Tbh, they should have used Khorne instead of Tzeentch. Easier AI, classic looks, lots of good melee AND shooting options. Thousand sons are bolters and sorcery. We dont even have pink/blue horrors for the minoris like we should have. The tyranid parts are chefs kiss good.
About the only way I think they could do Chaos would either do undivided, Khorne or Nergle, Thousand Sons don’t feel as good due to no blood plus range/magic focus and I know they won’t poke Emperor’s Children with thousand foot pole.
@anaveragenightlordsfan if you have a competent heavy/sniper/tactical(with grenade launcher), they're not too bad. Just gotta make sure they don't get swarmed while they do their thing. This is coming from a heavy main.
I don't like any of the Thousand Sons missions. The marines take too many hits and keep porting around. They don't throw around parryable attacks so you end up often smashing your attack button. They also throw too many orange attacks which are hard to react to and they deal ridiculous damage. Namely flame circle, terminator rockets and marine kick, as the marines have like 2 other kicks which you can parry. Tyranids are what the game should be and have mob variety on top of that. Their operations are also less dull looking
7: Reliqary-C I don't care for this mission at all, the skull part takes so long and the Helldrake is such wasted potential at the end that this mission is just depressing because of how cool it could have been but falls so flat. I barely play this mission compared to the rest. 6: Ballistic Engine- B After playing these from start to finish that industrial look gets to be a bit tedious but the sand storms are a nice change of pace for sure that don't over stay it's welcome. Love the ending part with the defense and blowing up that hive city is fucking awesome. 5: Vox Libiteris- A I'd love for them to have more Tyranid and Thousand Sun combination missions, it reminds me of the Flood and the Covie missions in Halo. The short length and that great city scape just makes this one easy to reply. 4: Fall of Atreus- A Yeaaah that ending part with the train is annoying, and I'm pretty sure that this is the longest operation. But as far as thousand suns go it's bare able, love the Dreadnought and the blues and purples just as a switch up from the industrial look of most Tyranid missions. This is my go to for switching things up. 3: Inferno- S This is a really solid first mission going between the jungles and the industrial sections, love the Tyranids and the set piece at the end is really awesome watching the hordes running at you, and at their objectives and blowing them the fuck up. Al though I do prefer the bridge set piece in Decapitation, this one did it first. The only downside is the RNG of how many generators you have to defend, sometimes it's too many. 2: Termination- S Yeah this is basically just Inferno but slightly better. I'd swap them back and forth but I think the boss at the end and taking down the giant monstrosity really puts it over Inferno. 1: Decapitation- SS Goddamn everything about this mission is perfect, I love the goal of the tyrant throughout it, watching the statue fall on it because of bombs that you placed, as well as the threat of the boss at the end. As well as the environment, the city looks great and it feels seperate from the rest of the game. Not to mention the perfect pacing and the length overall is not too long and not too short.
Personally I’d swap the helldrake mission and the battle barge mission. I love Mr. Dreadnought, but if I wanted to play a bad payload game I would have booted up Overwatch
After watching this and reading the comments, I see I'm definitely in the minority when I say I actually like fighting the chaos enemies over tyranids. The rubric marines stay relatively still and make for easy headshots, and the tzaangors have very predictable melee attacks that you can continue to parry for unlimited armor. The cultists are a pain in the ass though. They can chip away at your armor and they have no parryable attacks for you to get armor back. The Tyranids have much more annoying enemies imo. The Warriors with the barbed cannon things that leave green toxic vines all over the place, neurothropes and zoanthropes, spore mines. And I feel like I'm always getting swarmed by tyranids and parrying for my life while rolling away and trying to make space.
For me chaos are ez up untill lethal, on lethal they are f worst, day and night difference, their missions below lethal were booring af and the easiest ones, i rather take xenos barbed pods over annoying chaos mobs
ahh not only me that tries to avoid the Thousand sons missions.... Too much ranged shit that hurts alot and that you have to chase around the map, its bothersome and boring I think all the Chaos-missions need more minoris, they are the ones keeping you alive.. and by that not more cultists, or they will have to change cultists to be CC not ranged. Remove the teleport ability from rubric marines The Tyranid-maps always have alot of hormagaunts in every encounter keeping you alive
Honestly, I love all mission, tho for me the new and 7th mission is my least favourite. The boss fight is the biggest noob crusher when people don't know what they are doing. Even on ruthless. Only to be bested by reliquary on the rare occasion when people can not match simple pictures on the Heldrake fight, pressing the wrong buttons and stretching the bossfight to an unbareable lenght, slowly taking damage making mistakes and maybe even starting to loose.
The amount of enemies wouldn't have been bad if they actually balanced their HP like the devs said they planned to. Bullet spongey enemies don't feel fun to fight they're just annoying @@RealFreelance
The caos forces at the bottom of this where they belong I can mow down an entire horde of tyranids by myself heck throw in a lictor while your at it I’d rather fight that than three caos marines as a bulwark
my list is like this: 1 - termination 2 - inferno 3 - drcapitation 4 - vox liberatis 5 - ballistic engines 6 - reliquary 7 - fall of atreus just hate fighitng the thousend sons, plus their missions are very boring too
I completely disagree on reliquary The Helldrake run is fine and easy to avoid, unless it’s your first time on the mission you know to use cover to avoid fire on the walk up and in the boss fight, Auspex and plasma means you can melt the boss in two goes. The lead up however when you have to find a fusion core, wait a full 30 seconds for the next objective to pop up and then follow the servo skull is such a goddamn drag, it’s not challenging, it’s just artificially extending the length of the mission. Fall of Atreus IMO Contemptor dreadnought is a nerd and not enough to save the mission, give me an OG tin can any day. Children’s train puzzle mission can go right in D tier with Reliquary
I totally get that. I think the issue is that i mainly play melee focused classes (and heavy) making it so the run up is hard when you're not playing tactical. Thanks for the comment!
How is terminations so high for ever one i find the ned of the mission so boring 90 percent of the time it one guy doing all the shooting. Plus it just a slightly better helldrake fight
I hate the mission 7. Complained only had 6 missions to replay and so they introduced a mission I never want to replay if dont have to. There were almost no ammo pickups through without the crate and the boring "hit the console and stand in a zone and blast the tumor to open a single door" is the most boring drawn out part of the level. Had to do something to stretch out the playtime of the mission and going from that time waster to an underwhelming boss ruined what interest I have in future operations

You forgot one positive about the bottom two.
No zoanthropes.

What i would love to see is more meele focused rubric marines. Having them be either piss easy bolter users, or annoying af flamers gets old FAST
I would too. Rubric marines suck. I think getting some deamon flamers and pink horror would make the thousand sons more fun to fight to.
Legit think when he shoots fire at the ground with the aoe is bugged like I know I’m perfectly dodging and still get hit
@sterlingalcorn4525 I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think either the radius or timing is off just enough to make it nearly impossible to dodge

At least there's not the antenna section in an op lmao
I would cry, so hard, for so long.
We're halfway there with the 7th op
😂😂😂😂, BRUHHHHH, 😆
Doing Reliquary on Lethal legit gave me cancer. Glad we all agree its trash

how fun right?

I had to do mission 4 on lethal SO MANY TIMES because of that damn Heldrake. It was the last one I needed to get the helmet😆.
I like all missions. 😄
Decapitation is probably the best mission
Anything with a boss fight is a negative for me. Terminus enemies are already a total pain
