One thing, the Dark Eldar are not corrupted by Slaanesh. They fiercely oppose Slaanesh and Chaos worship. The reason they torture lifeforms (besides enjoying it) is because it staves off the leeching effect Slaanesh has over them. Here's a cool little lore excerpt of some DE meeting Daemonettes and being freaked out: At last, they drew close to the command deck. The leaders of the raiding parties had each taken part in the sacking of vessels of this kind before, and thus were able to summon intimate knowledge of their construction from memory. Just a few passageways more, and they would find the nerve centre of the warship. As another heavy bulkhead rolled aside in a rumble of clumsy hydraulics, the dark eldar skidded to a halt. They arrived to stand in a corridor plunged into utter darkness, unsettlingly silent after the gauntlet of light and noise they had passed through. It was beyond any natural darkness, the visors of their elongated helms powerless to pierce it. They crouched as they slipped forwards, blades and splinter rifles held tight in readiness. A flicker of light flashed over the corridor as a cluster of sparks leapt from a stuttering lumen strip. The blood of the raiders froze, inhumanly pallid skin blanching even paler at the sight before them. It had appeared for a fraction of a second, yet remained in each eldar’s mind, etched by terror. The entire passageway was filled with repulsive, sensual figures. The instant of light glistened from silky, lithe flesh, from seductively inviting grins, and from the gnarled surfaces of monstrously jagged claws. They were things of glass, silver and stone no longer. Events had drawn them down from their vigil upon the battlements of the Diadem. Now they were in the corridor, standing between the raiders and the bridge. The Commorites hesitated. Fear radiated from their stick-thin forms, carrying over the air like perfume for the smiling things watching them. A howl of pure exultant glee tore from the lips of the nearest of the creatures. Come, sweet morsels… It spoke without speaking, purring with a voice like honey and ashes. Its grinning form was given frightful animation as it gestured invitingly with a clawed pincer. We are a reflection of the Prince’s love for you. Come now, let us taste you. We will carry you to Him, to be embraced forever more.
I hate the Custodes. They look stupid, for the longest time they just sat around the throne doing nothing, they're impossible to balance in tabletop (either useless or anti-fun busted), they're used to promote DEI and its Sister of Silence side (which is far more interesting) gets completely ignored. Honestly, they're just Marines but far FAR lamer. I don't hate the Black Legion, they're far less overused than the Berries, even if they're the default Chaos legion. I also don't hate Tau, but mostly because I luv me some Kroot.
I feel like GSC is cool on the table top because it offers a way to fight with guerrilla warfare and no other army really does lets you really do that well.
They're just generic fantasy dark elves but with an extreme amount if BDSM. Some of the lore is cool for sure but they don't have that "cool" factor most other factions have...they're just weird...

That talking point that the T'au are the most despised faction is just not true. It is, however, something that's been parroted for over 20 years now. Like every other meme, the 40k playerbase makes it their mission in life to keep kicking a dead horse to be 'in' on the joke.
So true bro I have only heard imperal fist glazing in the community and in lore it makes me so angry the space wolves are loud with it but imperal fist are quiet about it.
I love the Tau and the Genestealer Cults. I get that Genestealer Cults might be bad in the game but from a lore perspective they are awesome. But no hate, just my opinion.
In my opinion chaos slowly becoming a bit generic in most stories, especially with the non space marine chaos factions. The writers often present them as on dimensional bad guy who worship dark gods for power or vengeance. It would be cooler to see different chaos factions with special motivations and units. For example the Blood Pact these guys worship Khorne, but still use imperial guard tactics, and their philosophy about the warp and the Emperor is interesting to me. And addition, what bugs me the most that GW never introduced any Xeno-chaos faction or unit.
NGL, I’ve just been getting into WH40K because of Space Marine 2. I’ve mostly been looking at chapters I can LARP as when the game releases. As a Flashgitz enjoyer I’m leaning towards Black Templars.
I feel like the deal with the Tau is either meant to be intentionally a matter of stark contrast, or intentionally a matter of "look at how big a fool these guys are, this is only working because they're on a comically small scale that they're beyond most notice, and the more they expand, the more extreme they become, for in the grim darkness of the far future, all hope is doomed to be fruitless" or something to the effect. Personally, I'm not sure that Knights should be their own faction. They feel like just a complementary force rather than their own full thing.
A couple things, Dumb Imperial Fist lore, the modern Imperial Fists are technically a success chapter to I think the Black Templars (?). The original Imperial Fists were wiped out at some point, I don't remember when M34 I think. So the successor chapters gave a bunch of their gene-seed to recreate the Imperial Fists, pretty sure most of the gene-seed came from the Templars making the modern Fists a successor chapter weirdly, may have changed with the girlymans return. The worst Imperial faction is clearly the Iron Hands, sure the smurfs are the poster boys but no ever fucking remembers the Iron Hands even exist. I have a backpack that has the 9 loyalist legion emblems on it, but wait turns out the Iron Hands was replaced with the Black Templars because even GW forget they exist. The worst chaos space marines has to be the Iron Warriors, sure the Black Legion is the everywhere and they kinda suck but come on it's the Iron Warriors. Fuck the Iron Warriors. As for xeno, I agree but all the Eldar factions suck not just the Dark Eldar.
Eldar sucks because of no new miniature refreshes too! I didn't say iron hands because they have some fun stuff like them being armor focused and literally having iron hands. I think the Iron Warriors are great for the heresy lore and hoe they helped the siege of terra and how they stuff demons into machines.
@RealFreelance Basically, the theory is the warp storm that isolated them was caused by the chaos powers. This caused the fighting and rapid development of the tau. Then, the leadership caste that no one know where they came from shows up. Warp storm goes away, and they begin to expand. As they expand, they slowly start to show chaotic tendencies, they feed a fleet to the warp, etc. Basically, the theory relies on the fact that no one knows where the leadership caste comes from, a random warp entity that saved 10% of their fleet, and that they can fall to chaos.
A lot of that lore requires subtext which I've looked into. Brainwashing everyone with mind worms if I and lots of other horrible things if I remember.
I mean... yeah? There's need to be bad for good to flurish. People have diffrent opinions (shocker) and so they like some factions more than others based on what they value. And if there's something you hate, even better, someone to fight against.
I like the T'au being grounded, because it highlights the insanity of everything else

Worst Factions are Lost and the Damned then Legion of the Damned. Greatest sculpts no support. Worst Faction IRL: GW.
Drukhari are awesome, they are just not suitable for 'general audiences'. Also dark elves in space are what I went to 40k for, literally such a vibe.
They dont really cater towards my sensibilities so I'm not a fan. I get it though. I think there's a lot of fun that can be had with the Drukhari.

Black Templars are great especially if you want to play a close range melee class!

I think the funniest part is that I didn't even think about knights. It totally makes sense, though they do feel complementary to the imperial guard.
Yea they need to make a second wave for the votann and some f books they let this faction to root for two years .....😊
Another T’au video? I’ll pass.

Tau are just chaos in hiding
What makes you say that?
