Awesome! We were all potty trained by 12 months in Europe and I think it's great. Why train your baby to soul themselves and then 2-3 years later re-train them how not to soil themselves?! No thank you to dealing with poopy diapers. We will be doing EC and I'm excited.

Chisanainori S , I think it is great, Like I’ve said before, it is ultimately what works best for the family. 🤗

This is amazing! Thank you for sharing. I find people often try to belittle what they don't understand. I remember teaching my infant sign language (he'll be 2 next week) & everyone thought we were nuts! But it worked and was extremely beneficial for my husband and I & still is!
I'm due next week (a day after my son's bday) and I plan to try EC. I'm so glad I came across this information & wish I knew it earlier!

I guess I missed it, how is using diapers, Diaper Free Baby Potty Training?

Hi Kathy, Using diapers as backup (when leaving the house, sleeping, etc.) The majority of the days are spent diaper-free. Like all forms of training... it's a process :-D

Kathy Garber, the goal of EC is to eventually get diaper free. Some families use cloth diapers too, to catch the misses.

Just so you know, cloth diapers were being used way before the 50’s... that was the invention of disposable diapers, though ;)

Lua Miazga, yes, I have since switched to cloth👍

There are a few ideas concerning potty training methods
look for signs that suggest your child is ready
chat to the child to make sure they understand
show your child pictures to explain
get rid of diapers/nappies from your house
(I discovered these and why they work on gabs potty blueprint site )

Just a curious somebody commenting here. It is amazing to me how 3rd world countries are ahead of more industrialized countries with this idea. It's a bit confusing to me why it isnt the norm here. Seems a bit backwards to me.

nfn nfn diapers are expensive and its natural to baby to learn.

Indian babies use toilets almost from 11-13 months and it's normal for us. Only now city dwelling Western Civilization inclined families are training after 2-3yrs.

Nfn nfn, do the research and you'll find your comment is an uneducated one.

Thanx but a caring mom doesnt need a research do u know why?cuz a mum does know well her baby's needs at every stage...experience is way a hed than research..... thanx anyway...by the way my baby got to use toilet about 18 M

Research is how we learned a lot of things including the risks for sids, ect. Mine is 8 months and rarely soils her diapers because of this method, been that way since she was 6 months.

Grudge but potty training at 2 or older is ridiculous

It's ridiculous we teach our children to soil themselves then unteach them 2~3 yrs later. Research and educate yourself.
