    My completed 1970 Plymouth GTX tribute. It started life as a Sport Satellite with lots of options and a 318, now it has a 440 bored and stroked to 512 Cubic inches with a 440 Source lightweight crank kit.
    It has RPM heads, full roller cam, lifters and rockers, true roller timing chain, 6 pack oil pan and pick up, six pack intake and FiTech Six Pack Fuel Injection.
    TTI Headers, Aluminum Water Pump and housing, Fitech CDI ignition box and more. Transmission is a rebuilt 727 with shift kit and a bolt in Sprag, deep Mopar Performance Pan and pick up.
    Dana 60 rear end with 354 gears. Cooling is provided by a Griffin 26 inch aluminum Radiator, and a 5 bladed clutch fan.
    I rebuilt the car from top to bottom, including US Tool welded in sub frame connectors and Torque Boxes. The undercarriage is painted. Front suspension has 1.03 Torsion bars installed, 12 inch drilled and slotted rotors Pin style Calipers, and Poly Graphite Bushings throughout.
    I insulated the interior with Killmat top to bottom and the interior is all new Legendary including new seat foam for the bucket seats.
    I installed a rally dash frame and as all new OER gauges including the Tictoc Tach and clock.
    I also installed custom made speakers in the front and rear and installed the look like factory radio with Am/FM and Bluetooth. To round out the exterior, it has re-chromed bumpers, Gator Grain Vinyl top, Air grabber functional hood, Hood Pins, and GTX Striping.
    I painted it J6 Sassy Grass Green. This car came from California and all the panels are original except for the trunk pan and left down drop.

    Nice. Very Nice. I am in the finishing stages of my 70 GTX restore. A little bit of welding and a small amount of body work before I shoot it. Mine is an original 440-4. It now sports a built 440-6 and an air grabber system. I bought the car in 1981 and have enjoyed it all these years. It deserved to be restored for all the reliable years of service it gave. All the street racing and the kids transportation to school. I just hope my GTX turns out as nice as yours.

    How available is sheet metal for the 70 Plymouth B body? It's a bad ass car and I'm sure there's a market for the metal.

    • @johnchaney119
      @johnchaney119 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sheet metal is available thru AMD and GoodMark. All parts except a trunk lid and fenders. But I had no problem finding them trunk lids are tougher and expensive.

      Fenders are not being reproduced nor are trunk lids. The rest of the metal is being reproduced or is out there there used.

      @@moparrestorationparts3953 What was involved to change it from standard dash to rallye dash?

    • @johnchaney119
      @johnchaney119 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @edrevol721 hi thanks for your question. It is pretty involved to change over to a Rally Dash set up. It requires a different frame, cluster ash tray, glove box and of course the harness. I had the frame powder coated a 10 percent black to imitate as closely as I could the correct plate color. All the gauges were new OER pieces. I found the best wood grain parts I could find and just cleaned them up. They sell new but they are pricey. The install requires you to pull the windshield and the steering column. I removed the two studs on the column bracing to make it easier. It is not a cheap process and requires a complete change over parts. If you do it it is better to find a donor car to ensure you get everything you need. Even just the frames are going for 300 plus. If you need more info let me know. Thanks again for your questions.
