dusermiginte4647 you can build a pc for $500 that is better than the xobox sx? I doubt it
@@FABRIZIOZPH yeah, glad you agree.. ;)
