Fitting CBR Forks On Honda CB1100F!

- In this video we are starting on a new build which is a 1983 Honda CB1100F on which we are fitting modern CBR suspension. Step one is to fit the new forks by means of extending the stem. Luckily The stock bearings are the exact size needed so this was a relatively easy swap.
Next episode will focus on the rear swingarm.

Were really excited about this build and I hope you are too! Please remember that progress may be slow as it is an after hours sort of thing so we can't put consistent time to it. Restomods are my favorite!
Excited to see Seth's project !!!.
I needle roller convert all my bikes ( swing arm) and tapered roller head bearings. Race Tech valves too. Love old naked restomods
This is going to be good, I like the old and newer mix, better suspension and brakes is always good 👍🏻
Cant wait to see the finished product! When two great minds are working together, the outcome is mind blowing! ❤ All U DO!!
@@DebraHampton-z9g thank you!
My everyday runner back in the mid 90's was a 1983 CB900F I have nothing but good memories of that old scooter! Now I'm fully invested in two of your builds, the CBX & this one :-)
Note to self: build a storage rack for press plates and spacers. 😁
@@terrynixon8152 on the list lol
details like sleeving the extension, i love that kind quality. Nice work as usual. Respect
Really Looking forward to seeing This Project , I love the CB 1100 Honda , Great Job Guy's.
Absolutely can't wait for more episodes! Restomod is perfect for this project. Stuff like this is exactly what we would have done to our bikes back in the day anyway! Don't get me wrong, unfortunately a huge majority of people ruin classic bikes by "improving" them, and some bikes (like your CBX) it would be criminal to overtly muck with, but with the prudent application of tasteful part swaps and addition/subtractions, sometimes a fantastic vision can be achieved if owners have their hearts in it. You guys have the heart and vision as we always see. Three cheers!
Looking forward to each video on this build. Its going to be a beauty.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!! Easily my favorite project that you've ever done. Please keep it up! You're doing great stuff.
🤘🤘
Looking good😊
This is going to be a sick bike
This Content is GOLD 🔥🚀
Glad you enjoyed 🙏
Going to be a great bike. Enjoy the week end
Cool project!
Very cool project. Love it
Very interesting build this is one I’ll follow for sure! Always wanted a 1100f this might make me buy one! Like to see y’all finish this one asap
I wish we could work on it more
More fantastic content (which I'm watching wearing my new BHB hoodie 😀).
Looking forward to seeing the progress on this build.
Hell yeah! 🤘
Just recently picked up a cb900c engine! Been keeping an eye out for a frame! Love these kind of Frankenstein builds!
Nice!
Nice work! Never thought about welding the stem to lengthen it. Keep up the good work!
cant wait for the next video... looks beast already
I was a big fan of the CB900F and 1100F.
still am
Looks like this is going to awesome build. Really interested in seeing rear swing arm installed , and roller status. Looks great so far.
That build will be awesome, big thanks guys!!!
Now that is a build!! The kind of stuff that makes it interesting. If you lower the rear the same amount as you lost on the front the rake will stay the same. Then the only issue is travel, will the dust covers hit the triple tree? Good stuff!
This is only the beginning stages of mocking up. Lots of stuff to do before we worry about geometry
Leaving a comment so I can bump the channel in the algorithm
Thank you
Love this $$$$$$$$Build$$$$$$. I'm attempting to do a triple from my 91gsxr forks on to a 78 cx500, please build us another great video build big Thanks you two
great stuff!
Love those tail sections with the built in spoiler.
The FJ11/1200 had them too. Sexy af
Cool project. Story of my life, spindle hole on my Atlas is .757. I somehow managed to get by since 1983 with it but I'm guilty of extending out instead of setting up my steady rest.
Very cool
I really enjoyed this and you guys rock!
What a cool build. I was just looking at allballsracing forkconversion and also classifiedmoto.
Just know that a stem swap is not always necessary. I've fit many forks directly on with just bearings.
Thought this was my chance to leave a comment saying "first" on YT for the first time of my life. However BJ and some random bot already left a comment. Do those count or am I technically still the first? I don't know.
Anyways BJ I love your content, I honestly learned a lot from this channeland love watching your builds turn into nice bikes! Keep it up!
The bots are terrible man. I delete them and block many with each video. Your first counts 😉
At 6:49 All this job without cleaning the foundry defects on the lower yoke !
What defects?
Is that the new GP 1100F?👌
I wonder if you need longer fork tubes. You've got about 4" there but once loaded with static sag it'll be 3" , that's not enough.
I had a CBR1100F, and it was a fun bike. You said it was a one year only? I could be mistaken, but I thought it was a 2 year bike, at least a far as a USDM model.
The cb1100f is yes
That fork is going to bottom fork seals to lower tree 😮 have to space something. Those forks probably have 5" travel.
How often do you use 5 inches of travel on the street?
Looking great, but I personally wouldn't trust this welded stem and also looks like forks will bottom out into the lower triple clamp.
The stem is as strong as can be. It's solid. As mentioned, we are looking into extensions
Wat is de graden van de vork en de naloop?
Nothing is set yet. That will come
